McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Anaheim Ratings and Reviews
I was disappointed with their service.
Our table’s person in charge took orders mistakenly and served wine roughly.
Eventually we were charged 20% gratitude automatically .. Even if we were seven ,kind of big group but, To be honest, her service doesn’t deserve very much.
It was good but not as expected. We always visit the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Today was not as enjoyable and satisfying. It seems that the service was not as attentive. We requested for more bread with our appetizer and it came when the appetizers were all gone. I asked to substitute my mashed potatoes with rice and it was mushy and inedible. My wife had to ask and wait for her iced tea instead of being refilled automatically.
We've been to McCormick and Schmick's at other locations - Las Vegas, Pasadena and San Francisco. This was our 1st time at the Anaheim Restaurant. We were seated in room to the right of main dining room. Our Server was Tony. To begin with the music in the room was blasting. It was so loud it was annoying. I asked our waiter if the same music was provided throughout the restaurant and he said yes. My next question was does it need to be this loud. He agreed it was loud and went to switch on the wall and turned it down. Restaurant s like McCormick's don't need to have Hip Hop Music Blasting throughout the room. Food as always was very good. I think for us we were disappointed in being seated in room adjacent to main dining room, when seats were available in Main room. The view form room was of the Traffic on Katella Ave which was a turnoff. The music and view of Katella Ave - caused my evening to be insignificant.
This was our first time here.....seeing Yelps reviews some of them I think that some people either do not know how to review or are too picky. First of all the hostess were quite attentive and seated us even though we were early on New Years Eve. I found the price of the food not as pricey as some had said the decor was very nice and its location in the Garden Walk was nice we noticed the outdoor dining area and will surely come to dine outdoors when the weather is better..The service our server was bright and cheerful and knowledgeable in the menu the food was excellent I had the swordfish Cajun grilled and the better half had the fish and chips which she said were outstanding and since she likes fish and chips she should know. My dinner was excellent and of the right size for the price. This is a place to go for any occasions other than night to night dinning We will be back many times and hopefully will experience the same wonderful dinner and night out....We tend to go out 4 to 5 times a week for lunch or dinner and have been to many restaurants over the past ten years of dinning
we were going to House of Blues and this was close to the venue. Our waitress Samantha was excellent. She took care of our drinks and expedited our order. The hamburger was definitely on the greasy side with lots of cheese and butter (?). Otherwise the ambience was very nice. We had a booth for the 4 of us and that was great.
My previous meals at McCormick & Schmick's have always been great. The new years eve dinner last year (2016) was especially memorable. I decided to return this year for a repeat experience but on the day prior (my Birthday is on 12/31). We were disappointed with the first appetizer, the Calamari 'Frito Misto'. The Calamari was tough, possibly not fresh and overall awful. We were also supposed to get the Ancho Chili Charred Octopus but it never showed up. When we ordered our dinner, I also specifically mentioned not to bring until we were completed with the appetizers. The waiter, Andrew acknowledged the request. Then before the second appetizer, the diner entree's showed up. Andrew indicated that the chef was supposed to come out and explain that they were out of the second appetizer; that never happened. Andrew was a good waiter and made up for the bad service with free menu items. While I commend him for the valiant effort, the overall experience was less than satisfying.
Horrible experience. Took into account it was a holiday night for the horrible food and service, and yet no one greeted us with any holiday salutations.
My filet was raw when I ordered medium, got charge $4 for each baked shrimp, and also got charged for each additional Arnold Palmer refill (with no Notice from the waitress). We contested the $4 charge per shrimp and the waitress said “that’s how it’s ringing up”, luckily the manager was behind her and heard so he waived the fees. My 3 pcs of baked shrimp were dry and hard. The absolute worst tasting shrimp dish I have ever eaten.
The waitress was not friendly or attentive, my glass of water was constantly empty and she even mixed up my order then had the audacity to tell me what I said or more what she thinks she heard.
This was our first time trying this restaurant and we put a special note stating it was for my 40th birthday...nope not even a mention of it...whatever we wanted to leave ASAP.
Never again to this place. Oh and I even purchased the Landry card for $25 thinking I would come again. Big mistake....Huge!
