We had an amazing meal at Mazza and equally amazing service from Star.
We started with the whipped yogurt and stewed tomato dip as well as the Jerusalem Flatbread and they were great.
For our main course we shared the Chicken Tikka Meatballs and Roasted Cauliflower - both excellent - as well as the Avocado and Palm Salad with feta which did not disappoint.
As noted, our server was Star and besides having a cool name, she was very attentive and checked in frequently.
The only negative was their $4 charge per soda with no refills. I know very few restaurants these days that have a no refill policy and to make matters worse, the 2nd one I ordered was in a much smaller glass.
This was the only reason I did not give them an outstanding rating across all categories.
Fantastic food and great portions. The drinks were wonderful and the service was also very good!
Our first time at Mazza Modern Kitchen and we had mixed opinions on the food and the restaurant in general. I liked the appetizer of Babaganoush and my entree of the Uzbek Palov. My wife didn't like the appetizer nor her lamb kabob. The service was OK; we had to ask for anything we needed. The restaurant was noisy with several large parties. It is not inexpensive, but the portions are ample. All in all, we probably won't return.
The spreads were excellent and the beef skewers were a highlight. Didn’t love the tikka chicken meatballs, but they were nicely prepared. Our server, Star, was fantastic. I’ll be back.
Excellent food and service!
The food is amazing!!! We will for sure be coming back. Great service too!
We went there with a reservation but they told us their kitchen is closed and they can’t serve us. They say us down after I complained that I drove all the way there and appeared very upset. In fact not only they weren’t closed they had people dining there and left after we did. Their kitchen was fully open and they were serving their employees. Very rude!
Food was good, horrible waiter.
The whole dining experience was not good because of the waiter
The food is amazing very unique and special the service is very good the alcohol is great in the restaurant is very nice clean and quiet very highly recommended
The absolute perfection of all of their food exceeded our expectations. The service was tremendous and friendly. Don't be fooled by the restaurant pics, because it was lovely sitting on the terrace by the open windows and sunset, stone floor, and decorative iron gates. ONLY accolades for this gem!
We sat outside and the tables were perfectly placed.
Great place to do a girls night out. Happy Hour is 5-7pm with good food choices. Wine by the glass is half off. Definitely get the flatbread. Delicious.
I recommend the outdoor terrace, except when the temperature is over 90degrees. It can get very hot, but that was our choice. They have shades which can be raised and lower for the afternoon sun.
This was my second time visiting. The previous time when the temperature was a bit cooler. It was perfect.
We had a reservation and they had already closed the kitchen when we arrived. We had to go somewhere else.
The service is very good. We enjoyed the chicken Tikka appetizers. We had 2 different lamb dishes, they were good, not exceptional, prices on the high side. We would go back again to try something else.
Had a wonderful dinner. The food was delicious and our server Agnes was really attentive. We had the roasted cauliflower, Florentine Khacapuri and chicken shish kebab. All three dishes were perfect for sharing.
The regular dinner prices are too high for me. But the happy hour was perfect! Food was great, we could sit outside away from others (for COVID safety) and the music was quiet enough to be soothing but allow for conversation. Enjoyed it! Hope they open up for lunch - would be a great meeting place.
Our second time here. Service was wonderful and attentive. Tried the plov; found it good but not exceptional. Hummus, on the other hand, was stupendous; would come back for that alone! Well worth revisiting.
I've paid Mazza multiple visits and enjoyed everything about it every time. The food is great, as is the service, and they offer outdoor seating that's charming and feels safe.
Fantastic food and great service - really really enjoyed. Came for my partner’s mother’s birthday and we were so impressed with the quality! All of the happy hour items were delicious and the tikka meatballs were awesome. Moroccan fried chicken is a highlight for sure!
We were seated on the patio and it was very hot. They didn’t have fans or misters and it was unbearable.
The food was great. The service, now for the 3rd time was really bad. We tried to give it a chance… after the first time. But the second and third time were just as bad and even worse this last time. Same server.
Maybe we will just do take out next time.
Great food! Great atmosphere! Highly recommend this place - especially happy hour.
The food was amazing, the service was not. The server was pleasant but never returned to check on us after someone else brought the food. It’s on the expensive side but is a unique and delicious menu.
Great innovation menu & food. Some food was familiar like kabob but also others we were unfamiliar with. Everything was well seasoned & delicious.Staff was attentive. A bit noisy & music a bit loud but otherwise very pleasant.
This is an amazing restaurant!!! The food is so good and different. You will not be disappointed. Love to see this place make it.
Wonderful food with interesting and creative variety
It’s a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous and tasty food very unique highly recommend
Excellent food - a great menu that covers the Mediterranean and Middle East, from Morocco to Uzbekistan. Even familiar Mediterranean dishes are elevated here - like the outstanding babaganoush made with truffled mushrooms. Great outdoor dining space and beautiful indoor area.
Staff was amazingly friendly and informative. When we raved to our waiter about the incredible kabobs, he brought over the head chef - who shared her secrets with us. An excellent experience, top to bottom.
We ordered a number of dishes family style and everything was excellent.
We had the best chicken kabobs we've ever eaten - so moist with an incredible flavor. The sweet/spicy shrimp appetizer, which wasn't cheap at $28 for 5 shrimp, was so incredibly hot that it was inedible - honestly. A real shame for the most expensive appetizer on the menu.
Also, we had 7:30pm reservations, had barely sat down, and the waiter told us that it was last call for alcoholic drinks to be served other than beer & wine. We were forced to order two drinks at once, even if we didn't know we'd want the second. Finally, my husband ordered a martini, straight up with no vermouth. They charged him for the drink, then a $2 surcharge for ordering it up, and another $2 surcharge for ordering it dry. If you're going to charge like that, just include it as one price. Giving us an itemization was tacky.
Calm environment. It would still be nice to have tablecloths on the tables.
It was delicious! Go
First time at the restaurant, the hummus is to die for! The service is excellent!!
This is a slightly but delicious new take on Middle Eastern food. Friend and I split the Little Gem and Feta Salad; Cold Smoked Salmon Fillet and Tandoori Bread. Service was good and we ate outside. I know there have been several restaurants over the years in this location in Laurel Plaza. We were early but the outside area filled up. I hope Mazza Modern sticks because i wan to go back and try other dishes.
The best Baba Ganoush I've ever had! The fish I ordered was spectacular. I can't wait to return.
Went for happy hour(5pm-7pm). There is a special happy hour menu and
most drinks are half price. The food was amazing. Everything was fantastic.
I would eat there again soon.
This was my second time dining at Mazza Modern Kitchen in Studio City.
Food was delicious..... which is the reason we went back.......
server messed up on our cocktail order, oh well.
They quickly rectified it and all were happy.
We liked Mazza -- food was good/tasty. Our drinks came after our appetizers arrived -- way too late and not sure why, it wasn't crowded in the restaurant. And the rhythm of bringing the food out needs some work. Our server could use a mentor.
We will definitely go back and we chalk it up to it being a new restaurant.
Excellent service and delicious food. Food quality is outstanding and reasonably priced. Servers and hosts are attentive and helpful. Casual and comfortable ambiance in mall setting.
Recommend highly if you like Mediterranean / Lebanese food.
