Reliable good food. Extensive menu with great service
There were three in my party. We had a reservation. We were seated immediately and waited upon promptly. Our wait person successfully recommended wines in accordance with our descriptions and brought our appetizers quickly. We chose the trio and were not disappointed by hummus, eggplant or roasted peppers. Each of us enjoyed the different entrees that we ordered. My Moussaka was superlative as was the Red lentil soup. My friends equally enjoyed the Manti and the Spinach Pie. We will definitely return.
The accommodations were comfortable and the food came out quickly. The server was prompt and attentive to our needs. Last but not least, the food was excellent! Would definitely recommend and I look forward to eating here again
This was my 3rd time here and the food is consistently good. I look forward to my next time. We like the mezze platter, moussaka, stuffed zucchini, dolma. The bread and tapenade that come with the meal also excellent.
The food is excellent every time I have been there at lunch and dinner. Turkish coffee really excellent and the meats are moist.
Went for desserts & tea. Each of us ordered a different dessert - all excellent. Friends who had Turkish tea liked it.
Maya Bistro is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Get a reservation because, even on a Tuesday night, it fills up. The service is friendly and attentive without being pushy, and the food is excellent. Parking is rough and it can get quite loud--the only two things that keep it from being perfect.
Food was good. Solid 8.5 out of 10.
Tried out Maya Bistro this past weekend as part of a group of six. The reviews have been so great - I had to see what all the fuss is about. It is about GREAT food and a GREAT staff! We shared a big app (mezze) platter that was a perfect sampling of all the wonderful things that are coming out of the kitchen. We all ordered differently - beef, zucchini, dumplings, salmon - everyone was sampling every else's food and we all came to an agreement that Maya Bistro will remain a regular in our dining-out repertoire! And I only live 1.5 miles away! We even had some Turkish wine - which was really quite good - it was a dry red that went very well with what we were eating. And the presentation was excellent too - all the colors and textures - each dish just begging to appear on Instagram. Thank you Maya Bistro - we WILL be back!!!
It was our second visit and we brought friends who agreed with us that Maya Bistro is an excellent restaurant. We will be back again.
Great food and service! Many thanks. Great New Year’s Eve dinner
What a delightful Christmas surprise. We were there Christmas night and food was absolutely delicious. We look forward to trying out other things on the menu on our return visits.
My wife had the Baba Ganoush and Adana for a main course, and I had Maya Cigars and Adana Yogurt. Each dish was very good, and the servings are quite ample. Even though the restaurant was almost full, we were served quickly and efficiently. A fine evening at a moderate cost.
Pleasant and attentive staff are the highlight. Plenty of perfectly prepared vegetables. But the spinach pie had freezer burn and the salmon was a little dry. We hear the lamb is the forte. We will give this pleasant little neighborhood place a 2d chance
First visit here. Having passed by it on Lee Hwy., I’d assumed it was Mayan cuisine. Noooo....
It offers an excellent Eastern Mediterranean, predominantly Turkish, menu - but also some Greek, Lebanese, Cypriot, etc. We had lamb shish kabob and Beyti Kabob, as well as a Turkish red wine, Kavaklidere Select. Everything was _outstanding_. I’d lived in Turkey for 5 years, and the food is truly authentic. Parties at a couple of tables were speaking Turkish, so that’s always a good indication that the food will be good.
This restaurant has only been open for 8 months or so, but it was quite busy on Monday evening. It’s a modern look, not a hole in the wall, but still casual and reasonable (especially with 1/2 price wine bottles on Monday). The owner and servers are very welcoming. We’ll defibrillator be back. Easily gets 5 stars! And the price range is a solid $$.
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant worth trying out. The food I great, and personnel is wonderful.
excellent. all around. food, service, atmosphere. great for meeting up with friends and I can see it as a great date place too. definitely, give it a try
Excellent neighborhood restaurant! It is family run and it feels like the kind of family you want to be friends with. The Turkish food is terrific and freshly baked pita is unlike what you typically find. I recommend the mixed grill for two featuring memorable lamb chops
We have been to Maya Bistro many times. The food is wonderful and the service is friendly and attentive.
Great food! We'll be back.
Have been coming here since it opened as it's just down the street from my house and while it's always been really good, they've seemingly CONTINUED to improve to the point where it's now SUPERB food! We had a great dinner - with 2 friends that are serious foodies - and they mix a good drink, too. May have helped that it was a "slower" night, but everything was perfect and we'll definitely continue to frequent!
We have now had three excellent meals at Maya Bistro and highly recommend it for anyone desiring an very delicious Turkish/Middle Eastern menu.
Delightful, attentive service and excellent food. We will return.
Small but mighty. This little restaurant in Arlington serves outstanding Turkish cuisine. Very good service.
I had the stuffed zucchini this time, and it was wonderful! And my French martini was a lovely as ever.
The food and service are great. The only problem with coming to Maya Bistro, of which the owners are aware, is the lack of parking—requires a walk from down the block.
Good neighborhood restaurant to check out. The food is good, the service is great, atmosphere could use some help (bright lights and bare tables).
Very good Mediterranean dishes, best hummus I've had in a while.
Will make this a regular neighborhood go too.
We had a lovely lunch for seven. Everything was prepared for us when we arrived. Food arrived promptly and our glasses were never empty. Even those who were unfamiliar with ME food were astounded by the delicious spreads and dishes.
Great new neighborhood place. Really good food and nice ambiance. Love that the noise level is low. Wait staff were very helpful about the menu and the Turkish wines (which were lovely).
Nice family-run spot. Good for families, or for couples. Good food. Nice service. Reasonable prices. Try the french fries!
My third visit, and each time, the service has been efficient yet unobtrusive, and the food delicious. I’m especially pleased with their red lentil soup, their beet and orange salad, and this time I tried the kale mezze upon a friend’s recommendation. More onion than I like but easy to pick out the slices, and the yogurt sauce is delightful. My family and friends will absolutely continue to dine here. Visitors need to know that parking out front is very limited, but thus far street parking is easily available.
Very pleasant overall surroundings and excellent service. Other's might like the food more than I did; I just didn't care for it all that much. I'm not really familiar with Turkish food, and I wasn't crazy about it. The others in my party seemed to enjoy their food more than I did.
Gracious service , excellent value , and we hit it on 1/2 price wine bottle night!
We live in the neighborhood and have been a good number of times. This place is a GEM and a welcome addition to our neighborhood. They have a really nice bar to sit at when alone (or when most tables taken, as they were when we went on Saturday) and the staff is SUPER friendly and attentive! The food is REALLY good, too, though I would say that the Moussaka - which was really tasty! - could be served a lot warmer than the last two times I've had it!! Don't know why this is a recurring problem, but in all honesty, it was late and I was hungry, so didn't have the inclination to send it back to reheat. The zucchini cakes delicious, too, as was my partner's chicken kabob dish! HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
Friendly service, delicious food (we had manti, smoked eggplant, shrimp, and moussaka). Not too noisy, so we hear each other.
Wonderful food and very attentive service. Atmosphere is cheerful and very clean.
Exquisite dining experience, from the service and most abundantly the quality of the good. Without question, the best Middle-Eastern fare in the NOVA region.
This is my third visit to Maya Bistro this summer. So, you can see I like it. The last time I went with a friend who is from Turkey and another from Greece. They declared it excellent. So, that is a ringing endorsement. One note: we ordered 3 cold mezzes and the mixed grill platter for two. The platter is quite generous and it fed us well.
