Great food and service! Lovely outdoor ambiance. Highly recommend, bring friends to share and try different stuff.
OMG best food. Like being in Israel. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The hummus, za’tar outa, regular pita, broccoli, cauliflower, cous cous, and pomegranate salad all to die for!
Mazal had some of the best Israeli food I've ever tried - Not that the list is long. Regardless I would come back here again for an intimate meal with close friends or family or even for a date. They have an excellent natural wine selection which on it's own is a reason to visit. While the location is a bit rough around the edges, you're immediately transported once you walk through the doors. I can't wait to tell more people about this spot and go back again myself.
My only gripe might be parking. It's in an odd part of town and there's no lots or garages, only street parking. We got pretty lucky and found a spot quickly, but I feel that on a busy weekend, you might not have as good of luck.
OpenTable says these reviews need to be at least 50 characters, but I don't need 50 characters to tell you how much I love Mazal - ambiance, food, service, vibes, everything. Mazal is my happy place.
As an Israeli, I was impressed by the food and its authenticity. Some restaurants will use fusion or ingredients that aren't typically a part of the diet when interpreting a culture's cuisine. Mazal was 100% authentically Israeli, using high quality ingredient inputs.
I was thrilled to eat at Mazal and I knew that I could order pretty much everything to eat, being a vegetarian. The food quality was high and delicious! I loved the non-alcholic beer from Israel as I'm not a non-alcohol drinker.
Hannah is the best! We love the warm and welcoming energy at Mazal. It’s a great establishment and I would definitely recommend it!
Fabulous, incredible, remarkable, wonderful, delicious
LOVE U MAZAL, SEE U AGAIN SOON
Entrees are quite overpriced for the taste and portion. Similar restaurants with similar flavor profile offer better dishes and larger portions for less price. Not sure what the markup is for because it’s not reflected in the taste.
Mazal is a must go if you’re in LA. Great vibe, fantastic staff and food that will make you want to move to Israel with the first bite.
Definitely will make it back. Also, any fans of orange wine? Please try their selection.
The food was absolutely incredible and delicious, the spices used were fresh, the wine was fantastic and the service was great. Will most definitely be returning in the very near future.
The food is outstanding and meat lovers won’t miss the traditional protein. Every dish has so much flavor! Pro tip: order a side of labneh.
Extremely delicious, perfect meal to share with friends. Everything is delicious! Came here for my birthday and will be back many more times I'm sure!
Just an outstanding, low-key meal with authentic cuisine at a great cost.
Pretty poor customer service and the food was just okay
the food is fantastic and Home Made !!!. I haven't ate this type of food in ages. Every bite melts in your mouth. The Cauliflower salad, Humus, babaganoush, and Bourekas are out of this world. The fine wines are also exceptional. This restaurant belongs in a 5 star hotel.
Great food, great wine!
Mazal is my new favorite place that I will be frequenting often. Plates are shareable if you're up for sharing. We got the spicy tahini, hummus, red lentil soup, Maghrebi Potatoes, and the Charred Broccoli w/ Lemon Garlic Aioli. Everything was super flavorful, filling, and delicious! 10/10 would recommend!
So tasty and cute! Can’t wait to go back!
Delicious food— a really good value. Cannot wait to go back.
Food was delicious, well thought out. But the aesthetic/ambience was kitsch. And, I don't prefer club music while eating dinner. But the hummus, pita, beets, and salad made up for it!
Great food with interesting twists on Israeli/Moroccan classics. Can't way to go back and try more of their dishes!
We ate here for the first time to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and consider ourselves to be slight Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food "critics" in our own heads. The food, ambience, and service was incredible. Definitely surpassed our expectations and we certainly plan to be back in the near future. If you like Med food, I highly suggest this restaurant. I appreciated that the food was traditional yet still with a modern spin... and most importantly VEG friendly!
Everything was delicious. Wanted to try more dishes, but got too full!
The vibe, the food, the wine. All great. Our new favorite restaurant.
Been looking for great Israeli food in LA - I found it ! Amazing meal!
Great restaurant for vegetarians and vegans. I would say that expect to be a bit patient when waiting for food. Order some wine while you wait.
Great flavors, impeccable vibe, courteous staff - a hidden gem.
Stellar on every level!
Groovy spot with excellent wine and food. Might be one of my new favorites!
The food, the service and the wine selection here are all fantastic!
Some absolutely stellar dishes! We loved the hummus and the spicy tahini.
There's loads to love about this place and we'll be back to try more from the menu. I hope they add some more substantial dishes to the menu. Even though we were stuffed when we left, it didn't really feel like we had had a meal.
Bourekahs were disappointing - didn't feel home cooked in the way other items did.
Excellent wine choices and really nice atmosphere.
Amazing new restaurant! Great wine selection, and food options. Loved the vegan options!
Excellent food! Great all around. Looking forward to coming back.
This is my new favorite restaurant. I have been here twice and the food was incredible and the service was outstanding both times. Everything I’ve tried here was absolutely delicious.
The interior and patio are beautifully designed. It’s a perfect place for date night, special occasions, or just a nice weekday dinner out.
Had a wonderful time at Mazal. The food was delicious and perfect to share with friends. Great selection of beer/wines as well. Our server was very attentive. Recommend the goat cheese flat bread. They have the best pita bread I’ve ever tasted!
Incredible spot with amazing spreads! Ambiance is lovely and tons of fun with a group of friends. Killer wine list, def coming back for more very soon.
Food was amazing. Everything we tried was so tasty. The hummus was so fresh. The broccoli delicious. My large group enjoyed everything.
A wonderfully casual place to find well prepared and interesting Israeli food. Special shout out to the bourekas, flatbread, and also Ima's vegan date brownie. Also a very well selected wine list.
The ambiance would be massively improved by simply turning down the lighting brightness and putting out a few candles. Other than that, we had a great time and the food was amazing.
