Great service and Carlos the bartender makes the best drinks!
Everything was fantastic! Great service. Thank you.
Not exactly authentic, but the flavors are there. I've never had anything here that I didn't like. The seafood tostones are the best.
Very nice ambiance and very good food! Great date night.
Excellent as always. Trinity and his staff make every dining experience there like it’s their opening night. And they want to do their best to impress. They succeed every time. Unbelievable flavors. Excellent drinks and waitstaff is superb.
Mayas is a neighborhood gem! We go at least once every time we are in town. The tuna tartare is simply amazing! I have never been disappointed here.
As always, the food, drinks and service were excellent. Thank you for taking care of us! Even the gluten free vegetarian fare was spot-on!
Absolutely wonderful. Great service and atmosphere with extra sidewalk seating on Magazine. Best Mojito I have had in a long time. Got the Mango Avocado Stack to go. This is the best dish and only thing I ever order so I can't speak to the rest of the menu! I can hardly wait to go back.
Food was delicious!
Have seen Mayas a million times when dining at another neighborhood and always wanted try it but never did, till the other night. We were looking for something different, flavorful and unique food and we tried Mayas. We were seated at a comfortable booth, had a superb waitress and we all ordered diffferent items. Each item we ordered was uniquely and beautifully presented and each dish ordered was better than the next. The Tuna Tartare was spicy, tangy and so flavorful, the stacked shrimp, crab dish was mild, lightly sweet and also delicious and my husband had a tamale and the skirt steak dish and he loved them both. We also started with the guacamole with sundried tomatoes which was so good it literally vanished from the table in minutes. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Came here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The food was great and the sangria was wonderful.
The food was amazing!! The shrimp & crab Ceviche Fantastic!! Fresh mojitos , pork & chicken dishes very tasty !! Service was exceptional!! Will be back soon
I can't believe how delicious everything was. We had the trio empanadas, crab and shrimp ceviche, and paella. There was so much food and the two of us couldn't have been more happy about leftover paella. This gem was a great place to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.
I have LOVED every visit to Maya's and have recommended it to everyone, who agree it is WONDERFUL!! Sadly, we did not keep our reservation 2 weeks ago because, after getting usual confirmation from Open Table, I left 6 unreturned VM's with Maya's because I wanted to up my reservation to two more people. I was afraid to ask my out of town visitors to drive down there and park, only to find Maya's closed. When I tried through Open Table to cancel my reservation, I could not. It stated it was not taking reservations at this time. I couldn't even get in to adjust the number. I was so frustrated.
So, I have NO IDEA if my favorite restaurant is closed for business, taking a vacation (which if it is should not have accepted my reservation and confirmed it). NO notice either through Face Book. This has happened to us before...we've shown up there and there is a sign on the door stating vacation time. If so, put that on the very nice voice message or Face Book. No problem. AND...there should be some way for Open Table to commuicate with the consumer what the status of the restaurant is. I even called two businesses across the street to see if they knew anything and they did not.
PLEASE MAYAS FIND A WAY TO LET ME KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. Thanks!

Called Uber which transported our party to a dark, no lights, closed restaurant. We double checked the address confirming we were at the right location, “CLOSED!”
Our reservations were made & confirmed on OpenTable.
While in front of a dark closed restaurant my phone pings with a reservation update reminder. We were all flabbergasted 😯
On my Uber account it shows our arrival fee and we uploaded another destination from this ghost restaurant to “Dat Dog” which we all enjoyed!!
This was a major disappointment on your site users and needs to be rectified.
I have eaten at Maya's in the past and the food and service are perfectly wonderful. I cannot give a good review this time however because they weren't open, even though I had reservations. I originally called Maya's to set a reservation for my friends who were coming to New Orleans for the weekend. Their answering machine picked up and said to go to their website to book reservations. So, I did just that and made our reservation through Open Table, and received a confirmation email from Open Table. I arrived at Maya's right on time...only to find that it was closed. Not closed permanently, but doors locked and lights out. No sign explaining why they were closed or anything. I had to think quick and reroute my friends to another nearby restaurant where we had to wait for a table for nearly half an hour. Before I left the sidewalk in front of Maya's, two more people walked up and were just as flummoxed as I was. They had done the same exact thing.
