A classic night out with some delicious Mexican cuisine. We started with the guacamole and shrimp ceviche, which was then followed by chicken enchiladas and maya chopped salad with shrimp. Everything was extremely tasty and full of wonderful flavors only to be complimented further by the scrumptious array of margaritas that graced our meal. A fantastic experience.
I had a wonderful time with my fiance' for Father's Day. The food and drinks was great.
Service was excellent. The drinks were well crafted and the food (enchiladas specifically) was well above average for Mexican food in NYC.
I made the reservation specifically for outside. When we arrived they told us that our table was inside. Not a big deal but if I make a reservation outside…it’s disappointing to not sit there.
Food is OK, not great. Prices much too high for quality of food.
Delicious and great service!
The food was honestly not good. They were better two years + ago.
Food was good, not great. Service was good. Margaritas were amazing.
Food was very delicious and the drinks (margaritas) were also very good. I think it's a tad on the pricey side for the amount of food and drink you actually get but would still recommend. Good for catching up with friends or family!
It is a good place to eat. Good quality of food, and excellent drinks. U fortunately, with the pandemic everything is more expensive, but I will still go with friends and family:)
The margaritas are always great, the shrimp and crab enchiladas a favorite. The fish tacos and the salmon are also very good. This is not inexpensive Mexican fare, but always delicious. We remember the food leaning more toward the Yucatan before it shut down during the pandemic. We hope the pibil and other Yucatan dishes come back. The tables are well-spaced, but because the place was packed and people appeared to be catching up, with many apparently seeing each other for the first time in months, the noise level was high.
The food was very disappointing. The tuna ceviche was not not fresh nor well prepared. The guacamole may have been pre-prepared. Do not recommend this restaurant. Under new ownership perhaps with unappetizing changes
Very good food, excellent service from Darwin our waiter. Clean place. Fast and fresh.
Fish tacos, chicken enchiladas, rice and black beans were delicious. Service was excellent. Guacamole was not spiced moderately as requested (it was bland), and serving was way too small for 2 people and $17 price.
I came to Maya a few months ago and had an amazing time with the food, service and ambience. This time around the food was just not good. It seems they changed the menu and honestly, they need to change it back or try something else. The only things I enjoyed were the lamb tacos, corn and plantains.
Please change this menu back or to something else. I really wanna love this place again.
The noise level was u bearable. Our mistake and not seeing bottomless brunch which draws a young drinking crowd. The non bottomless option. You had to pick one of the few dishes. All for $13 but the quantity was like $7 with not great flavors.
Discourage you to go there if you want to really talk to one another and not have to scream.
Suggest going there if you are ok with the terrible acoustics and mediocre food and want bottomless for $45.
They were so nice, the lamb tacos and ceviche are the best!
Great drinks, great atmosphere!
Food was good, our server was busy so not always east to get his attention but I’m glad I tres this restaurant. I am mew to the neighborhood.
I’ve been here before and had a great experience. This instance I was celebrating my birthday and the server was rude and not good at all! I was so disappointed on the food and my guests were not impressed. He took long to get us drinks and messed up a wine ordering. Really bad experience. I never leave reviews but this is worth me taking the time. This server we got doesn’t fit the vibe.
We've been to Maya 6-7 times, but this was our first visit since the beginning of the pandemic, and my goodness, how we missed it. The ginger margaritas were delicious and wonderfully nuanced. The guacamole had layers and layers of notes. The plantains, the chicken fajitas, the fish tacos-- all delightful, fresh and lively. A thoroughly enjoyable dinner from start to finish, with attentive service throughout.
the brunch menu changed completely, they just give you food don't ask if you want it so now it was a waste. Asked 4 times to get something that we actually wanted to eat. by the time it came out, our time was up and was hassling us to pay the check. used to love this place, I will not be going anymore for brunch.
Maya has fantastic food. The staff are superb.
Happening Mexican on the Upper East Side. Delicious food and a great neighborhood scene indoors and out.
I wanted to like it thinking that it would be a truly authentic Mexican restaurant, but it’s really not. Foods rather ordinary for Mexican food, the ceviche is not really ceviche, tacos were good, drinks were very water down, waiters very pleasant, very odd that with the reservation my girlfriend could not sit until I got there
I’ve been to Lo and Mexican restaurants who are more accommodating with better food I’m sorry Mya
Deliciosa expresión de la gastronomía Mexicana, maravillosas Margaritas y un queso fundido de muerte lenta
The waitress was SO nice and friendly and the space was clean and lovely. The food was great though a lot of them have dairy. Loved it!
Was very surprised! the maya margarita is so good. Very juicy chicken fajitas!
There was a very noisy group at a table nearby. The food was great, service very good.
All was pretty good except had to wait for check 30 min!!
Delicious!!! Maya margarita so yummy!!! Carlos our server was amazing!!! Fernando the GM checked on us several times and was so professional and nice. Will be back soon. Can’t wait to try brunch!!!
Went for cinco de Mayo and it was great! Our waiter was amazing and really attentive! Margaritas were outstanding and it was great to see Maya so busy!!!
The food was delicious. We had the bottomless brunch and the waitress was so incredible bringing us food to try everything and was aware of our drinks and make us feel really comfortable. I absolutely loved the experience
Great brunch. Food and drinks were both amazing. Would recommend
Excellent mexican food and drinks. The place is amazing in general specially with the new renovation.
Amazing staff all around, very attentive. The food was delicious, the drinks were equally delicious and refreshing. Favorite place.
I've dined here several times and even send friends to brunch here. The Food is amazing, tequila tasting outstanding/Drinks and atmosphere is beautiful. What's missing particularly at night is effective management and better servers. When I say effective management I mean if they were on the floor they would've observed what was happening. My dirty dishes were kept on the table empty even when my mains arrived. Table should be reset between courses and empty glasses and plates removed immediately. Server seemed half asleep, shirt was dirty and he kept vanishing to the BOH. My drinks took a very long time and he comped one but realistically just shouldn't have taken that long as I had the feeling he just didn't pick it up from the bar. Also, hard to get anyones attention for help when everyone has their backs toward guest and are too busy talking. Staff Is more concerned with cleaning and reseting empty tables than attending to actual seated guest.
Maya was such an amazing atmosphere! I came here for my birthday brunch and we literally ordered the entire menu. The food and drinks were great! The staff was so amazing, gracious, and efficient with our orders and so welcoming. I will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great birthday!
The staff was very pleasant and attentive. We loved everything about the brunch one of my favorite small plates was the Pan Dulce and the Maya salmon , also the margaritas were to die for and our waitress was always checking that we were ok with food and drinks. I will definitely come back again.