Got one of the last tables thru open table in evening, but place was slower by then. (Christmas Day 8:45 pm). Sat in a small banquet room with nice Xmas tree. I ordered appetizers that never showed up UNTIL I told our waiter to make sure he took it off our bill. He then ordered the appy plus an extra one and didnt charge for them. We also waited 45 minutes for our dinner. I almost took my family and left before meals came out. My meal was luke warm/dry and veggies were cold and limp like it had been sitting awhile-maybe waiter was in a break hence the 45 minute. For the price I'd go somewhere else. Would not go here again. Waste of money and my time.
We were in town for a Christmas vacation, and had made reservations two months in advance. Upon our arrival, which we were on time for our reservation time; we were seated at a folding table. We would have rather waited past our reservation time to be seated at a real table. It downgraded all other aspects of our dining experience. Our server was great, but the food was average. For the price, we will not be returning.
The food was good, but the presentation was poor...Plates were on the table for bread, but bread was not brought or offered. (We requested bread and it was brought to us.)...The waitress offered various items as substitutes, but then charged us extra ($8 for each item). We explained to the server that she had said the items were substitutions and she had not informed us of an upcharge. (She had the extra charges removed from the bill.)...My mother requested no sauce on her scallops--They were served with sauce and it was too spicy for her to enjoy. (We brought it to the servers attention and she brought a new order.)...We were two people seated at a table set for four--great, except that they should have removed the extra place settings, as we felt crowded...There were a number of issues. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. We will not return to this location.
We were very disappointed 1st time there on Christmas day evening, and our food was cold, took a very long time to come out, and my husband's steak was way overcooked and dry. We brought this to the servers attention but nothing was done to fix it. I understand it was Christmas and busy just not satisfied with what we got for what we spent. A let down. Also were out of lobster. The best part was the ambiance!
Had a dinner with friends on Christmas day, and they promptly guided us to a very nice table by the window where we could see vibrant holiday decorated streets. The restaurant was elegantly decorated inside and out for the season. our server was very attentive and courteous and her suggestions in menu selection lead us to a very pleasant meal time.
I went here with a friend on Christmas Day. It was really great to have a nice place open on Christmas Day. There were quite a few large parties but no waiting and no crowds. The food was delicious, if slightly overpriced. Probably the proximity to Disney. Service was excellent and very attentive. Would love to go here again sometime.
Service has noticeably suffered here. It's very sad to say this since it's one of my favorite spots. Doesn't feel like it a "special" place anymore. Food is still okay although the food at our last meal looked like it was thrown on the plate in a rush. Maybe next time is will be better.
Took about 45 minutes to be seated even though we made reservations. After being seated the waiter took another 10 minutes to greet the table and get drink orders. During the dinner, which wasn’t anything special, a few soups and sides weren’t even brought to the table, but were still charged. Right as everyone was finishing up the waiter then brought out a basket of bread, which you normally get before the meal. With the price of food and upscale decor you expect something more than bland fish and bad service.
Whenever we visit McCormick and Schmick in Anaheim, we are given a warm welcome by Manager Richard. It is great to see him every time we visit. Thanks for seating us in our favorite area! I wish I could remember all the wonderful servers who had helped us in the past. Today, we were helped by Casey, and she did a great job of making sure our dining and beverage needs were met. And she had my meal made to order (I don't do well with garlic and spicy heat). Thanks so much, Casey! I had the sea bass in herb broth with some sliced baby potatoes - it was delicious. I will definitely order it again. I also love the sourdough bread here. Yummy! I cannot remember what my husband ordered, but he enjoyed it and ate every bit of it. Both of us devoured our meals:) My husband also enjoyed his cocktails. The food here is fresh, tasty and well-prepared. We are looking forward to returning.
I would have to say the Bone in Rib Eye is very tender and delicious as well as a Great Value for the portion. I have been there twice and ordered the Grilled Octopus both times, the portion is a good size. Didn't think it was great the first time not hot and a little chewy. The second time the Octopus was hot but it was tougher than a tire. Didn't finish it or complain because I still had food coming.
