   First time at Maynards. It was recommended by a coworker. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery. Our waitress was very attentive, kind, and had great suggestions. My boyfriend ordered the steak and I ordered the salmon. Both were quite flavorful. Our night was not as romantic and relaxing as we had planned thanks to a very intoxicated, loud female sitting at the table next to us. Although, we would return to this restaurant.

   I got the chicken mole, and the leg quarter may as well have been 2 chicken bones. The portion for the entree was so sparse, that immediately afterwards, I got food from a food truck across the street. The mole had a good spiciness level, but lacked the complexity that I’ve enjoyed in many other moles that I’ve tried. Overall, it was a pretty disappointing experience. I last went to Maynard’s a few years ago, and I remembered it being much better. The ambience and the service were really the only high points. Can’t remember ever paying so much for something so underwhelming.

   The service was ok a bit slow. The food was lukewarm and did not meet my expectations. Our server never came back to check on how our meal was. There was a busser/server attendant that was quite rude, never smiled and he seemed very irritated to be there. We won’t be back.

   Loved the cocktail, salad and dessert. Grouper entree was salty and too spicy. Waiter was polite but not to the usual standard - handed us the bill like it was a dinner and didn’t know much about the menu.

   Definitely do not go for a special occasion, they may forget your order (which is a fabulous 9 item menu) and not communicate to you for over an hour. The management of the situation was simply sad. I wish it was better. We had an unfortunate experience and will not be returning.

    We have had some beautiful experiences at Maynards in the past (pre-covid?) but this time around we were disappointed. Our expectations may have been to high. We especially were disappointed with our meals.

    I think they were a little overbooked last night because it took some time to get our drink order in but the manager (?) was so thoughtful and made sure we felt taken care of. Unfortunately our server seemed to be having a rough night and I have a lot of understanding, who hasn’t, but it did affect the speed and quality of service. It wasn’t as good as last time I went, last year, which was a bummer.

    What a disappointing meal. We dined here in November and had excellent food. This time around, the food items we ordered were largely inedible. Our server apologized numerous times for the kitchen staff, but to no avail. It took over two hours to receive bread, salad and one bowl of pasta - again, none of it was worth the wait!

    I dislike giving bad reviews, but feel the need to provide honest feedback to others who read reviews. I appreciate the same. Visiting from another state, I selected Maynard’s because of the great reviews. How disappointing it was. Very limited menu and very, very expensive for the portions and the quality. The restaurant taunts itself to be “foodie” like, the heirloom tomatoes and strawberry salad was hardly worth $20. Mole chicken for as small portion and nothing special. Crazy the restaurant would require a credit card to make a reservation. Definitely would not recommend.

    Great! At first the limited menu is a little disappointing, but everything on it is great! Locally sourced and daily changing, anyone can find something, even if you go often. The nearby active train tracks just add to the ambiance.

    We had a great dinner of appetizers and wine on the outdoor patio. Great ambiance, great service, great location. I ranked value at a 4-star only because I do think the food and wine is a bit expensive, but you can't beat the location. I would have liked for their website to have the dinner and wine menu accessible though...it used to be, but wasn't working prior to this visit. Will definitely keep coming back.

    Entrees should consist of the better part of a meal in my opinion. I ordered chicken mole which came with a chicken leg, a couple of onions and purple Brussel sprouts for $29. No rice, potatoes or even bread. My wife had a mushroom risotto for $20. All the food was prepared well but after a drink each, tax and tip the $84 bill was excessive. Won’t be back.

    The food is not what they describe, we order cauliflower, celery salad, meat with lavender mash potatoes and risotto. The meat was meat nothing wow, mash potatoes no lavender flavor as they said and the mushrooms were way over cooked. Cauliflower, bitter chili sauce, no salt tasted like bag chili powder. Celery salad flat flavor. The worst dish was the risotto, oh my God, was a undercooked rice with a lot of liquid and no flavor, no sal no nothing. Beside that, there were 2 tables that were extremely laud and rude. The table behind us with 4 people were talking on the phone on speaker, no body told them anything……..very rude

    We always come to Maynards when we are in Tucson. It is our favorite fine dining restaurant. We love the location in the train station with the option of inside or outside dining. The menu is not extensive but that reflects the effort that goes into every dish. Our server Cheyenne was awesome. She told us they have a new chef so it will be interesting to see what changes are coming. I’m sure the high quality we have come to expect will continue.

    Since the weather was very nice, we opted for sitting outside. The waiters were great, friendly, very accommodating for our little dog. They made a mistake on the bill, which they rectified immediately. The food (and cocktails) was very creative, great flavors, and just simply delicious. We had the fortune to see 3 trains pass while we enjoyed our dinner at Maynards. We would return any day!

    1. Found customer parking blocked on arrival. Would be useful to know that there will be no parking lot available. 2. After the food arrived we were completely ignored by our waiter (5 times trying to attract his attention as he passes us by). Had to leave after 15 minutes of waiting for a chance to order our desert. 3. Risotto is usually served with freshly grated parmesan and fresh pepper. 4. Checked the menu before reserving and a day before coming, making sure there is an item I can order (halibut). Not available once we arrived, not even on the menu given us. This used to be a great restaurant with excellent food and service. We were disappointed this time.

    Excellent food and wine in a charming dining room situated in an old train station. The steak tartare, the mushroom risotto and the carrot cake were all perfectly prepared and delicious. The wines by the glass paired very well with the food.

    The menu was interesting but very limited. Three entree choices: pasta with chicken (very little chicken!), salmon and steak. The waiter misled us about what veggies came with the pasta. BUT in spite of having very little chicken/protein, the pasta was delicious… and so was the salmon. We had a pleasant dinner and will return when we’re ready to splurge.

    It was our 8th anniversary and the staff assiste me in giving my wife her gifts. I hand out waiter a diamond and emerald pendant, and matching earrings, and they served them up on a bed of rice!!! Needless to say the wife was over the moon!!! What an amazing place to eat, drink and celebrate anything in this life!!! Definitely going back at least once a month!
