McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Austin (Century Oaks) Ratings and Reviews
It was a horrible experience. Manager/owner first tried to help us with wine then ended up pushing the worst bottle on us that was exactly what we had told him that we did not like. Waiter argued with us about what we wanted to order and talked us out of an appetizer that we really wanted. Food was mediocre. We honestly felt like fast food would've been better. Service was awful. We never even got water with our meal. We dine out 1-2 times per week and often try different/new restaurants. But this might have been the worst experience. I would not recommend it. And we will never go back.
Disappointed. We typically love M&S! Yesterday was very different. We were celebrating my wife’s 30th birthday. There’s was no acknowledgment except for the menu that said Happy Birthday at the top. No dessert or anything. Staff dropped ketchup behind us and our guests and splattered ketchup all over my wife’s jacket and our friend’s jacket. Our food for most of us was lukewarm or cold. My lobster tail was cold. The stuffed salmon was lukewarm and it did not taste the same as we once remembered the last time we were at this Austin location. It wasn’t as flavorful. It was mediocre. We had to ask for bread several times before receiving after 30 minutes of seating. Our other guests/friends are vegan. Our friend specifically requested no dairy or butter sauce on the Hawaiian Swordfish dinner. But the chefs still placed dairy on her meal and the waiter said that he told the chefs but he thinks she still might like it. That comment was disheartening because she is vegan. Also, it took a very long time for us to pay for our meals. Not sure what happened this time. Tonight was a 2 out of 5 or 3 out of 5 at best.
This was a great experience for my Husband and me. We were there for my husbands birthday and had a wonderful waiter who made the experience so enjoyable. We were seated right away and our food came out very quickly. Everything tasted amazing and the wine selection was great
We decided to go there for my birthday, this was our first time going there and we were not disappointed. The staff as very attentive and we were seated right away. The waiter was quick, responsive and attentive to our needs . They had an excellent wine list and hors d'oeuvres and we quickly got the party started. The noise level was just right , so there was no need to yell, and we were able to have a nice conversation. Excellent desert meanie, topped off a wonderful night! I would recommend it to anyone.
Our family dined here for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. We had the shrimp appetizer and would go back for the shrimp dinner. Good choice of seafood entrees as well as steak and prime rib. Found out no one too interested in Turkey on Thanksgiving! Good to know!!!
We should have sat at the bar where we could have had better if not superb service. We had a reservation due to the holiday even though seating was not timely. Once we were finally sat, it took 10 minutes before I went up front to request service. For the price this establishment doesn’t seem prepared for the hospitality. Like many other Austin places, they need to get on their game and quit slacking. You don’t always get what you pay for!
My family went the restaurant for their Thanksgiving Day special. We all had the turkey dinners, a bottle of Roscato wine for the 4 of us, and we each took home a dessert. We did not have the seafood on this visit, but we did have it on 2 prior visits and enjoyed it. The service on all visits was excellent.
Great way to celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey and all the trimmings but without all the fuss and muss. Turkey, dressing, butternut squash, green beans with carrots, potatoes, cranberry sauce plus optional pumpkin pie if you request it. Single serving large enough for leftovers later on, so price is right, but champagne and wines by the glass slightly pricey. Nevertheless, we have made McCormick & Schmick our Thanksgiving tradition for several years now.
We were treated to a free meal for Veterans Day. Everything about this dining experience was outstanding. My wife had the grilled salmon and I had the BEST fish and chips I have ever had. The fries were amazingly crisp on the outside and fluffy soft inside. The generous portion of cod was lightly battered and cooked perfectly. I like coleslaw but I found theirs to be simply delicious, I wish I could order it for take out. If you like sourdough bread, the sourdough here will probably become one of your favorites...I asked for some to go as it is awesome. I will definitely be back here to dine again as this was the best meal I have had in Austin. I have seen reviews complaining about the service here and apparently they did not have our server...Jamie was friendly, efficient and thurough and a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone except people who can't appreciate good things when they see them. Even if it is perfect they will find something to complain about.
Excellent food. The service was very good once they arrived at the table (some confusion and we waited about 5-8 minutes until the service person arrived). I would rate it a 5 had the delay not happened. Good wine list . The bartender even came out to make sure our drink request was correct-now that's good service .
We will definitely go back
I love the food however the bathroom situation has not changed since the last visit. My wife and I agree both men and women are dirty with constant plumbing problems. I find this hard to believe four times within the past year and the bathrooms are appalling.
it was vets free day...i ordered a mimosa and calamari app...i used my drink napkins to soak up the grease from the app, grease must not have been hot enough, or it wasnt drained enough before serving, i pointed it out to the server... and a 10$ 2 sip drink...smh...
