Maysville is an American whiskey bar and restaurant with a menu of smoked and charred food and raw and chilled seafood.

The bar at Maysville features over 200 American whiskeys as well as an ample selection of Scotch, Irish, Canadian and Japanese whiskeys. Vodka, gin, rum and tequila lovers will also find their drink of choice in fine supply. Our obsession doesn't stop with whiskey and other spirits. A wine list deep in vintage and diversity and a carefully curated selection of over 20 beers round out the drink options.

My friends and I ordered 3 different apps and 3 different entrees. While the apps were ok, they weren't that memorable. We had the Hamachi and oysters. While they left much to be desired our entrees more than made up for that. We had the Dirty Rice Risotto, butchers cut steak, and the burger. All of which were EXCEPTIONAL! The only downside were the miniscule portions of the risotto and the steak, which was disappointing, both because they were delicious and quite pricey. At $28 for the Risotto and $29 for the steak one would expect more than a small bowl of 5 spoonfuls or rice and a very small portion of steak. Our drinks, which were also quite spicy werent too great either. They were quite lackluster and felt more like we were drinking juice. Despite the cons I would still visit again to try other menu items as our entrees were rich with flavor. I would just suggest staying away from seafood and cocktails as it isn't their strong point.

We were greeted warmly and our table was set and ready for us. From then on, we were rushed. We wanted to enjoy our appetizers while deciding on our main course. We were told we had to order everything at once. The server was attentive but cold. He acted as if he didn't want to be there at all and unfortunately, it showed clearly. The pork rinds were awesome! The deviled eggs were as basic as could be and $12 for four pieces (2 eggs) That's the price for three dozen.
The appetizers and cocktails arrived almost instantly, followed by dinner as soon as we took our last bite of the first course.
The tortellini dish included (no kidding) eight pieces that would have fit into a ramekin. Four bites and that meal was done. My fish was paper-thin, over breaded and over cooked (add overpriced considering its size). Desert was a simple Italian ice - made interesting with the addition of a few bits of (I think) sage leaves. Delicious but certainly not homemade. In all, we had two specialty cocktails from the extensive selection of bourbons (not bad at $14 a piece), two bourbons on the rocks, two appetizers, two dinners and one desert. Total (including a $30. gratuity), over $170. We'd expected more, left hungry and went out for dinner #2 about two hours later.
I'm hoping this was an off night for our server. We tip generously and would have expected a bit of an effort. That said, I hold no grudges and would return (for drinks) another time. The place is beautiful.

Out of several bourbons (basic stuff like Four Roses, nothing exotic) server didn’t bring one of our sides, and service was very slow. Enjoyed past dining experiences here, but may give it a 2nd though going forward. Lots of other places in NOMAD to explore

I used to come here with my fiancé when I lived in the neighborhood. This was roughly a year ago and we considered Maysville our special occasion restaurant. We loved everything about it including the service, food, drinks, and value. We have since moved but came back recently to visit our old favorite restaurant. While I didn’t expect the menu to be the same, the food quality has gone down significantly and many options have disappeared or changed for the worse. The cocktails have also suffered. The hostesses were warm and helpful but our waiter was rude and short with us.

We dined at Maysville a few months ago and really enjoyed the service and the food. We came back with a group of 7 and tonight , unfortunately, we were disappointed by both. The menu no longer offered the amazing crispy grits with ham piled on top but instead offered a very mediocre grit croquet with little flavor or panache.

The drink menu no longer offered the appealing Midnight Rambler and our waiter was less than accommodating in almost every regard.

Full disclosure: Maysville is one of my favorite restaurants in the boroughs, so my review is based on years of dining here.

First, the cocktail and spirits lists are really good, yet you don't need to imbibe when you dine at Maysville.

From the seasonings in the grits, sauces, and dressings to the details in plating to pairing of specific vegetables and starches to the design of and art in the restaurant to the exceptional service from front of house through table staff, Maysville is THE restaurant I take family, friends, dates, colleagues, and celebrants.

I know something about Southern food and specific elements here such as cornbread, barbecue sauce, vegetables, the inclusion of smoke and pork are superior.