This place was close! I don’t know why it’s in open table, made me waste my time going to this place.
We had confirmed reservation and showed up to a closed restaurant
We had a confirmed reservation at this restaurant, yet when we showed up they were closed. It's possible they are out of business? Very frustrating.
It was closed, even though my reservation was confirmed. No explanation on the door.
Showed up for our reservation and the doors were locked, the lights out and the answering machine on. What a huge disappointment. This restaurant was phenomenal. And they haven’t responded to the message I left on their machine.
The restaurant was CLOSED!!!! No reason posted contrary to h o ours posted on the website. No hours posted on the door.
I don't know how Mayas was. IT WAS CLOSED!!!!!!!!! So we went across the street to Juan's Flying Burrito. I sure it was no comparison to Mayas. I was so disappointed!
We had a great night at Maya!! My daughter and I shared the mariscada which was phenomenal!! My other daughter had the tropical tilapia but wasn’t wild about the sweet sauce. We loved the tamales - both types and my spicy watermelon margarita was awesome. My husbands Pisco sour tasted off.
Overall we had a great dinner!!
My husband and I came late, just right before they closed. The staff was friendly, entertaining, and also gave us enough space to have good conversation before he left on a work trip. The slow roasted pork entree was delicious, and the strip steak over mashed potatoes was as well.
This is a place that I always go to and never leave dissatisfied or hungry. I love the ambiance and atmosphere.
First and foremost I must say that Trinity is a freeking Rock Star! My girlfriend and I go to Maya's at least 2x a month. We go in and sit at the bar as we usually do when we eat out. Hands down trinity is our favorite bar tender in the city. He knows what we want before we do!!!! The menu is creative and clever. I very seriously doubt that you could find something bad to eat here. All of the specially drinks are next level and labor intensive. Nothing is batched! I highly recommend Maya's for the food as well as the cocktails!!!!!
As always, the Tuna Tartare was amazing! Light and refreshing - the perfect lunch!
Loved this gem! The chef is also the owner and he's from Central America. There's a wide variety of food options and the portions are quite sizable. We opted for the Thai soup along with a shrimp curry dish. I will definitely go back when I'm on NOLA again!
Seated immediately. Service was great. Food was delicious. Large portions.
We had a fantastic lunch at Maya's. The food was delicious and so was the service. We will be back.
Outstanding cocktails. Possibly the best mojito I have ever had. The food was amazing. Fresh guacomole, and perfectly prepared dishes. This is an amazing little place. The staff actually seems to enjoy working there. Very good people.
A wonderful experience and the food was amazing!!!
Excellent surprise. Can't believe I've never been here before. Great food. Fresh. Portions way too big (as is the thing now). Tostones were perfect as was Crab and Avocado salad.
This place was so good! I went there for a brunch with 6 friends on saturday and we enjoyed our experience from start to finish. The $5 sangria's were delicious and definitely get the ceviche. Thanks Maya's!
The food was disappointed. The churrasco was salty. The Brazilian moqueca was ok. Scallops in it were good. There was hardly any mahi mahi in it. It was not worth the price. The sangria was really good. One of the best I ever had.
Overall I did enjoy my experience at Maya's but I was thoroughly disappointed when we received the bill. I had asked for a vodka and soda, and having worked as a bartender for years if you don't name a vodka then it is assumed you're ordering whatever the well vodka is. By the time we received the bill I had been charged $36 for three (Titos, a call Vodka) drinks. I did not ask for Titos and was not told that's what I was given. Even it's that $12 for a single shot of Titos and a single mixer (soda water) is incredibly steep. I cannot help but feel like the staff was being deceitful and will not be returning.
Service was very attentive. Food was extremely good - unexpectedly so. Price was very reasonable.
WE are locals and love Maya's! WE visit often!!! The food is awesome and always delicious and hot and great portions...the spicy Chicken Curry is my favorite! And the White, Red and Watermelon Sangria is fantastic!
The food was excellent and the service was friendly but did not hover. We ordered 3 similar dishes but each had its own flavor. The flavors were fresh and not heavy at all. The service at the table was good but I was even more impressed w the service after I left. I forgot my credit card and they called me and the waiter waited outside the restaurant for me so I didn't have to park again. Such a nice guy!
