McCormick & Schmick's Harborside - Portland
Book your next event with us
Lovely atmosphere along the Portland Waterfront at the south end of Waterfront Park overlooking the marina. Great service, wonderful food. Outside seating is very nice.
We had a lovely time. The only thing that would have made it absolutely perfect is our green beans were cooked rather poorly, but everything else was phenomenal. We got the Filet & Stuffed Shrimp, the Steelhead, the King Crab Scampi, and the Seafood Trio with Stuffed Shrimp, Salmon and Grilled Shrimp, and would recommend any of it.
Lunch or dinner on the patio is a special treat this time of year. The food is well prepared and the people watching is top notch. I do have a request of management. Consider, even better, adopt the practice of offering half portions of dishes like the salmon rigatoni. It is delicious but well beyond ample. This would be much appreciated by many of us senior folk who grew up with a "finish your dinner" rule, but who really don't need the extra calories. ( Taking home part of a fish based dish is not appealing.
The food was delish and the service was great. We sat outside and our server was outstanding. We will definitely be back!!
Great meal and great service. We sat outside and enjoyed the day.
Great place for celebration
Waterfront is beautiful place food was great our waiter was supper nice
Always a great meal and excellent service when visiting The Harborside!
It was the perfect place to entertain our out-of-state friends. The portions were quite small for the price, but everyone was happy with their food and we loved sitting outside near the waterfront.
Lots of fried foods, extremely salty and over-priced. Nice place, great location and easy to park are virtues spoiled by the actual eating.
The entire dining experience was wonderful. The servers were great and our server was very good with wine recommendations.
Decent food, pricey for value, but good waitress.. Hostess a bit brash.
Always such amazing food and service! I loved the tiered seating and having a view. 💜
We had a family tradition to eat a late dinner outside at McCormicks and watch the fireworks for the past 4 years. I make a reservation a month ahead of time and confirm with the restaurant days before that we will be sitting outside. This year when we got there, the patio manager told us that they have never allowed for outside reservations and we were inside. After explaining that we do this every year for the past 4 years and I even confirmed days before with an employee, he insinuated I was lying and was quite rude to me. We eat out a lot and i don’t think i have ever had a manager show such poor customer service and refuse to find a solution . After much back & forth with my husband, he finally found us a table outside and offered to buy us appetizers and dessert (which he didn’t do). While we ended up with a table the real saving grace was our server. He was so nice and was probably one of the best servers I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. He turned what was starting to be a blah evening Into a nice one. By the time the fireworks started, we had all moved on from the frustration and being talked down to at the start of our dinner.
Great food, setting and service.
I have a question...why don’t I receive any points for my reservation?
Our annual 4th of July tradition. Lovely view, delicious food, excellent service.
The salad had very little lettuce. The lobster bisque was a butter bowl and very small. The waiter didn’t know the menu but was a nice kid. I’ve had amazing meals there. That day wasn’t one of them.
Never wrote a review before.. My food must Of sat under heat lamp or been popped in the microwave last min because had that withered look and the lobster was dried out.. my mash potatoes were actually cold which was surprising because of the dry crust created by a heat lamp/ and it reheat, my steak was ok, nothing to rave about.. was not cooked to the temp I ordered but that rarely happened.. by the time my recooked lobster came I was through my steak and my wife was done with her food. The difference between the two lobsters where night and day., I left it there.. hopefully the manager used it as a tool to help educate his staff oh about the manager .. I did here him after looking over at me say very loudly.. (after I told the waiter that my lobster was dried up) “oh I saw that coming” i’m not sure if he was talking about me or if he saw the plate before it landed on my table or just talking out loud.. either way it sounded very rude..
Restaurants have to be consistent.. it’s not an easy task and I’ve worked in a variety of restaurants in my younger years so I know how hard it is. I also have employees myself so I know how hard it is to manage employees.
That being said when you go out to a restaurant the bare minimum expectation is that it’s equal or better than what you can do at home ... this was neither...
On the plus they did condo my lobster and mash cause I didn’t eat it.. which I did not ask for or want.. that was not my thing., I see people botch and Moab all the time for Free stuff that is definitely not me..
My wife loved her fish so I was happy for that
Excellent food and service! We sat outside on the harbor front and enjoyed the river and sunshine. Service was extremely good with minimal wait time.
Menu had something for everyone and was a very reasonable price range.
Standard of food was great very flavorful and sensible portions. What I like about these restaurants is you get high end service and decor plus high quality product for reasonable prices, - and try the desserts OMG!!
The view of the water was outstanding. The birthday treat was a nice touch. The fish portion seemed small and was good but not outstanding.
Awesome value. Amazing meal. Great service. Exceptional happy hour prior to dinner.
we had a table outside, facing harbor. Tasty see food, good ambiance, great service. A minor criticism is the silverware, which looked a bit worn out and old.
We enjoyed a great meal with a beautiful view and impeccable service.
Excellent food, friendly prompt professional service. Terrible coffee. I will return but will skip the coffee!
Beautiful view server was amazing. The food was excellent. It was cold outside so we didn't get to walk outside after but very quiet and we enjoyed our dinner
Service was a little slow to start with, food was good though not everything on the plate was served hot, portions were more than adequate, view was delightful, and a mistake in our order was quickly taken care of. Not a fabulously wonderful time but certainly a pleasant one.
It was a busy night but the server and everyone else made us feel special for a birthday celebration. Well done to the entire team.
The food was excellent. The service was cheerful and helpful but they seemed a bit understaffed at the time. We had to ask for things a couple of times. It was not annoying however.
Wonderful food and service!!!! We’ll definitely be back!
Food and location was great, service was very slow.
We went here after our daughter's graduation, and we had a wonderful time. The staff were really helpful and attentive, and the food was fantastic. I recommend the octopus starter, the ribeye steak, and the steelhead trout. But, the best part is the view! Great place for a special occasion.
One of the staff, Skye, was rude to both my partner and I when I asked to sit in the patio.
No happy hour on a holiday? We went on father’s Day thought there would be happy hour. Service was okay. Food is a bit pricey
This restaurant is not as nice as the Seattle/Bellevue location. Its view of the river is great but the service was poor, there was a smell coming from outside the restaurant and the food was nothing to rave about. It was worth the trial but I wouldn't go back again.
Our meals were very good. My blackened Rockfish was outstanding and the kids meals are very reasonably priced. Specialty drinks were a hit and the oyster shooters from Hodd Canal were the BEST.
Food and service always amazing. Our go to place on the river
The fish is always very good but was disappointed with the dungeness crab tower, the crab tasted a little fishy or canned. The brie/crab/shrimp stuffed salmon used to be a bit more impressive in size and presentation but still tasted great. Amazing view and location at Harborside! In general this is usually a reliable spot for excellent fish and a very nice atmosphere especially for sunny days eating outside. Although the location is better at Harborside, I think the food might be a slightly better at the Bridgeport Village location. It may have just been a one off thing night though.
Our mixed drink (gin and tonic) was terrible. The bartender either forgot the tonic water or didn’t use the right proportion. Bill for two short drinks was over $20. Dinner seemed a bit overcooked for everyone at our table. My shrimp were like rubber; way overdone. Ordered the seafood trio and it was drenched in butter. We will not go there again.
Delicious as always. Great service, food awesome, and great environment. One of my favs!!
The food was amazing. The service was very nice. They made a special dish for my daughter who is a vegetarian and it was superb.
Waiter was super slow. Screwed up our drink orders and then had attitude about it. Did not come back to check on us often enough. Screwed up our bill (4) times.