Lastly, what sets Maysville apart from many borough restaurants is how brunch is not a cast off of lunch and dinner. It is a terrific meal.

When in NY my husband and I have eaten at Maysville several times. The food is always good. The last two times we have had a delightful waiter (originally from Sweden) who was very solicitous and had a nice sense of humor. The wines by the glass are very good, and of course, the liquor selection is extensive. Would definitely recommend Maysville.

Routinely impressed with the service here - gracious, fun, accommodating, convivial. That is reason alone to return, and it is coupled with deliciousness and robust amounts of brown liquor. Love ya, Maysville!

Hit up Maysviille for brunch. We had some appetizers and thought they were super overpriced. The shrimp toast was $15 for a tiny portion. Stick to the entrees for brunch, it may make more sense.

We are SO HAPPY with the new team!!! The food continues to be SENSATIONAL. We had an incredible experience last Friday night. With old friends like Lilly at the front door and Kiko on the floor, we felt right at home despite the change in management with the departure of Talia Berman, George and Kate who are all INCREDIBLE. For the new team, it could have been a tough act to follow BUT the blew it out of the park! BRAVO!!!

Always have an amazing experience at this place! If you are a whiskey lover you will be in heaven. The Crispy Grits appetizer is to die for. Staff is amazingly kind and friendly. Price is a little on the steep side, but you get what you pay for!

A great theme, beautiful space, limited menu, but consistently good service, great bourbon selection, and even some non-bourbon drinks and selections for those non-whiskey afficionados!

This might be THE most terrible experience I’ve had at a restaurant. My friends and I got together for our annual secret Santa brunch and I picked this restaurant as its location. BAD CHOICE! We were a large group and they were unprepared. Our server wasn’t nice at all. She was slow and gave attitude when called over. I think she might’ve been the only server that day, but they weren’t exceptionally busy and if she mentioned this we would’ve been understanding. But she didn’t. Rather she gave an attitude anytime we needed something.
My friend and I decided to share the burger—medium. When we FINALLY got our food, they cut our burger in half and gave us each our separate plate/portion. The burger was cold, not cool, COLD! We sent it back and asked they not cut it this time, we’d cut it ourselves. While waiting for our new burger, we dug into our appetizers—oysters and Arctic char tartar. The oysters were fine, but the tartar tasted weird. Someone else in our group order the tartar so we tried theirs to compare. Theirs tasted fresh, where ours didn’t. We called our server over, explained the situation and sent it back. She didn’t apologize or anything. Now back to the burger. They brought us a new burger plate, the bun and potatoes were hot, however when we looked at the burger itself, it was our original cut-in-half burger put on a new bun. Terrible! We were served a well done old burger. I’m still in shock that a pricey nyc restaurant/kitchen would think this is allowable. When we complained AGAIN our server looked at us blankly, didn’t apologize or offer any form of compensation.
We asked to see a manager who came over, apologized and offered us something else off the menu. At this point we were so turned off of this plate, we politely declined the offer. I think the mgr should’ve given an overall discount on the bill, but she didn’t. My friend I shared with and I left there having not eaten.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

The food and cocktails were creative and delicious. If you’re a whiskey fan, they have a very extensive menu of whiskeys and creative cocktails using them. Our waiter was nice but not very personable and although everything was delicious, the portions were small and a bit overpriced. I would go back there if I want fun vibes, delicious food and drinks, but wasn’t too hungry.

My family is from the Maysville, Kentucky area, which is what attracted me to the restaurant in the first place, in addition to the menu, reviews and the offerings of Bourbon. This was my second visit and Maysville lived up to my memories of the friendly staff, excellent food and the opportunity to try some new-to-me Bourbons. Thank you for another memorable evening.

Mayville was quiet when we arrived, but filling up after 1 pm. My chicken salad was not particularly good -- the chicken was flacid and the apple lacked crunch. The chocolate pudding was good.

The service was excellent.

The food has some high points and low points. I would stay away from breakfast sandwiches but run towards some of the nibble options. The service is not great. Our server never checked in on us (otherwise we would've ordered more drinks) and was very 'in and out' despite the place being pretty quiet. A high point for the restaurant: it is BEAUTIFUL. Gorgeous space.
