This restaurant is brought to you by the team at the Wine Kitchen on the Creek (Jeff Beard and John McCain), as well as chef Zack Sampson, manager Ashleigh Wheelock and merry band of characters… We hope you enjoy our restaurant.
I love everything, such fun choices and SO good. Value is the best and so is the service
The menu itself was an adventure. Had fun choosing between unique twists to familiar dishes, or something new that looked amazing. Definitely going back to try some of the dishes that I didn't get to have this time around.
Good food with some interesting items on the menu. We particularly enjoyed the duck rillettes The room temperature was oold enough that we and the people around us kept our jackets on. Service was pleasant but inexperienced. We needed to ask for water refills and were never asked if we wanted a second glass of wine.
First time there. Definitely will be back. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were great. And the window seat was a great place to sit and people watch while we enjoyed our meal.
This place is still new, and I hope they work out the kinks. The food is high quality, although the menu is odd - neither here (New Orleans, its purported inspiration) nor there (Wine Kitchen, its big sister restaurant). The staff is super sweet but pretty clueless - cleared my glass before I was finished, could not be located to provide condiments, etc. There's no bar, so drinks appear to be mixed in a corner of the kitchen and take a very long time to arrive. And the space is... awkward. It's long and narrow, which can't be avoided, but consequently the brightly lit open kitchen at the back glares out into the dining space at that end. Some kind of divider would improve the feng shui. Bottom line: give it a few months!
The server was very friendly. Food was delicious. I had the Shrimp PoBoy with fries and my husband had Trout Almondine.
LOVED the Brussel sprout salad , amazing and so was the Mac and cheese
Great food - creative menu - good wine selections. Disappointed that the fit and finish weren’t as “upscale” as the food deserves (eg paper napkins vs linen; melamine plates vs China). Good service - definitely will be back!
Good food, ok service, I’ll go back for sure. Its a very cute place and my only complaint is that they ran out of beignets.
The Thursday Special is awesome. The fries were the best!!!
We really wanted to like this place, but I am a bit torn on it after our first visit. First, the website says "fast casual" and "order at the counter type place" but they actually take reservations, it is NOT order at the counter, and it is ANYTHING but fast. One the plus side, the drinks were good, including local brews and spirits, although the wine menu is a bit limited. The appetizers were very good- we all really enjoyed the crispy brussel sprouts salad, and a companion from Louisiana said it was some of the best gumbo she has had outside of the state. For the main courses, it was a mixed bag. The burger was large and full of flavor, and the fries were well done, but another companion's grilled cheese was inedible- it arrived looking very dark and tasted like burnt grease (maybe it should have been billed as "blackened grilled cheese). The shrimp po' boy was just ok, as was the coq au vin. The biggest issue was that the food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive. The server kept coming back to apologize for the wait, and finally someone who might have been a manager but did not introduce herself came over after the food arrived to ask if it were ok, but we never figured out what took so long. The place is small., and everyone else appeared to be waiting a long time, as well. We will give it one more chance, but I might play it safe and stick with the burger.
Wonderful food and amazing service. Thank you for great time!
Simple and delightful. We took our family and everyone was impressed with their individual meals. The staff was engaged but didn't hover. We were presently surprised with the whole experience.
