McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Austin (Century Oaks) Ratings and Reviews
We were treated to a free meal for Veterans Day. Everything about this dining experience was outstanding. My wife had the grilled salmon and I had the BEST fish and chips I have ever had. The fries were amazingly crisp on the outside and fluffy soft inside. The generous portion of cod was lightly battered and cooked perfectly. I like coleslaw but I found theirs to be simply delicious, I wish I could order it for take out. If you like sourdough bread, the sourdough here will probably become one of your favorites...I asked for some to go as it is awesome. I will definitely be back here to dine again as this was the best meal I have had in Austin. I have seen reviews complaining about the service here and apparently they did not have our server...Jamie was friendly, efficient and thurough and a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone except people who can't appreciate good things when they see them. Even if it is perfect they will find something to complain about.
Excellent food. The service was very good once they arrived at the table (some confusion and we waited about 5-8 minutes until the service person arrived). I would rate it a 5 had the delay not happened. Good wine list . The bartender even came out to make sure our drink request was correct-now that's good service .
We will definitely go back
I love the food however the bathroom situation has not changed since the last visit. My wife and I agree both men and women are dirty with constant plumbing problems. I find this hard to believe four times within the past year and the bathrooms are appalling.
it was vets free day...i ordered a mimosa and calamari app...i used my drink napkins to soak up the grease from the app, grease must not have been hot enough, or it wasnt drained enough before serving, i pointed it out to the server... and a 10$ 2 sip drink...smh...
Over the years, we have heard lots of great things about this restaurant and never had the opportunity to go. So glad we did. The ambience, the food and Shelby, our waitress was outstanding. We will definitely return . We really wish we had one in our city . 👍👏👌
My family and I went to McCormick and Schmick's last night to celebrate my father's birthday. I had made a reservation for our group and we were seated immediately. They had printed special menus for him that they gave to our group. It had a personalized birthday wish at the top. Our waitress, who was terrific, took his and had it signed by the staff on duty and gave it back to him rolled up and tied with a nice little ribbon. Everything we ordered, from cocktails to salads, entrees to dessert was terrific. I have to admit that after reading so many negative reviews I was nervous about eating here, but I was very pleasantly surprised and will return for other special family events in the future. Thank you, M & S, for helping make my father's special day that much more special.
I've eaten at this restaurant in Houston and it was very good. The Ahi tuna entree looked like an appetizer with sliced pieces of tuna. The asparagus was nothing special and the brussels sprouts were about 50% potatoes and onions. Also, the portion sizes of the sides were small. Service was OK, but a little slow
We celebrated my birthday and I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t get treated any special way even though I announced it was my birthday when I got there. Actually, our waiter took forever to take care of us. Food was a little cold and my boyfriend’s steak was too cooked.
The place was great all around but we would have preferred a waiter wiyh a less severe face. He didn't smile much. We come there to relax n have an enjoyable time but a severe faced waiter makes you stress over “what did i do to offend him?” Even though youdid nothing but thats how you feel!
Tyler in the bar salvaged what was otherwise a terrible evening. After watching the hosts bicker amongst themselves, we were finally seated. 10 minutes later we still had not been greeted by a server. An 8 top with kids was seated right next to us, and someone waited on them promptly. We gave up and went to the bar. Kudos to Tyler for providing the only good service we had all night.
We found our food very satisfying but the service was a bit lacking. I think our server was preoccupied with a large party so perhaps service would be better at another time. The atmosphere was a bit corporate for our tastes. We like more locally owned or family owned, one-off restaurants but it was nice enough. Highlight of the meal was the bacon wrapped, pepper jack stuffed jumbo fried shrimp appetizer, which was amazing.
