Local's Night Tuesdays! Beef Wellington Wednesdays! Fried Chicken and Champagne Thursdays! Lobster Spaghetti Fridays! Steak for Two Saturday Nights! Spaghetti Sunday Supper!
The menu is fresh and the food is even better!
Food was overpriced for what you get. Quality wasn’t bad but $24 for average pasta is a bit much when Flour + Water charges the same for better pasta.
Great quality food but very slow service.
Food is good, not amazing. Order the basics - spaghetti w/ meatballs, chopped salad, etc. Service was very slow.
This is the best food in the city.
The dishes are interesting and very flavorful.
Everything is "right on point!"
Excellent food, but a bit overpriced. I had the pork chop and it was rather fatty with no much meat on the bone.
We went for Wellington Wednesday and Maybeck’s did not disappoint. We went to the kitchen for the ceremonial slicing, really fun. Terrific cocktails, the after dinner Grasshopper was the frosting on the cake.
We will go back for sure. Great spot for any special occasion.
A San Francisco treasure...a must try for locals and tourists alike!
Great food and service getting there early was key
The Service was excellent. Took Mom for her Birthday. The menu was limited. Food was good but over priced. $30 for fish and Chips. seriously!!
Loved theBeef Wellington
We decided to check it out after seeing the Check Please show, it seems trying out the Beef Wellington is a small bucket list item. :-). I called the restaurant when we were stuck in traffic and the hostess was very nice about it. Called back again as I realized I may be late enough such that the dish will sell out. The hostess offered to put my name down for one. Parking was not easy around 7pm but we found space at the garage on Pierce St garage. We literally just sat down and the wait staff told me they are about to carve so we went back for the little ceremony. It was quite well done and well worth the effort of rushing there.
Three of us tried the prix fixed and one person ordered the pork chop, along with a nice bottle of Italian red. It was not a cheap meal but the quality of cooking was good. Service was good although the waitress seems just slightly distracted. We saw the owner/chef out and about, which shows they really care about the customers.
The baked Alaska Spumoni was very good and a nice day to end the night!
Excellent. A wonderful neighborhood spot, a fun Wednesday night splurge on Wellington Wednesday. Fish was good, too, for those who don't want too much red meat.....
Fantastic...Best Food In San Francisco!
Amazing food and beautiful ambiance. Service is great also! I love this restaurant and love to location - close to many other bars and fun places to go after before or dinner!
Great for family and friends celebration! I love that the dining room is separated from the bar. Excellent menu and dessert choices.
We went there for Christmas Eve and had an excellent time. The food was excellent, from the small bites to the entrees. Very cool setting.
Pasta Sunday Is Amazing and Best Deal in Town!
Went on a Sunday evening and it was on the quiet side - welcome relief from the bustle of Union Square at Christmas. Had a delightful meal with great company. Definitely recommend it to others.
Food was excellent, but a bit pricey. The layout of the restaurant needs some work. our seats faced the back of the bar and walk way to the bathroom...
Good food, great service. Couldn’t ask for more! The Pork chop was delicious and the Brussels sprouts were outstanding. It was a little noisy when we returned for a drink after a show but still good fun and great bartenders.
Had to wait for our table, didn’t check us in on open table ( I got an email) and service was just ok. Our waiter was awkward and forgot our starters- oysters- as he brought salad and left. We had to ask for our oysters as he forgot. Overall just ok
Unusually busy, the noise level was greater than expected, the service was slower than expected, the prices have risen (as in all restaurants) but we still had fun: the food was good, the servers were trying hard, the room seemed positive all around. The pork chops were not as tender as in the past, but portion size and taste was fine. The trout pleased, as did the skirt steak though it was seasoned with a little too much salt. This is the kind of place that maintains its positive vibe, so we'll go back again, even with these disappointments.
We had the Hamachi and the grilled octopus for starters - both were outstanding. My trout was perfectly cooked with a subtle sauce of butter and capers that complimented the fish perfectly. A 10, easily! The sea bass was gloriously grilled.
We had two desserts and the hands-down favorite was the molten lava cake.
Half Of Bottles of Champagne On Thursday Nights!
Plus they have Caviar NOW!
We have dined at Maybeck's for several years. We live in Memphis, so we only get to Maybeck's a couple of times a year, which is our loss. This occasion was our 44th wedding anniversary. We were given gracious help by Courtney selcting a red wine and bubbly. We were allowed to share the courses we ordered, and take our time to enjoy a special meal. We shared five dishes. each was very well designed and crafted.
Fabulous Beef Wellington! Octopus starter is great, as is the mac and cheese as side.
I’m not a red meat eater (usually) but I’m glad I made an exception and went for the Beef Wellington night. Food was great and the service very friendly and prompt. Loved that it was not pretentious and snobbish. I’d go back anytime!!
Felt the appetizer was somewhat smaller this 3rd time around 🤷🏽♂️ personally I feel if you’re paying premium prices the dish shouldn’t be 80% potatoes 10% octopus
We went Wednesday to try the Beef Wellington that’s been so heavily promoted. I must say, we were extremely underwhelmed with the quality of the beef Wellington. It was missing one of the key ingredients, Pâté de Foie Gras. No Pate. Just mushrooms. Without the key ingredient the entire flavor profile of the beef Wellington was off. The chef would’ve been better off serving the fillet by itself.
The wines were way overpriced, as was the beef Wellington.
It appeared that there was only one waitress for the entire large restaurant. She was physically and mentally overworked.
We will not return.
First time tonight and it was amazing. The food and service were top notch. It was not too busy for a Sunday night so the noise level was not bad. We got the prawns appetizer, Sunday supper, and linguini with clams-every dish was delicious. I plan on bringing my friend back in the next few weeks. The bar is quite large and they are known for some really tasty cocktails. Cheers
The food and service was outstanding. The group I was with was very happy.
Sit in the bar area, the service there is great. The service in the dining room, three times now, has been slow and unprofessional. Otherwise the food is great.
Beef Wellingtons were so-so. The service was luke warm. Unlikely to return.
Special Tuesday Menu Is A Must Try!
I am never disappointed at Maybeck's. The specials are a great value, the regular menu is always interesting and delicious. I actually look so forward to ending the meal with their wonderfully rich spumoni with its generous mix of fruit. Yes, this is my third visit and plan to return for more ASAP.
Drinks were slow, service was slow and regrettable. With so many other great spots in the neighborhood it’s hard to see how they stay in business.
Great dinner location for special occasion and Dates!
Outstanding food and service. As expected, the Wellington was a treat. Our evening was going along very well for the first 45 minutes. At that time, a group of 7-8 women was seated within 15 feet of us, and proceeded to speak/shout very loudly for the next hour. While not particularly young, they were clearly inebriated and were there to celebrate a birthday. While I recognize that this is not always avoidable, particularly with an already crowded restaurant, this group was clearly much louder than any other diners in the room and completely drowned out all other conversations at other tables. I think that San Francisco has become known for very noisy dining, even in the best of restaurants. It is about time that the manager or their representative, develop a reasonable approach to this problem. Perhaps an alternative location or a separate room could have been offered.
The atmosphere is always pleasant and the chef always goes out of his way to walk around the dining rooms and make sure his diners are attended to. Great entrees (especially on Weds) and great cocktails.
