   Limited menu due to off season and we weren’t told abt it until we were already sitting and ordering our dinner. More the half the menu was unavailable.

   Mother's Day brunch was my second visit to Maxwell's Plum. The first visit was ok, but just drinks and apps, but the Mother's Day brunch was disappointing. The service was slow, which is unusual considering they were only really taking drink orders. I ordered champagne, received a mimosa. Refills had to be requested multiple times. The brunch advertised that there would be oysters and shrimp, which were delivered to our table, and they were good, but they only served one of each for each person. There was a brisket and BBQ chicken station that no one manned, and there was no chicken. Most carving stations have a heat lamp, bread, sauce, etc., but there was nothing but brisket covered in foil and some tongs. The rest of the buffet was meh. Most of the food was not heated, not a huge variety, and while there were a few options that were good, most of the food was subpar, and some things were just bad. There were three dessert options so as a table of three, we ordered one of each and they were all disappointing. Maybe my expectations were too high, but we were extremely underwhelmed, especially considering the cost of the brunch.

   Extremely disappointed in the Mother’s Day Brunch I attended today with my 15 year old daughter. We made a reservation and when we got there they said we had to sit outside where no one else was sitting and it was 88 degrees out. We ended up sitting at the bar. Then the $65 brunch was barely the quality of a free hotel buffet. Way over priced for the quality of the food. Biscuits were rock hard, grits were plain. Everything had an odd taste. Not at all what I expected for a bill totaling $180 for one espresso martini, a Shirley temple and two buffets. The only positive was the espresso martini was excellent.

   We were able to get our table right away, but they seemed to be understaffed. Service was pleasant but really slow. The buffet was $65 and we assumed $15 bottomless mimosas as their website indicates, but we were charge $25. For $90 a person, it was not worth the value for overcooked brisket, the seafood buffet was actually served from kitchen with very slow service. We managed to get 6 shrimp on the first serving for the table then on the second serving it was two shrimp and two oysters for our table of 4. Not worth it!

   the mother's day brunch menu was terrible. everything was crammed on one table, half of the food was still covered by tin foil and there were not any serving utensils for some of the dishes. The food was very bland. In addition the " shrimp and oyster" appetizer was controlled by the server and was not enough for a party of 4. The desserts were also controlled by the server and were cold and not very good at all. The peach bourbon crisp was not a crisp but more like soup and was not completely cooked. The price was outrageous for what was served. The music was so loud that our party could hardly talk to each other without screaming. Was very disappointed in this place.

   At first, everyone was alert and attentive, but as the night progressed service drastically declined. Food was good. We had Dynamite shrimp appetizer, Asian salmon, lobster risotto & NY strip. Risotto was undercooked - still had very strong taste of white wine. Service was very disappointing, taking into consideration that the restaurant was half empty. I had to tell twice, 2 different waiters to clean dirty plates off our table. Eventually, the hostess came and cleaned it. One of the waiters ( young guy) Instead of grabbing couple plates told us: I will find your waitress…. In the end we ordered 2 desserts: Panna cotta & key lime tart. Had to wait over 20 minutes!! Pretty ridiculous at 10pm when there was hardly anyone left at the restaurant. Not the service we expect at this type of the Restaurant.

   Unfortunately will not be coming back. I came with my parents for a 7:15pm reservation and things started off good. The spinach dip is delicious. However, after we ordered our food we didn’t actually get it until about 1 hour 20 min later. The manager came by to let us know one of the dishes wasn’t cooked correctly and he had them remake it. Once our food arrived, my dad’s steak was still not cooked right and my mom’s rice was undercooked. They offered new dishes be brought out and my parents kindly declined, but they still came out with the fresh dishes (my dad had already eaten his meal at this point). My mom’s rice was still undercooked. The real surprise came when we received the bill and not one dish was comp’d and no discounts offered. I asked our server and she went to the manager and when she came back there was a 20% discount… which didn’t even cover the cost of one meal. Pretty disappointing to say the least after all of the back and forth plus the long wait we endured. What made this a positive experience was our server Aisha. She was incredible throughout the night and handled all the pains with grace. If it wasn’t for her, we would have had a miserable time. Really wanted to love this place, but it’s a no for me.

    Cute secluded little place. Staff was very nice and attentive. Now that we know it exists we will be back. Looking forward to trying the Happy Hour.
