Danny was EXCELLENT during the happy hour at the bar. I ate dinner and enjoyed a few drink. Quick friendly and quality meal. The dinner seating is on elevated levels so all tables have a river view.
Quick & courteous service & excellent menu selection. Great tasting food.
Love this restaurant! Always a great experience. Thank you.
Decent service, food not very tasty, edible, but bisque was overly seasoned with salt, fried shrimp was dry and over cooked. I have not been to Red Lobster in years, but I recall their food being better or on par with this place. I am willing to pay for quality, at this place you pay for it, but you don’t get it.
Great food, service, ambience, and views. A nice place for a memorable experience.
I wanted this to be a great meal before going to the Opera ( a gift for my graduating niece). Two reasons for my poor review.
1. Wine by the Glass was a very limited poor selection. We're home of the Oregon Pinot Noir, for goodness sake!!
2. I ordered the special - stuffed halibut for $39. It was very disappointing (dry, small, barely warm)
Fantastic fish, as usual. The bread was even better than remembered—delicious!
Amazing service and amazing food! Recommend for any occasion!
We enjoyed the waterfront view and excellent service. This location has a very comfortable atmosphere and the food has never disappointed. Loved the clam chowder to kick off our meal.
Had a great time!
Our waiter forgot to bring warm bread as she promised, otherwise all were good.
You can never go wrong choosing Harborside for dinner or brunch. The food is excellent, service top notch, and views fantastic.
Food was very good, waiter was very attentive. We ordered everything from a breakfast of french toast to steak medallions, everything was very good.
Ate here for Easter Brunch just before heading to a show. This has been a steady good place for dinner and their brunch didn't disappoint. The barbecue bacon wrapped shrimp and grits were so good! The tastes I had of the filet & crab cakes benedict were fantastic. With the mimosas, service and view, it was a great experience.
We ate here the night before Easter so it was quite crowded. We had reservations and were seated after a short wait. We had a table by the window so a good view of the river. Two of us had the pan sauteed Idaho trout with almonds; that paired with the orzo was excellent! Another person had the Scottish salmon and said it was perfectly cooked and so flavorful; maybe the best salmon he has ever had. We also had the clam chowder (good and not too thick), Caesar salad which was also good, bread for the table that had garlic and a butter topping which we all loved, and wine from the extensive wine list. Our server was very helpful and efficient. A wonderful meal. We were in Portland from out of town to visit relatives.
every thing was great but service was slow, 5:30 for a 7:30 show, had to ask for bill and didn't have time for dessert, location and food was great friendly service, just slow when they knew we were there before Hamilton.
The wild Scottish salmon was out of this world.........melted in my mouth! Great spot to "meet" people or to treat somebody to the City life.
Great environment with a marvelous view over the river, by the window. Service was very good, fast, professional and personalized, with smiles and genuine care. The food was good (the trio, the salmon, the desserts). Wine list is large and offers a great choice.
In the last few weeks, I have had two lunches and one round of happy hour drinks at this restaurant. I'm sorry to say that every time it fell below my expectations in terms of the food, drink, and service. I went to M&S because our favorite lunch place and bar near our office, Three Degrees has been closed for renovations. However, each and every time it has fallen short. The lunches were greasy and flavorless. Even the salad they managed to drench in so much dressing it ruined it. Servers for lunch were attentive but not personable. At happy hour, I brought our whole office in for drinks. Two people ordered the same drink and they tasted dramatically different. One tasted like the bartender had forgotten the alcohol. When I took the drink back to the bar, rather than offering to make another drink, the bartender chose to argue with me about whether it had alcohol and disputed that two of our drinks tasted different. I will give credit to the server who came up during our dispute and asked the bartender to make another. Regardless, the bartender was rude and unhelpful. Plus, our group was so underwhelmed by the drinks we decided not to have the planned second round. This restaurant used to be a "go-to" in Portland. No longer. It is off the list of places for our business lunches and after hours celebrations.
