We had a great experience!!! Outstanding service! The food was delicious!
The food was great, although, the salmon entree was sold out. so my company had to choose something else. Our waitress was very sloppy. She brought things on time, but when we ordered cocktails, she threw the napkins on the table landing on my plate, rather than placing it on the table. When she poured the water, it splashed everywhere. That was the first time I’ve seen a waiter pour water so sloppy, whether it be from IHOP to a high end restaurant. The water splashed on my plates and my utensils. She should probably go through some etiquette training to serve future customers. She didn’t even apologize to try and clean it up.
It was our anniversary. They printed special menus that had a message to us personally. We had the special salmon. It was excellent. We would definitely come back
It was a very night given Valentine’s Day but Meg did a good job checking in on us. The rest of the dinner date was very dissatisfying and unpleasant.
The reservation was a few minutes late but the restaurant was very busy so it is understandable. Service was very good and the food was delicious. Overall a great expierance.
Food was excellent. Service was lacking. Like our waitress forgot we were there. Other diners seated after were served first. No acknowledgement of our special occasion, my wife’s birthday. Pretty disappointing experience overall.
We had a nice Valentines dinner however, we were seated at a 2 top round in the bar right next to a post with coat hangers. With the coats hanging there, there was not enough room to sit comfortably without the coats in my shoulder or I was sitting in the traffic isle. The table was very wobbly so an attendant put napkins under a couple of the legs which stopped the wobble but the table was uneven and leaned. It ended up being not a big deal, just a little bit uncomfortable. I mention this because there were some tables in the lounge area that were not filled during our dinner and I would think that maybe this table would have been one of the last to be used. I understand Valentines Day is a very busy dining night and as a restaurant you need to maximize seating to try and accommodate all that want to dine out for a nice dinner. The food was excellent and we will probably be back but we were a bit uncomfortable with the seating.
One of our favorite places with good food, great ambiance and great service.
Went to M&S’s for Valentine’s Day. Seated promptly, great service and the food was very nicely prepared. Not the most inexpensive, but still a very nice and enjoyable experience. We also enjoy their Happy Hour. Great eats and great value!!!! We will be returning again soon!
Service was great, food so so, portions very small. Not a very good table for an intimate date with your fiancee. I had a reservation, and the restaurant sat at a table between the bar and some other tables. I asked if there were any other seating available. They found another table for us cramped up against the wall near a passage way to the front door, and waiting area. I guess we were expecting a nice table for two in a secluded area with a little ambiance.
Anyway the staff was great. The service was great. The seating and food were not so great. I can't recommend this restaurant for more than a drink after work, or perhaps a social gathering for some drinks.
Very good to excellent as usual for this restaurant. One of us had wedge salad and appetizer of coconut prawns- was very tasty and enough for a meal. One had 3 course special - walnut and greens salad starter, steak medallions and scampi with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies, followed by warm yummy chocolate molten cake - all enough for large appetite. Excellent dinner at reasonable price. I have found all my McCormick experiences consistently very good to excellent.
The service was so slow. Food was good. Good variety of entrees.
The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. Food was average, but well-presented. Desserts were spectacular. Great place for a long leisurely lunch.
FOOD WAS PERFECTLY PREPARED. EVEN THOUGH DINNER WE CHOSE WAS A THREE-COURSE SPECIAL, NONE OF THE COURSES WERE COMPROMISED - ALL EXCELLENT AND GOOD PORTIONS.
SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING. SERVER (MARILYN?) WAS SEASONED PRO, NEVER RUSHED US, ANTICIPATED NEEDS BEFORE THEY WERE REQUESTED. A MOST WELCOME CHANGE FROM THE ALL-TOO-FREQUENT HURRY-UP-AND-TURN-THE-TABLE-OVER SCENARIO AT MOST RESTAURANTS CURRENTLY. BRAVO!
