McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Anaheim Ratings and Reviews
Whenever we visit McCormick and Schmick in Anaheim, we are given a warm welcome by Manager Richard. It is great to see him every time we visit. Thanks for seating us in our favorite area! I wish I could remember all the wonderful servers who had helped us in the past. Today, we were helped by Casey, and she did a great job of making sure our dining and beverage needs were met. And she had my meal made to order (I don't do well with garlic and spicy heat). Thanks so much, Casey! I had the sea bass in herb broth with some sliced baby potatoes - it was delicious. I will definitely order it again. I also love the sourdough bread here. Yummy! I cannot remember what my husband ordered, but he enjoyed it and ate every bit of it. Both of us devoured our meals:) My husband also enjoyed his cocktails. The food here is fresh, tasty and well-prepared. We are looking forward to returning.
I would have to say the Bone in Rib Eye is very tender and delicious as well as a Great Value for the portion. I have been there twice and ordered the Grilled Octopus both times, the portion is a good size. Didn't think it was great the first time not hot and a little chewy. The second time the Octopus was hot but it was tougher than a tire. Didn't finish it or complain because I still had food coming.
Decent place for Thanksgiving dinner since we weren't able to cook this year. Food was decent but nothing to write home about. I didn't expect it to be awesome anyway. They basically cook this type of meal once a year and it's not their specialty. Having said that, it was still good. The service was better than average.
The server seemed to profile us ( 2 adults and 2 children under 6) as it was Thanksgiving and my birthday ( we had just finished our afternoon from Disneyland and were dressed appropriately for that ) and everyone else was in much nicer attire than we were. Recognizing the aforementioned I had requested outdoor seating. Long story short, everyone seated at surrounding tables received prompt service, cold glasses of water ( I had to ask ), a cocktail menu ( I had to ask ) and friendly servers. My girlfriend told told our waitress that it was my birthday and her response was literally “Ok.”
It being Thanksgiving and all we all order the turkey dinner. Let me say that I have dined in fine restaurant chains such as Ruth’s Chris and Daniel’s Broiler along with catered meals by McCormick and Schmick along with rare trips to low budget traps such as Denny’s / Applebee’s for dinner and the meals that we received tonight were on par with the LATTER. It tasted as if the chef added a whole shaker of salt to each of our dishes after they were seasoned in salt before the cooking even commenced. We may as well have have gone to McDonalds instead. My mouth is still burning from the salt.
This is not the standard of cooking nor service we were hoping to receive especially on a holiday away from our family. The ambiance was calming though.
I will say the manager didn’t hesitate to comp the meal and was deeply apologetic. Maybe they had to do too much of this up in Seattle hence the reason that location shuttered its doors last year. I hope they can turn it around but cutting culinary corners is certainly not the way to survive.
Very disappointed overall.
Went for Thanksgiving with large party. Service was great but overall very unhappy with the Thanksgiving meal . In addition, no one came to our table to ask how our food etc was . We are Landrys members and disappointed at this restaurants quality of food and lack of manager oversight on large party
Always good. Wasn't as busy on thanksgiving as I thought it would be. Tried to out us at a table next to two large parties and in the traffic lane so to speak. Were accommodating to our request to be moved. Food was excellent. Great service. One of my fav spots for special occasions
Lovely dinner - my only complaint is that the entrees came before I finished my appetizer! That is my PET PEEVE! I hate to spend so much money on dinner and then feel rushed. That said, the food is always good - I especially enjoyed the andouille mashed potatoes, and the cocktails were delicious. We'll probably come back, but if I am rushed again - I will not return!
Amazing service. The location is close by attractions and peacock suites. Nice celebration after going to Knott’s Berry farm. This was a surprise because I didn’t know they were celebrating Veterans Day for military appreciation. Thank you for recognizing us who served and currently serving. It was a nice surprise on top off a great vacation.
My dining experience was really great. My only concern was the fact that my entrée was a bit too salty and I had a bit of a stomach ache after eating the parmeasan crusted chicken, it was a bit oily and salty.. I am a Landry Club Member and I love coming in and eating at this location for Veteran's Celebration and other special occasions, or a couple date night. Thanks for your dedication to excellent customer service.
Despite the average food along with average service we did very much enjoy our evening at McCormick & Schmidt. My husband is a veteran and it was heartwarming to see so many veterans attending. They had a special table set up in the back room in honor of veterans, POW's and MIA's. What a nice gesture!
As far as the food, my husband's cedar planked salmon was ok. I had an octopus appetizer, my first octopus ever and it was very tasty with a great grilled flavor. Kind of tough, only a very small piece, and a bit pricey . I will have to say that their sourdough bread is the absolute best!! Unfortunately I don't eat carbs, but did sneak a small piece to taste. I could have eaten the whole loaf! We took home half of the loaf and my husband had it for breakfast in the morning.
We came for the Veterans' Day tribute. There were four male veterans; one from each branch of the military: Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy. Three came with wives. One veteran came alone. Another friend joined us. This was our first time at the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. We hope to come again. Hopefully, with the same group for a birthday or just a get-together. We sincerely thank you for the delightful Veterans' Day tribute!
Wonderful, relaxing night - great service - great food! A few pics below: My appetizer was Crab Tower (Crab, mango, avocado, citrus vinaigrette), and the dessert was The Chocolate Bag (big enough for 3 people easily) - Chocolate "bag" filled with white chocolate mouse and berries... wonderful!! Will go here again without question.
I tried the same chain restaurant in DC, this place was not the same wonderfully tasty experience. Food was salty and extremely buttery that it overwhelmed the taste of the fish. Very dissatisfying, will not go back. It also had an extremely casual clientele, not what I was looking for for a birthday dinner.
