I cant say enough good things about our experience here. from Cocktails, to apps , mains and dessert!
we have the lobster cups and salmon tartar . both were presented beautifully and were wonderful. The lobster was fresh and flavorful the Salmon tartar came smoked in a Bell jar, which was such a perfect subtle smoky hint.
We followed up with the Halibut, my wife loved it again cooked perfectly and had the petite filet on a bed of Cream -less corn - great pairing and cooked perfectly (ordered med rare). finished with a deconstructed vanilla bean cheese cake! Bravo! it was stunning on the plate and tasted even better.
Service was very friendly and attentive. Jeffery was our main server - and he was exceptional. perfect mix of friendly, advice offering and professional. the manager came by and was very sincere in her request for our opinion.
Yes - not cheap. but a good example of you get what you pay for. we will be back here for sure. as I want to try the Charcuterie plate that I saw go by, it had something flaming on the plate and looked amazing!
Amazing service. Good food. Such a great night out!
The entire experience was wonderful! From the host stand to valet, every interaction was genuine and welcoming. Server, Lindsey guided us through the entire menu and connected with us as a friend! Every dish that came out had unique flavors that made each bite a surprise. I had the garden gimlet cocktail to start which is the perfect mix of a “detox/retox” as it tasted like a healthy juice! Props to the kitchen for the scallops...perfect combination of flavors and textures. Morgan, the restaurant was fully engaged ensured we had a great time! Highly recommended.
We have been to the Mayor‘s table several times before and not had great experiences so we decided to try it again. We ordered some appetizers to include the charcuterie tray. I asked for extra pickled vegetables on the charcuterie tray that is $24 they charged us six dollars for extra vegetables that never arrived. When we ordered our dinner some of us wanted to have an alternate vegetable their answer was a simple no. If that’s not bad enough when we ordered dessert we wanted to add a scoop of ice cream to it and were told no. Even if you wanted to pay for anything extra they are extremely inflexible. Last summer they did not have dinner service at the bar and we stopped going because of that. Now they serve dinner at the bar. I hope it won’t take another year for management to understand that while chef driven kitchens are great when the chef makes restrictions that make diners unhappy and do not cater to the clients wishes business will suffer.
On a separate note the valet parking even after validation after our $600 dinner parking was still $34 dollars.
Not sure if this is because Marriot is now running this hotel or if they simply don’t care what their clients think about the experience.
Bday dessert was delicious!
Came in from Orlando and Had to try it out.
Everything was Great excepting the Oysters was really really Petite. I’ll recommend removing Oysters from Menu when they don’t have proper sizes
We had a brunch and chose to sit outside. Main boulevard was next to seating area and was a bit loud from traffic and congestion. Next time will sit inside. Food was very good and our waiter was terrific. Hotel was cute but caters to a younger crowd.
I loved the ambience and the service. I was not thrilled with the food selections. I had the hamburger. The meat was excellent and very well cooked. But just getting a patty, cheese, onion and bun with french fries didn't seem like a very good deal to me for $18.
Wonderful food and drinks, very attentive waiter, much appreciated!
Very small portions for the price they charged. Disappointing how businesses take advantage of people on such holidays.
We had a great experience and the food and service were amazing!
First visit and we loved it. Great ambiance and service. The food was delicious. The portions could be a bit more substantial, not so much the main ingredient but the accompanying items. However, we will definitely eat there again. :)
Not sure. Expected more. Good service
Menu limited. Portions small
Rooftop bar... like a spring break party
Sorry, not what I expected
The food was delicious. We went with our waitress suggestions and tried a little bit of several dishes by sharing. The halibut was perfect and surprisingly, the asparagus was the best ever (don't know what they did to it but it was truly perfect)
Everything was amazing from drinks to food. Our server Lindsay was so knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. My family had a great time and will most definitely be back.
Very small portions.
Service and food are by far the best around! If you do not eat here when you are in Newport you will miss out on an amazing experience!
That burger is indeed the best in OC.....the new drink list is sensational and whimsical....while the place had a somewhat rough start last year, it’s taking shape under the talented young chef’s leadership now!
The food was exceptionally good as was the presentation.. the photo shows the beautiful plate presentation and ambiance..
Went for Easter brunch. If you don't mind paying $55 for some salad, pancakes, one mini donut and one-half deviled egg then this is the place. Food was good, but not outstanding. Selection for brunch was poor and don' bother asking for more of anything because it isn't happening. Table for 6 and we received 5 mini-donuts (size of a small packaged Hostess donut) . Asked for more, received a look that could kill and never received any more.
Ridiculously over priced for overly fussy presentation and small portions. Stick to the bar!
The server was knowledgeable and very attentive to use. We sent a birthday dessert to another patron and the staff was so supportive and engaging as we made someone’s evening.
Would definitely return.
Waiters were very good at explaining the dishes etc. They understood we needed to 'catch up' before we ordered. Refills on water and ice tea handled promptly.
Not worth the price of admission. Too many better options in the area.
Fantastic place for brunch. This was our first time at Mayors Table and wow have they done an excellent job. The staff is extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Relaxing atmosphere, thoughtful menu, and talented bar staff will make you want to stay for a leisurely brunch.
Awful! Found a hair in our food and they charged us for the replacement meal!
Jeff was a phenomenal seever
Located inside the new Lido House Hotel , The Mayors Table where I recently hosted a family brunch. This place is virtually flawless, from the friendly , informed and attentive staff to the best waffles I’ve ever had. Just could not have been happier with this place. The menu offers something for everyone from vegetarians, gluten free and carnivores this place delivers. It’s got a great flow throughout the entire place. I can’t wait to go back for dinner!
Amazing service, cool vibes, and wonderful food. Had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an ice cream snack during our stay and enjoyed it every time! Loved the seafood chowder!
Exceptional dining experience. Service and food were worthy of the area.
Will definitely be back again with our family
This this inside a upscale hotel so the prices reflect that. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I will come back to try the rooftop bar as the view and atmosphere is wonderful.
Service was amazing along with the food. The seafood selection is perfect! Must try!
The waiter was very focused on making sure my husband was happy....not so much the other people in the group.
Everything was great! Loved the hotel, food and service. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Excellent food and service Would go back in a heartbeat
On menu it says Niçoise salad. We were so excited...,came with no salad greens, no potatoes, no green beans!!! That’s NOT a Niçoise salad!! Should say “non traditional Niçoise salad” or something. We asked if we could have greens. Chef said $5 extra. We said, really? Well ok. And wanted some green beans. We saw him talking with the waiter and then the chef started chopping like he was mad. Our salad was terrible and so disappointing. AND we were the ONLY people in there as we were making it a brunch at 11am. Beautiful surroundings. That’s it. And our waiter was very nice and felt badly about how it went!!
Great food, great service, the only downside would be the groups of 6 to 8 people who are loud and obnoxious. You just need to tune them out. Great place, they just need to better understand classy customers rather than the "one-time" customers who are loud, obnoxious and show up there one time.
High quality food and great service - that you pay for, fairly. Went off hour, and on a rainy day which made getting a table easy, which I’m guessing isn’t typical.
