Overall great experience. My only suggestion would be the Massaman Curry to use stewed beef as the strips of beef were tough and grisly . The curry gravy in the Massaman was excellent.
Service was beyond perfection.
Thank you!

Dining early was quiet and great. The trout was amazing, and we loves the said appetizer. Reservations were a must, and so glad we had a great evening.

I love this restaurant but was disappointed in the beef salad we had. It was so tough we could not eat it. I hope in the future they are more aware of the quality of ingredients they are serving.

The service was perfect and the food was amazing. We had the spring rolls, green curry and pad see ew and we were both satiated and delighted. I cannot emphasize enough how good our server was. She was knowledgeable about the food and wine and was able to give thoughtful recommendations. Her timing was perfect. Great ambience, beautiful wooden decor.

The food here is a superb treat and the service is very good. It typically fills up and you need a reservation. The only downside for me is that the wood seats are hard and uncomfortable, especially the high stool tables and bar stools. There are a few normal height tables with chairs that appear to offer adequate comfort but I have yet to sit at one. The high stool tables don't offer much space and the whole room feels a little crowded. However, you have probably never had Thai food as good. Seriously! It is by far worth a slight discomfort.

Dinner on Saturday was delicious. The Tom Ka soup was comletely on point. Took me back to the beachside cafe in Thailand where I first tasted this soup. The other dishes were delicious with just the right spicy kick. I will be back again and again.

I can't recommend May Kitchen & Bar highly enough. Everything was (and always is) outstanding. The servers and owners are gracious, the atmosphere is lovely, and the food is beautiful and delectable. May's is so popular that one must plan ahead to make a reservation. It would be great if you opened for lunch, at least on weekends!

Nice place with Thai charm and a modern twist . Reservations required. Only open for dinner time starting at 5pm. Cocktails were tasty. Appetizers were great. Dinner was pretty good, but not atypical of a good Thai restaurant. Live Pad Thai was a nice interactive dish mixed at your table with some special ingredients. Complementary birthday ice cream desert sampler was flavorful and unexpected. X

Good destination for visitors to Vashon Island. Street parking out front or a block or two away. The downtown stores all close at 6pm so make a day trip out of it. See the light house on Maury island with panorama views of Mt Rainer on a clear day. Check out the bike in the tree, stop at the general store across the street from the bike at the park and ride, get some coffee or beer, do some shopping downtown Vashon and eat dinner afterwards. Take the Fauntleroy ferry back to West Seattle after dinner for a sunset over the Olympic mountains.

I don't know what's happened to May Kitchen, but the quality has really declined. I love the ambiance and the food, but the last few visits into May's have been really disappointing. There have been times when the wait staff behaved as if they could care less about the service we received. The quality of the dishes do not seem as flavorful or carefully prepared as they once were. Even the freshness of the ingredients doesn't seem up to par. It isn't bad, but just not as spectacular as it was. I don't mind paying the higher prices but only if they reflect the quality of the original May Kitchen!

I love May kitchen and I want it to return to the overall quality that it had when it first opened.

May's is my go to spot on Vashon. If I take guests to dinner, we always go to May's. Everyone loves it. This time I had my grand daughters and they had just flown in from Texas. They were very tired but hungry for Thai. May's staff helped them get fed quickly and well.

May's can get a bit loud and the tables are pretty close to each other but in general the ambiance and decor are fine. One tip--you almost always need a reservation.
