Perfect as always!
During these trying times, they offered congenial service, superb food & a place to feel comfort & a welcome refuge for this evening -& their fried chicken is to die for.
Hats off to Eric & the Chef
My husband and I used to frequent the Weds night Wellington but haven't been in awhile and were excited for that great first bite. Everything was wonderful until dessert, the Toffee Cake was ice cold and tasted burnt. I was also a little disappointed that they only carried black teas and chamomile which can seem heavy at the end of the meals. Our waitress and the staff quickly brought us ice cream on the house which was super kind and a great way to end the evening. We did feel that the pricing for the fries ($14) was outrageous even if they had truffle oil on them. For 1 glass of wine, frieds and two Wellington dinners ($72 together) we spent over $100..doesn't seem like a great deal.
This was for my husband’s birthday which I thought I put in my Open Table remark. They did nothing to show that they knew this. It seems to me that I have been there for other’s birthdays.
So I was surprised when nothing was fine. Was I supposed to say it was his birthday when we checked in? That was disappointing.
Not to mention having our car towed while we were dining. It was our fault. We misread an 8 to be a 6 pm.
Fried chicken, Beef Wellington and the Bee's Knees are my favorites. We like to drop in and eat casually in the bar and with friends in the dining room. Wonderful neighborhood gem!
My family and I love eating at Maybeck's . It has become a family tradition!
We. Love. Maybecks! Great pasta, Wellington, cocktails, food, service... everything!
Beef Wellington is without a doubt always on point and never disappoints. Must get there before 7pm to see the cutting ceremony. Service is also always friendly and cocktails are always great.
The service was lousy, took 30-40 mins to get our first round of drinks. Waitress took our food order an hour into sitting. I put down we were celebrating 3 engagements but it seems like they didn’t remember. We were super excited to come here and the food was good. But probably won’t be coming back.
Wow! Pleasantly had our expectations exceeded! Great service (Thanks Connor!). Loved the chicharones appetizer and the steak tartare. My husband had the linguini with clams and thoroughly enjoyed it. The highlight, however, was the molten chocolate cake!!
A great restaurant. Unfortunately they have been a meeting place for young very loud crowds at the bar. The noise is pervasive.
My ratings say it all. Except for being pricy, I really liked the food, my server and the comfortable upscale ambiance. The happy hour pricing was good, but the dinner pricing was high. I will come back for happy hour again, but likely not stay for dinner... My partner said the lobster spaghetti was great, but at $46, hmmmm. 🙀
the service was so disappointing. All the sides came halfway theough the wellington dinner. Wrong wines were brought out and it took forever tonget the wine. The server was clearly flustered, not very friendly and forgot multiple things. It was very disappointing
Nice ambiance and service but mediocre food. Had the fried chicken dish and it was very dry
I reserved a table at this place for a valentine's day dinner (we actually went on 15th instead). The staff is very friendly and accommodating and made a few tweaks to the menu based on our request. The only reason I didn't give all 5 stars is because I felt the food could've been better. My wife enjoyed her meal and she absolutely loved the trout.
Excellent food. Very attentive service at the bar, service slowed up considerably once we got a table. The food makes up for everything.
It was Valentine’s Day so we had to wait a bit to be seated with a reservation but they gave use a cool spot. Our waiter Eric was great as always. Lobster/spaghetti and linguini/clams were perfect and the garlic bread is the best I’ve had. Maybeck’s has become one of our favorite spots in a city full of great choices. Excellent food, great service, and always easy parking.
The menu is fresh and the food is even better!
Food was overpriced for what you get. Quality wasn’t bad but $24 for average pasta is a bit much when Flour + Water charges the same for better pasta.
Great quality food but very slow service.
Food is good, not amazing. Order the basics - spaghetti w/ meatballs, chopped salad, etc. Service was very slow.
This is the best food in the city.
The dishes are interesting and very flavorful.
Everything is "right on point!"
Excellent food, but a bit overpriced. I had the pork chop and it was rather fatty with no much meat on the bone.
We went for Wellington Wednesday and Maybeck’s did not disappoint. We went to the kitchen for the ceremonial slicing, really fun. Terrific cocktails, the after dinner Grasshopper was the frosting on the cake.
We will go back for sure. Great spot for any special occasion.
A San Francisco treasure...a must try for locals and tourists alike!
Great food and service getting there early was key
The Service was excellent. Took Mom for her Birthday. The menu was limited. Food was good but over priced. $30 for fish and Chips. seriously!!
Loved theBeef Wellington
We decided to check it out after seeing the Check Please show, it seems trying out the Beef Wellington is a small bucket list item. :-). I called the restaurant when we were stuck in traffic and the hostess was very nice about it. Called back again as I realized I may be late enough such that the dish will sell out. The hostess offered to put my name down for one. Parking was not easy around 7pm but we found space at the garage on Pierce St garage. We literally just sat down and the wait staff told me they are about to carve so we went back for the little ceremony. It was quite well done and well worth the effort of rushing there.
Three of us tried the prix fixed and one person ordered the pork chop, along with a nice bottle of Italian red. It was not a cheap meal but the quality of cooking was good. Service was good although the waitress seems just slightly distracted. We saw the owner/chef out and about, which shows they really care about the customers.
The baked Alaska Spumoni was very good and a nice day to end the night!
Excellent. A wonderful neighborhood spot, a fun Wednesday night splurge on Wellington Wednesday. Fish was good, too, for those who don't want too much red meat.....
Fantastic...Best Food In San Francisco!
Amazing food and beautiful ambiance. Service is great also! I love this restaurant and love to location - close to many other bars and fun places to go after before or dinner!
Great for family and friends celebration! I love that the dining room is separated from the bar. Excellent menu and dessert choices.
We went there for Christmas Eve and had an excellent time. The food was excellent, from the small bites to the entrees. Very cool setting.
Pasta Sunday Is Amazing and Best Deal in Town!
Went on a Sunday evening and it was on the quiet side - welcome relief from the bustle of Union Square at Christmas. Had a delightful meal with great company. Definitely recommend it to others.
Food was excellent, but a bit pricey. The layout of the restaurant needs some work. our seats faced the back of the bar and walk way to the bathroom...
Good food, great service. Couldn’t ask for more! The Pork chop was delicious and the Brussels sprouts were outstanding. It was a little noisy when we returned for a drink after a show but still good fun and great bartenders.
Had to wait for our table, didn’t check us in on open table ( I got an email) and service was just ok. Our waiter was awkward and forgot our starters- oysters- as he brought salad and left. We had to ask for our oysters as he forgot. Overall just ok
