McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Atlantic City - Harrah's Ratings and Reviews
Drove from Long Island; stayed at another hotel and purposely made reservations at this restaurant recalling from many years past how special and unique it was. This experience was anything but the latter! Whatever "ambiance" to which you refer is ruined by the noise level from the bar which runs parallel to the tables where we were seated. Though tasty, the bread came served appearing as though someone placed a brick on top of the loaf prior to placing it in a basket. The lobster bisque was perhaps the only item that was of excellent quality! The chopped salad was different and also enjoyable with exception of finding a piece of what appears to be the end of a romaine or other salad green; one that belonged in the garbage, not served! The two entrees were scallops and bourbon glazed salmon. The scallops came with 4 pieces @ $34.00! That is beyond my comprehension! The salmon at the same price was on the dry side and basically very non-descript. As if that weren't enough it was served with spinach that was SO over salted, it really was inedible. When asked about the meal and I mentioned the spinach, I was asked if I would like more spinach?! And the only other part of this experience that needs to be mentioned is my spouse said to me that he thought the Ketel I drink he was served seemed "watered down" and charged $13.00. There appears to be a grave lack of attention to detail going on here and we were both extremely disappointed!
Food is ok, but the price is very expensive!! An 8oz filet mignon costs $65. This is for a New Year's eve dinner, where we were forced to order their Chefs menu, and we cannot order anything from the regular menu. If I knew that this will be the case, I would have spent my $65 somewhere else. Definitely our first and last in this overhyped restaurant.
Food was excellent! However, the service was very slow which I felt was due to it being NY Eve, although there plenty of workers standing around. My real complaint was I saw two things happen that should not have.
First, a guy cleaning tables only did partial wipe down, then I realized our table was cleaned the same and parts of it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time! Then, I was in the men’s room, server came out of stall and went back to work w/o washing hands!
I understand there's no way of tracking hand washing, but clean tables for a $200+ dinner shouldn’t be an issue.
I would’ve said something to the Manager, but he was dealing with a customer that was a jerk and didn’t want to give him any more grief at that time!
Menu was changed to fixed price without notice. Would not have gone if we had known at the time of the reservation or even if we were told when they called for confirmation. During the day, they were passing out coupons for free appetizers but would not honor them because they had “too many people asking for reservations”. The manager was rude when we asked why they did not honor them. The menu did not have the items we ordered before. My wife got sick afterwards.
We had dined here 2-3 times before but would not again. Definitely would not recommend it.
Having visited this particular restaurant numerous times and being satisfied each time it was shocking and extremely disappointing that nothing seemed to work on my last visit
Arriving at 6:00 for a 6:15 reservation and being seated immediately seemed like a good start however that’s the last good thing that occurred
Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive the salad which we asked to have split was not and then our dinner did not arrive until we had been seated for over an hour
At no time did the waitperson offer to refill our water or replenish our bread and butter
He also seemed annoyed when I told him we had been seated for over an hour and our entrees were still not ready (shrimp Scampi and streamed Alaskan King Crab)
The restaurant was not crowded and there appeared to be plenty of staff available and others who arrived after us were served their meal
While I did not request seeing the manager the waitperson apparently did not inform him of a guests concerns
Ironically I am a member of this chains frequent diners club and supposedly have some “ priority “ over those not a member
my family and I went here for Christmas dinner and the food and service was excellent. i had the ultimate mixed grill which was great. it was salmon, stuffed shrimp and a crab cake it tasted fresh and cooked to perfection after dinner for dessert i had the chocolate bag with white chocolate mousse with fresh berries inside this little chocolate bag it is an unique dessert. it costs $13 over-priced for a dessert but it looks and taste heavenly a must try. the food was the very best i would go there again. prices are high i guess cause it is in A. C. but the food is the best!!!
As usual the food at McCormick & Schmick is well prepared and a decent value for the money. It's never cheap to dine inside a casino and this restaurant is no different, However, thr food is well prepared and we consider it to be one of the better casino restaurants. We eat here everytime we stay at the Harrahs resort which is an=bout 4 times a year.
I have been coming to this restaurant for special occasions, two come to mind, Valentine's day and wedding anniversaries, thru all the years that I been coming to this restaurant, I have never been disappointed, excellent food and incomparable service. I will keep on coming back.
The location at Baltimore Inner Harbor is a favorite for my family and always well worth the price. This Atlantic City location has gone down hill since my last visit 6 months ago. The service was terrible, food was well below what I have come to expect and the selection is questionable. Numerous items were not available tonight on the menu and the place was empty. I think the parent company should re-evaluate this location and close it before it kills their brand!!!!!!
I never write reviews but I had to for this place. My boyfriend and I came here on a week night for his birthday while staying at Harrah's. Our food was delicious! We ordered steaks that were cooked perfectly with delicious sides, along with the shrimp kisses appetizer that was super flavorful. My boyfriend is a steak critic and he said it might have been the best steak he has ever had. You are getting great food without spending a fortune like at most places in Atlantic City. We sat in the dining area which was quiet and comfortable but they also have a bar with happy hour specials which seemed nice too! Lastly, our experience from the hostess to our server Neil was incredible from start to finish.. we were extremely happy with our choice!
The prefix dinner was the best value and 4 out of 5 people felt it was the best filet they ever had! The dessert was wonderful and perfect size. I would recommend it on a night outside of a convention if you want a more romantic atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally accomodating, even when the number in our party changed multiple times in 1 hour. Go.
Similar to all restaurants at Harrahs, the wait time is always an issue. At McCormicks, there appeared to be adequate staff and few patrons, but the waiters seemed to be novices, although very pleasant. It took at least 8 minutes for someone to come over and greet us or offer us drinks after we were seated. Again, there were approximately 10 tables with patrons that evening, not busy at all.
The food was quite tasty, I ordered the surf and turf combo. The filet mignon was good and the lobster tail was great!
It was our anniversary so they put a Happy Anniversary card on our table and gave us free dessert.
We may return when staying at Harrahs.
Hosted a client meeting at McCormick & Schmick's on Tuesday 11/28. Arrived early for a Happy hour cocktail which was well worth the price. Fairly busy bar with decent bartender. As my client was a bit late, I sat down and ordered an appetizer which was consumed before they arrived. We were not rushed in any way, as the hostess and wait staff were very pleasant and accommodating. When my client arrived we were not rushed in any way and enjoyed our dinner meeting very much. The food is very good for the price and they understand how to treat business clients. This is a very good restaurant with a well trained staff and well worth the visit if you are in Atlantic city.
