    I ordered the rib eye steak rare plus. Came med well and was like leather. There were also small bugs flying around our table. The waitress was polite and attentive.

    Celebrated our anniversary here on a Sunday evening. It was our first time at Maxwell’s & the food, service & ambience all exceeded our expectations. We had short ribs, the beet salad, tacos, brussel sprouts & the chocolate torte - yum, the food was amazing, ingredients were so interesting & super fresh. We highly recommend this classy hidden gem on the Mississippi.

    The website said that dress was smart casual. When we entered the restaurant there was a group of people who thought they were in a sports bar - talking loud, dressed in summer casual attire - shorts, t-shirts, etc. I was there with my wife celebrating a wedding anniversary and the group gave us a good stare-down. Our table was very small. We had to keep moving things around and had to be very careful not to knock over a wine or water glass. The food was excellent however, but did not make up for the overall experience, especially for the price we paid. Overall somewhat disappointed. Probably won’t return for a special meal, like an anniversary.

    Maxwell’s has a great location and excellent ambiance. Unfortunately, the service was slow, due to understaffing, and the food, an over-cooked pistachio chicken dish and under-flavored short ribs, were less than satisfactory and served cold.

    Excellent food - best steak I've had in a long time, and the crab cake was fresh and perfect. The Muscatini and Blue Button cocktails were great! Very professional service - always a treat to dine here.

    Stopped in for lunch and had an outstanding selection of salads, sandwiches and sides! The Ruben and Berry burger were delicious. Both served with a side salad. The salads was excellent, fresh and flavorful. We had sides of clam chowder, sweet potato fries and wings. All were delicious with nice presentation. Service was excellent as well with nice views from the large windows overlooking the river. Definitely recommend!

    Always enjoy how delicious the food is prepared no matter the season. Service was excellent. Recommend my favorite: Berry burger with Berry salad! Reservations online are easy! Keep up the great experience.

    A small family gathering. Beautiful ambiance! They were out of a few items on the menu that were chosen when our order was taken….the waitress came back to change our orders for those items.

    Rsvp through OpenTable: a first time user. Arrived and was promptly and pleasantly led to a reserved table. Service was excellent, food was outstanding! Great atmosphere! Everyone looked like they were having a good time. Great place especially for an anniversary celebration (ours) or any occasion deserving of a memorable level meal or just an outing to enjoy a great restaurant.

    Food was great, server was professional, hotel stay was wonderful. The ahi appetizer was both delicious and well presented. My filet was cooked to perfection and there were no leftovers, where there usually are. The Brussels sprouts were to die for! Dessert, though not needed, was super! Can’t wait to come back again! It was a nice mini staycation/belated anniversary celebration away from our dogs and the Quad Cities.

    What a delightful meal and experience! Exceeded all my expectations. First time but it will not be our last. The Merrill Hotel where this is located was also exceptional. Certainly worth the 2 hour drive. We will be back! Husband had the short ribs and I had the grouper both were wonderful. Lovely servers at dinner and breakfast, which also was great. He had the steak and eggs which included a small filet cooked perfectly. I had a terrific fluffy omelet. Love this place. Could not be happier.

    Dinner at Maxwell's was wonderful! The manager was very nice and our waitress, Mercedes, was phenomenal. The food and the signature cocktails were delicious. We sat outside and the ambience was perfect. Highly recommend Maxwell's!

    The Caesar salad was HUGE… a meal itself!! And the filet melted in my mouth. My husband LOVED his NY strip steak. Steaks were cooked to perfection.

    We were celebrating our son's birthday. He typically wants to grill food at home but requested Maxwells. We started with the brussels... Delicious!! We tried different items on the menu (my wife and I split our entree). We had the grouper... I must say that I've never had a better tasting piece of fish. We ordered a side of asparagus... WOW! So much flavor! The rest of our party had a salmon entree, a Big burger and the Rib... The reviews on these 3...Great! Our server (Kayla) was awesome!!! Kayla was very attentive and made some great suggestions for menu items. Thank you for a very nice birthday dinner! 👍

    Restaurant is directly within the lobby of the hotel. There is zero separation from diners and hotel guests. There were lots of softball families the night we dined. They were walking through with their ball bags, uniforms etc. For the expensive price tag, they do not police the atmosphere at all. Food was okay. Got our appetizer before we even got our draft beers.

    I ordered short ribs. Sauce and potatoes were cold. The meal lacked flavor. I don’t know how you can make short ribs that lack flavor but they managed. My fiancé ordered pecan crusted chicken. The chicken was over cooked. Her asparagus was the highlight of both meals. Not what I would expect for a $70 dinner. I will not go back.

    We came over from the Quad Cities, having seen great reviews for this place and looking for a new adventure. This was well worth the trip. The food was fresh, well prepared, and tasted great. The chef brought together some flavor combinations I hadn't had before and they were well crafted. My steak was actually cooked to a perfect medium rare (unusual around here) and my wife's salmon had a great cook as well. Nice experience and would definitely recommend it.
