The gumbo on the coolinary menu was great. Ambiance is always great.
Great place with very creative food. Very enjoyable.
The food was wonderful. I had a pan-seared fish fillet that was just awesome. The bread is sooo good. The kitchen sends out little treats too, which just adds to the experience. The only downside was the chardonnay, which was weird and very unlike most chardonnays. They know it's weird too, which begs the question of why it's the house chardonnay.
Wonderful creative foodies. Stays new and fresh. Beautiful decor, spacious and quiet. Great for special occasions.
Excellent service. Charcuterie plate was an outstanding share plate for our table of 3. However we were less than impressed with the rest of the meal. The bib salad had too much dressing and the lettuce wilted under it. I told the waiter and he immediately relayed it to the kitchen. They took it off my bill without being prompted. Excellent service. Our other 2 entrees were cooked properly but lacked the seasoning that we would have preferred. That is just a preference however. Id3 try again with different dishes.
Cool place and food was good. Not a lot of menu choices but they had some great items. There were not all that crowded and the service was a little slow and unattentive.
Very nice place, pretty and clean. Interesting menu, all dishes were unheard of before, and takes a good bit of explanation. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the food.
Don’t go if you are afraid to try new taste.
OUTSTANDING….super creative and delicious
Love this restaurant but had not been since COVID. I went in with high expectations and was not disappointed.
Food very good
In an almost empty restaurant we were brought to the closest table to the kitchen and server station.
They became grumpy when we pointed to a better table and requested to be moved. We had reservations and were on time.
Put a palor in the meal.
Great restaurant, and great experience. It was small and intimate, noise level was perfect, and the food was delicious.
Great food, excellent service and a cute atmosphere
We loved it. I have been here many times. The new menu is off the charts
I was really excited about this meal going in, but it turned out very underwhelming. The quality of the ingredients and overall food quality was great; however, there was just way too much going on in each dish and they were VERY heavy. The most disappointing dish was the Tom Yum pasta dish, which our waitress talked us into. It cost over $20 and was terrible. Our waitress saw that we only took a few bits of it. She should have compt it, but didn't.
If you are looking for new flavors this is the place. Food is outstanding
Small Menu, Small portions, drinks were just ok, but were expensive. Will not be going back.
Inovated and great tasting
Maypop has become one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. The flavor combinations for all items are delicious. While the ambiance and service are simple and understated, the food is outstanding. If you are looking for an excellent meal, you cannot go wrong with Maypop.
Great food, great service, great time!
Do it! Book a table here. You will not regret it. The staff is welcoming, personable, knowledgeable and efficient. The food is AMAZING! The menu is inventive, well executed, creative and most importantly DELICIOUS! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!
Always exceptional. Great food and great service.
Good food and great service
some items were perfectly delicious but a couple of items were unbearably salty. The fried chicken dish had an overly salted fried egg and the potato salad was also salty. The soba noodle salad was extremely salty, it was only edible because the blueberries and peaches offered some relief. Everyone enjoyed the fried oysters, the salads and the gumbo. They were also very good about accommodating gluten allergies.
Adventurous menu with beautiful orchestra of flavors.
We are so happy to see the delicious and creativity of the cuisine and service back at Maypop! We will be back and we will bring friends!
Best restaurant in New Orleans. Celebrate there every time we are here.
Wonderful food and service. Will definitely be back.
I celebrated an anniversary at Maypop and it was fantastic! We received a few special items from the chef due to it being our anniversary. We tried the
Always a delight! Chef Michael’s dishes are inspired and well executed. His creativity, energy, and ingredients leave a lasting impression.
The food, as always, is innovative and delicious! The attention to detail allows each individual ingredient to shine in every bite!
Excellent gumbo, Bibb salad, and fried chicken. Fried oysters not good — breading was soggy, not at all crisp. But would go back. Very creative dishes.
Creative menu, fantastic service. Highly recommend! Definitely get the bread service. The braised lamb w\ roti bread and the gulf shrimp and sweet corn tom yum over pasta were both delicious as well.
Shout out our server michael? Amazing time
Limited, but excellent menu. Oysters always on menu and always fantastic. Flavors are novel and delicious. Spicy or mild options. Tasted chicken, drum, oysters, duck ham, charcuterie - all perfect! Vegetarian choices.
When Maypop first opened we were some of their first customers and have returned on multiple occasions.
Saturday was our first visit since Covid 19. It was outstanding with vibrant flavors, excellent service and a great ambience.
This was our first indoor restaurant experience since COVID. We wanted to make it special. So many times I have come home after eating out and thought I could have made it myself better. Not this time. The chef has an outstanding gift for mixing flavors, spices and fresh ingredients in a way that would be hard to replicate. It truly is an experience in flavor! The service was impecable down to the last detail. We will be back to taste everything else! My only problem was the level of loudness from the customers but that is pretty common in New Orleans restaurants.
Don’t miss out on this jewel of a restaurant!
Apps were good, but the entries were lacking. Cold food that felt pre-prepared.
It was a good experience but just a little too noisy and the food was great.
