Maya - New York Ratings and Reviews
A little noisy for brunch spot, but the bottomless brunch is pretty bang for the buck. Unlimited food and drink for about $60. Portions are small but allow for variety of tasting options. And everything on the menu is fair game except guacamole. We didn’t order it, but it’s probably good? If you have drinkers in your party this brunch will do just fine. The only Miss was the champagne. It was pretty bad.
What a fabulous place! Could not recommend any more highly! Service was warm welcoming prompt and professional. Food was delicious varied and plentiful. Amazing variety. ..accommodates all diets. Drinks were free flowing and so yummy. Just go. .a wonderful spot!
This was my third time at Maya and once again, it did not disappoint. Our server this time, Cynthia, was great, very attentive and always there to refill our drinks and get our next food request. The drinks and food were wonderful as well. All the dishes are full of flavor. You can't go wrong here with their 2-hour bottomless brunch. Highly recommend this place!
Food was pretty good. Ordered margaritas and the staff came back saying they had run out of house tequila. How does a mexican restaurant run out of house tequila? Plus, they didn't offer the next best option at the house liquor price, which would have been the correct move. Other than that, it was a decent experience.
A group of family/ friends and I went to Maya for brunch. We enjoyed the music, food and unlimited drinks greatly. I really like the idea of the small plates and that fact that everyone gets to try all the food that is ordered. We had a blast and I cannot wait until the next visit!
This was our first time at Maya. Our server was fabulous and the food good. Hated our table location and the noise level was over the top...granted it was Friday night and a what seemed as a never ending happy hour was going on. We will maybe try again at a quieter time.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The service was poor; our waiter took 30 minutes to bring our drinks and didn't take our order until 1 hour after we arrived. We ordered drinks multiple times and asked multiple servers who then didn't bring them. The food was subpar and not worth the prices they charge. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone.
Great time! Although a bit loud I honestly loved the atmosphere. The food was really flavorful albeit a bit expensive and the waitstaff was so kind and service oriented. I'm definitely coming back (even if it's just to take a shot with my waiter) highly recommend!
Went to Maya to watch the NYC Marathon - it was a perfect set up with plenty of street viewing options in the front of the restaurant. They also had much larger tables for groups towards the back of the space.
Bottomless Brunch is a must on Sundays and the Pan Dulce was a favorite!
The food has no flavor. Tried the guacamole with bacon, had the AL pastor tacos, my wife had the chicken. guacamole could have used some salt, only food I ever had where I could not taste the bacon. Al pastor, some tacos had pineapple others didn't, get it right. Too expensive for an experience that would have been beaten with a lean cuisine at home.
It may be that I'm just to old for Maya. The concept is strong, and the place is vibrant and lively. It's a great value -- $50 for all you can eat and drink brunch. But it's a party scene, and I'm almost 40, so it may not be for me. Also, we had higher expectations of the food. Nothing really blew us away.
Service was ok and the food wasn't as good as it looks online. Where's the seasoning? I thought this was a Mexican restaurant. If you're a tall patron, ask for a table in the middle or without the over head lights. Bumped my head twice. Very annoying feature. It's your average upper east side location. Nothing to make reservations for, if you know what I mean. I won't be going back, but to each his/her own. (BLAH)
