This place is amazing! A really energetic, lively vibe in the heart of Clarendon. We’ve been a few times, each time I order something different on the menu and each time it’s been beyond delicious. They offer generous portion sizes. I can’t wait to go back.
From the time we walked in to the restaurant everyone was attentive to our needs. Very friendly staff, the art work is beautiful and the food fresh and delicious.
Great food and great service
Waitress from Morocco and a sweetie.Delicious sophisticated food presented well./
We very much enjoyed our first meal here!! Our server was attentive and the dining selections were varied.
We enjoyed our evening out. Good fettechini and some sparkling wine!
Very slow service on a slow night. Pasta tasted old. Very subpar.
We had a great date night dinner: excellent food & setting. The only reason I gave service a "4," is that the server was assigned too many tables - not his fault. He was moving as quickly and professionally as possible. It was also a bit too noisy for us. We had a great experience overall' and plan to try again on a week night.
Clarendon desperately needed a good Italian restaurant and one finally arrived!
Great establishment with great food
Thank you to Mike for a very warm and accommodating experience. We had a great time! This was honestly the best food my wife and I have had in awhile.
Very friendly service and the chef came over to speak to us before dinner. Food was high quality and tasted excellent. We highly recommend.
This place was a great surprise. The menu is different from most Italian restaurants; the flavor and presentation of the dishes were outstanding. Will return!
We came for dinner Thursday evening with a large group and we were blown away by the outstanding service and delicious food- so we came back for lunch!
Very nice interior and patio Very quiet as well Plenty of authentic Italian dishes Please give them a try !
This was one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to in the US.
Except for the Tiramisu and Cannoli (too sweet - not many other flavors), the dishes were fantastic. We had three different Antipasti (Sautéed Calamari , Meatballs “Polpette”, Avocado Bruschetta), the Insalata Watermelon, and I ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Everything was super yummy - no leftovers. We were 7 people and everyone was happy. It's a bit on the pricy side, but I rather spend a little bit more and be really happy rather than less and it's only "meh". I am not going out for dinner often, so it needs to be really good when I do!
Service was a little slow but then again, this seems to be the case everywhere these days due to covid and staff shortages. I do recommend this place for the food, ambiance and friendly staff though.
Mazaro is a great restaurant with delicious food and a beautiful outdoor patio with an awning for raining days. We had the Branzino, watermelon salad and the Rustico pizza. Nothing was a disappointment. They have an authentic Italian pizza oven and you could taste the authentic flavors. One of the best pizza's in my humble opinion in the dc metro area. This was my second time in two weeks. I will definitely be returning.
The food and staff were both amazing! It was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while.
The food was not great - too much tomato sauce everywhere. Too expensive for quality and not at all authentic.
Perfect place! Quality meals with quality ingredients. The owner came over and greeted our table, super friendly. The service was quick and the drinks were amazing!
We were celebrating a birthday and they brought over a slice of cheesecake which was SUPERB!!! So make sure you save room for dessert!!
Everything on the menu is fantastic
We both really enjoyed the food.
We had a great dinner here! It was a bit dark when we first walked in so we had to ask them to make the lights brighter. It was a bit hard to hear the waiters initially - but overall service was good and we had a delicious meal. The menu is northern Italian and done very well, authentic - nice selection of pastas, risottos, protein forward entrees and pizzas. Nice decor. Good selection of wine with tasting notes which I appreciated. Will definitely be back!
Excellent food and service. No one rushed us, plenty of people came over to check on us and deliver our food. We were able to have a relaxing dinner after a long workday. Abe was a phenomenal waiter and very patient with our big group and made excellent recommendations. The next time we are in town, we will definitely have a meal or two here.
The atmosphere was very peaceful and since there wasn't a lot of people it was the best place for a quiet time. I tried the lobster ravioli and it was delicious, we had some wine and cocktails and they were great.
The food ranged from good to exceptional. The mushroom crostini would be a standout dish at any restaurant in Washington. Desert -- berry pie, chosen from four selections -- was far better than anticipated. The pasta main courses were also quite good. Service was gracious. I do note that the restaurant was *completely empty* at 7 PM on a Tuesday, which made for a strange vibe -- but this is not their fault: People should go there, because it is some of the best-prepared food in Arlington.
The ambience is great and the service is good, but the pasta carbonara was lackluster. Was eager to try it after a great meal there a couple of weeks ago, but the sauce was clumpy and cold. Disappointing.
Disappointed that the menu on their website was NOT the menu they had when we got there and they didn't have any of the 3 items from the online menu that I wanted. You had to pay for the bread, when usually it is complementary with meals. My veal chop was not at all what I expected - it was supposed to be "lightly fried" and instead it tasted deep fried. Literally, no flavor except the oil in the breading - and no taste of veal, what-so-ever. My husband had the Wellington dish and he too was disappointed with the flavor and preparation of the food. When I shared the disappointment with our waitress when she asked why I didn't want it boxed up, she offered me another entree (which I declined) and gave us a dessert on the house. At least there was an effort to make up for the less than satisfactory food. We will not go back.
Drinks are horrible and they don't know how to make mix drinks...
Very good staff, and excellent food. Pizza might be best in the area. Chicken parm also very good. Not a huge wine selection but high quality wines
The grilled caesar salad was a unique experience. Large pieces of grilled romaine with dressing, anchovies and croutons on the side. The sautéed calamari was a little chewy but the sauté was delicious. We soaked the croutons in the sauté...yum. The chicken parm was a little dry and not enough parm on it.
Everything was delicious! We had the sautéed calamari (so flavorful), caprese buffala (I’d skip this, I wanted it to be like the buffala in Italy and it just isn’t) cacio e Pepe (delicious) and the gnocchi (like little pillows!)
Service was wonderful! Great ambiance to sit outside.
The food was alright but service was quite slow. Took well over an hour to get two pasta dishes. Not super flavorful.
Very high-quality food. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Our favorite restaurant in Arlington - New York City quality Italian food that never disappoints. Cool vibe inside, too
Absolutely incredible restaurant. Such a hidden gem. This is a regular date night spot for me and my girlfriend. The service is amazing, food is top tier, and the overall atmosphere is so relaxing. 11/10 recommend. The Mushroom Risotto and Pasta alla Scoglio are some of our favorites.
Made reservation for lunch on Open Table when I got there they said they were closed for lunch oh well
Fantastic service and friendly staff. Food was delicious! Good music.
Loved to food, the service and the location
