McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Celebrated my dad's birthday here. The xmas decorations were stunning...very festive. The restaurant was packed with many large parties so there were a few gaps between courses, but overall excellent. The heirloom tomato salad I think should be a summer dish as the tomatoes lacked flavor and texture, but the filet & lobster were perfectly prepared and delicious..as good or better than any steakhouse. The blueberry cobbler was the standout dessert.
Came here to celebrate a special occasion with my husband and two children. The food was very good - the seafood was fresh, the filet mignon was cooked medium to perfection and the kids devoured their chicken quesadilla and hamburger. The best thing about the dining experience was the excellent service. Ida made our night. She was engaging, polite and catered to every one of our requests. Love her! Go Trojans!!!
The chairs/table was a bit uncomfortable for 10 people. The appetizers were pretty good, and the wines we selected were good. The entree crab legs seemed dry/reheated, and the tuna seemed frozen/reheated as well. The restaurant did make a special, off the menu plate for a vegan option which seemed fresh and was quite tasty.
We had a 7:30pm dinner reservation, while we were there for 2 hours our waiter came to our table 3 times. (This included ordering drinks, then dinner, then asking for the check). We wanted to order more drinks but the waiter never came. We also ran out of water and had to flag down other staff to get refills. I would never return to this restarnaut again.
We dined here at 7 pm on a Friday night. We were early, but they seated us right away. The service was first rate. When our waiter noticed we wanted to linger over cocktails, he left us alone until we were ready to order. I had a very good Clam Chowder, followed by Swordfish Casino, a swordfish steak on top of sauteed spinach & topped with Dungeness Crab. It was hot & delicious. My wife had a baby green salad with walnuts and blue cheese chunks, followed by an excellent Seafood Newberg. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with lots of wood & floor to ceiling windows overlooking San Francisco Bay. Noise level is a bit high, but you can still have a conversation without straining. Decent wine list.
They were overbooked and our reservation was at 8:30 and we didn’t get our table until over an hour later. I wouldn’t have a problem with the wait but after waiting over an hour they put us at the smallest table for two that I’ve ever seen! The table was the built for children and for normal size adults 6 ft or less inches tall. The problem for me is I’m 6’11 and there were bigger tables for two in the restaurant. We saw tables that could sit 6 or more with only 2 people at them but he gave us the doll house table. After spending over $200 at this place we were very disappointed in the maitre d because after waiting over an hour and him not just seeing how tall I was but commenting about it we really thought he would sit us at a larger table. Our table was so small that you couldn’t have more than 3 to 4 things on at a time.
We booked well ahead of time for thanksgiving. It was especially important as we were without family for the first time. This restaurant had such a good reputation. However it was a major disappointment for us. It started with the restaurant being overbooked. Thus the reception area and outside were packed with people waiting to get in. Average wait time was 45 minutes beyond reservation time. Crowded, customers anxious, host stressed and short with people. So the whole experience was stressful. A good part was our waitress. Extremely attentive given the stress she was under. Not a happy thanksgiving
Went on Thanksgiving. Bit of a wait however, the staff keeps track of those with reservations and gets you seated within a reasonable timeframe. Food is good and wait staff is very attentive and always gratiously attends to special requests. Have never been disappointed at this restaurant.
Have been to this restaurant before, and really liked it. I realize that we did go on Thanksgiving but that is no excuse to serve old, pithy crab. I was so disappointed as I only order crab when I come to San Francisco. We are from Los Angeles and come here to visit our son who lives here. With all the wonderful restaurants in San Francisco, we will probably check out another one next time we come up.
Just had a wonderful Thanksgiving buffet dinner at McCormick’s. It was excellent. The diversity of food met all of our group’s likes. The prime rib roast was better than I expected for a buffet. The Thanksgiving sides were delicious as was the shrimp cocktail , sushi and crab claws. My husband said the turkey and pork loin were also good. Obviously, we ate too much! And the service was delightful. It was so busy but the staff were all smiling and happy. This is becoming an annual tradition for us! The best part- no dishes to wash after a big Thanksgiving meal!
Such great food until the end where the desserts were the same boring little mini bite size pies that we’ve seen for the past three hrs. They look like they came out of a box from Target or COSTCO. No imagination or creativity at all.
Gotta wonder - WHY DO THAT???
We were along w a number of others there VERY SAD about the lack of quality desserts- the thing that’s supposed to put the proverbial cherry on top of the entire experience 😞
Our third year coming to your place for TG...already rethinking it for 2018...😟
Went to Thanksgiving buffet which was great last year. The food this time was at best edible. Mostly cold. The deserts consisted of various filled tiny crusts filled with stuff .
Our waiter was friendly but was WAY too aggressive trying to sell the Landry's club card deal thing. Would not stop. Had to beg him to bus our table of dirty dishes.
I'm happy to report that McCormick & Kuleto's is just as outstanding as it has been for years now. The view of the Bay is timeless, and our lunch was just as good as the view. The Petrale Sole was delicious, the Stuffed Atlantic Salmon was cooked perfectly, and the Bloody Marys were delicious. And don't miss the homemade Butterscotch Pudding. Wow!
Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the whole experience was a joy.
Nice going, M&K!
It was a busy Sat evening. We were running 30mins behind due to traffic. The Front Desk was able to accommodate which I appreciate. Our server Kristin was awesome & attentive. The drinks coming from the Bar were quick & tasty. Dishes, silverware, & glasses were clean. Bathroom wasn’t messy either. No issues there.
We experienced slowness from the Kitchen. I think part of the issue was that there was a wedding reception of 20-30 people & a couple other large tables that slowed down the flow of food. There were temperature inconsistencies with our food. Some food was hot while other things were warm. I hadn’t experienced service like this at this location before.
The food ended up being hit or miss. The crab & lobster dip, smoked beef carpaccio, sweet potato fries, & warm chocolate flourless cake were hits.
All in all, I would go back. I’ve been here a few times over the years & experience good service from the Servers & the Kitchen. I’m hoping this was just an off night & not the new normal.
My husband and I traveled to the area and trip advisor suggested in my searching to eat here. I was excited to see Alaskan King crab legs as an entree. Much to our disappointment the service was not great as the server never asked my husband if he wanted a drink refill and only checked on us once. In addition, the food was poor. For the prices, this was a disappointing dining experience overall and not one I would recommend.
We got robbed while we thought we where fine dining. Poor location food was ok our waitress needed to working at Dennys. Will never go back again. Need security camera and a feeling g of being safe when in that type of environment paying that kind of money .
Come for the view, stay for the food and drinks. Every time we visit San Francisco, we make it a point to come here. The view is beyond spectacular and the table service is high class. Of course, they specialize in seafood and they do it well. I had a mishap with a personal item and they couldn't have been more accommodating about getting it back to me, in short, they went above and beyond the call. Love this place!
