MAY KITCHEN + BAR
Exceptional food and overall dining experience!!!
What a wonderful evening! We went for my birthday because this is one of my favorite restaurants, and they did not disappoint. Topped off a delicious meal with a surprise - they dimmed the lights and brought out a dessert featuring 4 different Thai ice cream flavors and the staff sang me happy birthday. Such a wonderful place with the best Thai food around and really warm staff. Highly recommended!
Absolutely a great time, food and ambience are so authentic! Best Thai in Seattle area.
Every time, we enjoy and our guests are delighted by the most delicious sauces and authenticity. Bravo!
We had a great time and a great meal when we went to May's for our anniversary recently. The staff were sweet and attentive, and we were impressed with the speed of service this time around. For two entrees, an appetizer, side of yummy red rice, and two Thai iced teas, we spent about $60 (before tipping). An excellent value for the quantity and quality of food and beverages! We were even gifted a dessert for our special occasion. Thank you to the staff at May's for helping us celebrate!
Gathered for a Birthday celebration and it was fantastic. One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the state. Great service, beautiful ambiance and rich, tasty, authentic food. Perfect evening for the nine of us.
Great service and food, I especially appreciate the vegan options! Our waiter was excellent.
Amazing food and a fun atmosphere. The employees were very nice. It’s very busy and very small so a reservations is a must even for two.
The food was outstanding and authentic. We loved the atmosphere with the authentic wooden interior.
Although being seated near the door was very drafty. The cocktails were amazing!
the food was amazing!! We felt lucky that we heard about it. I would love to go back.
Everything good but charging $3 extra to put a very minuscule amount of veges in curry is just wrong.
As alway, Mays is the best place to dine on Vashon as well as most of the Puget Sound area. We are so fortunate to have her on Vashon! All of the food is fabulous, the waitstaff impeccable, and my only complaint is needing a reservation most nights to get in!
Amazing food and service. Go for the fried watercress appetizer! Just beware the huge portions...
Their pod Thai is excellent!
May was great except the waitress got my order wrong. I had to send back and wait while my companions ate their dinner. It was kind of a bummer.
Great! Servers Kate and Samantha were fantastic - polite and attentive without being "in the way". Food was as good as always, especially love the Tom Ka soup. A nice evening, and thanks for the free "anniversary" dessert!
Lovely experience. You can tell the owner and the employees care about their customers’ experience . The yum phak boong (flash fried watercress) was delicious and the dipping sauce tangy sweet and spicy all-in-one -my favorite dish of the night ❤️
May Kitchen has been consistently wonderful everytime I have eaten here. The wait staff couldn't be more delightful. Every dish was delicious, especially the ones recommended by the staff. Never a disappointment.
The food is consistently delicious. The portion sizes continue to get smaller and the prices continue to increase. Disappointed with this
Wonderful food and excellent service!
Seriously the best Thai food in Puget Sound is at May on Vashon Island!
Worth the hype.
A typical Thai restaurant that doesn't really offer up anything unique. Food is better than average but not worth the upscaled prices. Not many competitors when it comes to Asian food on the island. But if you're visiting from the city, you'll most likely have had better.
Fantastic meal and service! A must eat at restaurant on Vashon!
We had an excellent time. We had two serious allergies and both were happy. We tried all the ice creams-really fun! (Except they were out of durian!🙁!) Always a great experience.
I love May’s and it never disappoints, the ambience, the food, the service and the best mixed drinks!
You must experience May Thai on Vashon Island. The food and service are right on.
Always a win. I could live on the vegan spring rolls. Light and fresh and delicious. The majority of the menu is gluten free, so there is something for everyone on the menu!!
We felt like we entered another world when we entered May Kitchen. The food was the best I've had since spending time in Thailand and the presentation and service was fantastic. Had the deep fried trout!
Excellent authentic Thai cuisine, attentive servers, good cocktails, fine list of wines. Expensive but woeth it for a special night out. Don't miss the Tom Kha soup.
Reservation not honored as we needed to wait 20 minutes. Drinks took 20 minutes after we asked twice and the food was mediocre. Dry larb with a strange slice of raw cabbage on the side. The ice cream was good
There are no appropriate words for such a culinary experience!!!
As always, May Kitchen was outstanding. We took two friends from London to dinner there; and like all of the other friends whom we have taken to May Kitchen, our London friends said that they had never eaten such delicious Thai food.
The spring roll appetizers were good with a nice dipping sauce. After that it went down hill fast - we ordered the thai style larb and the yum neau. After ordering, the wait staff person returned and said they had only enough pork for half an order so would we like to have all chicken or half chicken and half pork. How do you run out of pork in a Thai restaurant by 7:45 pm? My wife elected to just have a half order of pork. Both dishes, we were told, would be moderately spicy. When the larb arrived for my wife, there was nothing but pork with a few minuscule traces of mint and onion, no green beans and no noticeable basil. Served with a slab of plain white cabbage and a bowl of white rice. There was no spice, heat or essentially any flavor. Visualize a presentation of bland colorless pork, rice and a cabbage wedge. We did manage to get some hot chili dressing to add some interest - but minimal. My yum neau was a little better but hardly any cucumber, and a lot of very tough beef and lettuce. The front of the restaurant is extremely drab and very uninviting and we noticed a water fountain right in front of the restaurant door that was littered with garbage and old beer cans. The fact that the management and staff just left it there all evening and even the next morning tells you what attention is being paid.
Always a treat to eat at May.
Lovely restaurant with an authentic ambiance. The staff is outstanding and the food is incredible. A wonderful experience!
The green curry is so good you could drink it. Nuff said. Top notch.
It took about an hour to bring our food and several of the dishes were barely warm.
This place consistently serves too many people at once. It is noisy, crowded, and the food is not fresh when served.
Very disappointing as this has been consistently mediocre for the last year. Overrated by many.
The yum neau was the best i’ve had at mays. The meat was not as well done as normal and it was great. As always the service was the best.
Ventured over from Seattle and it was definitely WORTH IT! All the dishes we ordered were packed with flavor and the presentation was amazing. The fresh spring rolls are AMAZING, best I have ever had. We will be returning frequently. :)