Food was overcooked and we waited a long time. Had to send back away stairs and there was a hair in my salad
The food and servicer were poor. Of the nine people in our party most ordered soups and salad. It seemed to take a very long time for such simple fare. The salads we ordered were missing ingredients, the soup, when delivered were not hot (a skim had formed on the surface). One of the guests inquired about the spiciness of the soup and was told it was not, however she was unable to eat it. The full cup of soup was sitting on the table but the server mad no comment. The server was told about the salads but she only came back after it was to late. I do not mind paying a higher price when the food and service are worth it.
This was a very disappointing night. I had a guest from Seattle. The food was good as usual but the service was the worst in many months. They are always short of staff for service but this was over board.
Disappointing. Every time we are in town, this was one of our favorite spots to stop at for dinner. This time our waiter was rude, obnoxious and overcharged us for our meal. When we pointed out (even showing him the menu) that he had overcharged us $10, he refused to correct the bill. Not wanting to make a scene, we paid and left. Did not leave our usual 20 – 25% tip for Kyle!!!
Great food for the price...excellent service by our waitress.
I want to surprise my wife for our wedding anniversary taking her to that restaurant, but what a surprise we took with the bad service that the waitress give us, l will never come back again and l will never recommend anyone!!!!!!!
Thank you staff for making our reservations and event so memorable. It was a Tuesday evening, so the restaurant was not too busy. Staff was wonderful and the service was great. The ultimate grill meal was good. The crab cake was excellent; and the shrimp and salmon were okay too. Will definitely return and just order a dinner of crab cakes. The stuffed salmon was good. It is difficult to be served 'atlantic salmon' when we live in the Northwest and yet still pay premium prices. All and all would recommend this restaurant if your have an income that can afford the luxury of the prices here. Definitely recommend for special occasions.
I booked a 7pm reservation for a table of ten. Our table was not ready until 7:30. It then took almost an hour to get our food. Even people who arrived after us received their food before us. This would normally be annoying, but maybe not terribly frustrating, except I had my one year old son with me and anticipated on being out the door and headed for home by 8:30 or so. Instead, due to the table being ready late and the food taking an hour, we didn't leave until almost 9:30pm. Food was the typical McCormick and Schmick fair, but I was really bummed that the service was so lackluster. Probably won't ever come again if I am on a timeline.
Service was slow. Made a reservation and still had to wait. Good was just ok.
The biggest problem was service. I had made a reservation in advance for birthday celebration and we got a nice table with a VIP card on it. Unfortunately we were treated no where near VIP. The service was horrible and our waiter blamed it on the theatres matinee being let out and they got slammed. Well, in my opinion we still should have been VIP service wise. After all we made “RESERVATIONS” ahead of time! We were virtually mostly ignored and only got attention when we had to get up and flag someone down to help us. Then the food.....certainly not worth the hassle and waste of 2 hours we had to spend there.
Our evening dinner would be considered mixed, most of the food was excellent, but some was mediocre. The overall experience was not what we have come to expect from what used to be a first class restaurant. The whole place seems to need some kind of facelift.
Kathy was a wonderful waitperson, and fun to talk to. thanks
Horrible service and freezer burnt king crab
Always great food, service and venue. We will continue going as we have time.
Food was just OK. Service was spotty. We had to request our waiter twice. I thought it would be better. My experience with other McCormick locations has been better.
Had a wonderful time great place to have dinner. I had the steak cooked the way I like it . My husband and I love the view we sat at the window seating just had a great time over all.
They went out of their way to make our celebration for my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary very special. the only thing that could have been better would have been that the walk way was a bit wider to accommodate seating and walkers/strollers so were not continually having to scoot in to accommodate. otherwise it was amazing.
It really nice. The food was fantastic. The waitress was very nice and fast. We didn’t have to wait very long at all for our dinner. All in all, it’s a 5 star to me.
The Salmon was amazing! My wife and I shared an app and entrée for Valentines Day and felt it was a good value and quite tasty. Limited GF options, but we were able to find our way through the menu option with help from the waitress
My girlfriend and I had our first Valentine’s Day together and I wanted to go somewhere special. I got a reservation at M&S and we were seated early. The staff were friendly, and our waiter Austin was fantastic. I’m clueless when it comes to which drink should go with what and his suggestion helped. We’d definitely like to go there again.