Pre Valentine’s Day dinner
This was our first time visiting a McCormick & Schmick's, even though we've had many friends who have frequented them often. We decided to give this location a chance because we had advanced screening tickets for a movie last night in the Bridgeport complex. We arrived early, around 4:15 for our 4:30 reservation, and were promptly seated. Unfortunately we were seated right under an air vent and we asked to be moved because it was frigid, and our server was very nice and took care of the move. The food wasn't horrible, a little bland and under seasoned, but overall not awful. Our biggest complaint was the pacing. We ended up being there for almost two hours, and we only had an appetizer and two entrees. We ordered dessert, but waited almost 30 minutes for it to arrive, and it never did. We had to tell our server to cancel it, and unfortunately, we still ended up missing our advanced screening. We consider ourselves to be pretty understanding, I was a server for over 7 years, but the pacing for our meal was so slow. We rarely saw our server after she took our order, she never refilled our water glasses and we were responsible for refilling our wine glasses as well (which doesn't bother me, but does some). The server did apologize for the dessert never coming out and said that a banquet order had gotten in before ours, but that was it. Overall, not a horrible experience, but not an experience that would lead my husband and I to return. I will admit I was most disappointed about not getting the dessert, as I have had so many people rave about the chocolate bag there. I think in the future, we will make certain to let our server know we are on a schedule so that this doesn't happen again. Sadly, this was our Valentine's Day celebration, and there wasn't much to celebrate.
First time won’t be the last. Thank you for a memorable dinner. Wonderful dinner and service
My friends and I had a Bon Voyage party for one of us. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The food was a little on the expensive side but worth it for the quality of the food, service, and restaurant ambience. We had a great time.
Great service we had a three year old and a ten year old made sure our three year old had food and milk to start made for great adult conversation. Took care of us all made sure orders and drinks were what we ordered and prepared correctly . We all agreed great service food and drinks!
Service was good but the food was not worth the price.
Best seafood restaurant and beautiful original dishes. Lobster Cobb Tower is amazing!
Hugely disappointing service, waitress seemed to forget about as we had to request water and bread multiple times. Food came from the kitchen cold. Usually they are pretty good but not this evening. The resturant was not even that busy
Will not go back. Dinner for 6 was 170.00 and the service was terrible and goodbye was just ok.
Ordered the crab appetizer and you could smell it before it reached our table. Tried to take a bite but it tasted like it had been sitting out for too long. Even our server seemed put off by it. She switched it for a coconut shrimp which was good. Had a nice time, I enjoy coming here when I visit Portland and hope this was a one time mistake by the chef.
Food tasted good, shrimp was tough and hard to cut, rest of Ultimate Mixed Grill was very good. Discussed with manager, who said they were adapting to a new shrimp supplier. We were treated very well by our server and the manager.
A bit slow of service; weren’t even asked about dessert, which quite frankly would’ve meant another half hour of wait.
I have eaten at McCormicks for many years. Before it was Landrys, it was good enough. Since Landry’s took over, very hit and miss. We go to this restaurant because it is comfortable, easy to have conversation and usually the food is edible. This visit the service was mediocre. It took forever to get our food. The waitress seemed over whelmed since she rarely checked back. We had to ask for things she should have been offering, like a basket of warm bread for example. There was no one refilling water or when we had coffee at the end, no refills and took forever to get our bill.
The food was underwhelming to say the least. I was disappointed because in the last year or so, it had improved a lot. But this night it was pretty bad and the overall experience disappointing. My salad was dismal and looking at my friend’s plates, their food didn’t look good. This was a gathering of friends who had not seen each other for years, so the food was not the important part. I really like the atmosphere and when this restaurant is “on”, the food is pretty good for a huge chain and service the same. I won’t be going back unless someone wants to have a meeting or event there.
It was our 40th wedding anniversary and we were celebrating with 2 other life long couples. I mentioned it was our anniversary in my reservation and not that we were expecting anything other than an acknowledgement but it would have been nice. The service was very poor. We couldn't even get our water glasses filled. My husband got up and grabbed a pitcher. My friend asked for extra dressing and never received it. We were asked if we would like steak knives and we said yes, never received them. On top of that we were there nearly 3 hours and it simply took forever to get anything and we had to initiate getting our dessert. The only saving grace was that we were there with great friends and the food was good, not all as hot as it should have been but good.
Red Lobster used to be our favorite restaurant, but we have become more and more disappointed with them. McCormick and Schmick's Grill is a little pricier, but well worth it!
Our server was outstanding. I don't recall his name. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, without being obnoxious. Special thanks!
