   We had an amazing dinner with a party of 8 for a friend’s birthday. We chose the tasting menu. Incredible food and great value. Connor and the rest of the staff was great. Lori Baker, co-owner and pastry chef, made an amazing birthday cake for us. We will be back soon. Highly recommend!

   This restaurant was a hidden gem before the pandemic. It has definitely changed owners and the whole staff is new. They do not do the large Wellingtons with the viewing anymore. They only do made to order wellingtons that are one serving. Like the way Gordon Ramsey does it, but not as amazing. We didn’t feel that the wellingtons we had last night, were anywhere near the quality of the Wellington that used to be made here. The menu has completely changed and is a lot pricier than it used to be. It’s sad to see that another great place didn’t make it through the pandemic

   My fiancé and I just love Maybeck's (we even held our engagement party there)! The cocktails are amazing and the food is inventive yet cozy & comforting, there's truly something for everyone on the menu. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

   Great service and food selection. A perfect spot for those that live in the neighborhood or traveling from afar. Spacious seating area with a bar in the middle. Staff was helpful and courteous. Looking forward to a visit and meal again soon!

   Our waitress was delightful and attentive. Hamachi collar appetizer was very tasty and the Beef Wellington was as well. For dessert, a Brooklyn Chocolate cake which was a lovely way to end All in all, a wonderful dining experience.

    We were satisfied customers before the pandemic. This was our first visit since. Very disappointing. Took 15 mins+ to get drinks from the bar. Martinis were served in glassware more appropriate for sherry or port. Server told us about the Wed special which was beef wellington. Shame on us for not asking how much it cost. $70 seemed over the top as nothing was included like a salad or dessert. $70 per person should be a meal price not just an entree. The duck wings were like scrawny chicken wings unlike ones we've had at another restaurant that had them as a specialty. The wine list favored wines in the $60+ category. Would not consider this a go to weeknight restaurant when there are so many other restaurants on Chestnut St.

    Maybeck's is an absolute gem with its neighborhood feel, outstanding food, inspired wine list, and stellar service. The California cuisine with a Japanese flair is excellent from start to finish. There are also numerous gluten free options, which is enormously appreciated. The chefs/owners, somm, and servers are warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive. Can't recommend Maybeck's more highly for everyday dining, special occasions, date night, or girls night dinner. It's simply amazing.

    The carrot cake ice cream was the best flavor I have ever had! It was simply life changing. Large chunks of carrot cake were evenly distributed with icing to make a perfect ice cream representation of my favorite cake. Such a lovely ending to a solid meal. Staff was kind, professional, and attentive. The cocktails were creative and delicious- Borealis, brown-butter old fashioned, and one with Earl grey alcohol. The monkey bread was divine. I would go back just to try the rest of the creative ice cream flavors like amaretto cherry, root beer white chocolate chunk, and green apple sorbet!

    Excellent meals by all four. Duck, filet, lamb. Wine was excellent and it would have been nice to have a sommelier advise us. The waiter didn’t really know the wines and could have offered to call over a sommelier. Not sure if you have one.

    It was my birthday. Very welll run restaurant and all the food was delicious. Presentation was lovely as well. I love that they play Julia child’s cooking program over the loud speaker in the restrooms. Great venue

    Had high expectations for this place- it was great under the old name Spaghetti Brothers. The menu was entirely different and not exciting. Sauce for the oysters tasted like soy sauce and didn’t compliment the oysters at all. Entrees were really expensive and not good at all - unseasoned and small. Classic Cocktails were done well, but the specialty cocktails were not good. Waiter was not able to give us any suggestions when we asked for vine recommendations and oysters. Overall really disappointing for how expensive it was.

    First, the service: you can tell they work as a team and feel like a family. They are willing to go out of their way to please you. Next, the food and drink: wow, everything tastes incredible and is not overwhelming. The flavors are subtle and unique. Try the gnudi, grilled avacado, filet, and definitely keep room for dessert. Last but not least, be sure to have a cocktail by Brian, the bartender. His mixology skills rock!

    Maybeck’s used to have high quality food and good prices . No more. The prices have gone up and the food has gone down. The hamachi crudo used to be fresh, lightly seasoned, reasonably priced ($6) and fun to eat. Now it is a lump of tasteless fish served on a pile of rice — for $26. The entrees are equally expensive and equally boring.

    We went for Wednesday beef Wellington and it was delish!! After, we shared a deconstructed root beer float that the Michelin judges should try...it was amazing! Great wine selection and wonderful mixed drinks. Everyone had an amazing time!!

    I'm disappointed to discover that Maybeck's former main dining room is now apparently primarily reserved for private parties. The front room is not cosy, but the rear main room was. I know the restaurant trade is a difficult one, and owners must manage their business prudently, but for me being seated in the front area diminished the experience. Formerly I would invite friends for formal dinners there. Given the new more casual ambiance and more crowded seating, I won't be going that anymore. This is casual dining. Fine, but different. I wish the restaurant team well, but this change - albeit probably necessary - is nonetheless disappointing to me. I'll recommend Maybeck's, but with this caveat.

    The duck confit with lentils was delicious, as was the Ribera del Duoro we had with it. Great salad starter, the dessert maybe a little on the heavy side. Great experience all around.

    Jaime our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and had good recommendations. We came for Restaurant Week and shared a Duck Confit special and Beef Wellington. Both very tasty. Side order of Korean Potatoes and Chicharones as appetizers.
