Great Place! Awesome Location! The Staff Friendly and Amazing!
The manager is not very professional. If a guest is not happy with how the food is cooked, just fix it. He does not need to try to make the customer feel dumb. I have managed many places, and would never treat my guests like that. He alone made our night a bad experience. I will not return do to my treatment.
Fantastic meal and drinks. Wife had the Berry Burger. Said it was the best burger she'd ever had. I did the short rib. Super tender and flavorful. Unique drinks as well. Loved it.
Outstanding experience! Tessa is the best chef. Can't beat the river view!
Modern and exquisite tastes that are completely authentic and original. The Pasta Bolognese was a delicious and very well curated taste.
The food was amazing and checking in was easy! Had a great time the only flaw was nobody waited on us for 20ish minutes and had to go find waitress after several others were served before us. It seems to be a fluke incident and will be going back as the prices and quality of food were perfect.
Maxwell's on the River was our choice for Christmas Dinner....the huge open lobby and restaurant overlook the Mississippi River where we watched bald eagles soaring and diving for fish. The Christmas decorations were gorgeous and the service was terrific. The spicy shrimp and pasta dishes were delicous. We will be back.
The best food that I have come across in Muscatine.
Enjoyed my first dining experience at Maxwell’s! Food was amazing - my two favorites were Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer and Key Lime Creme Brûlée for dessert. Will frequent often.
The food was amazing and worth the price but it is pricey. Amazing place to go wish I could afford it more often. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and very friendly and funny to not just our table but other tables around. Very clean and quick as well
Appropriate social distancing and masking and really nicely curated wine list and menu. Delightful.
We were there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We ordered the NY Strip Steak. The dish for the memory of Mike Furlong. We were seated immediately and our waitress was there very quickly. The steak was delicious, the sukatash was bland the the mashed potato was tasteless. After checking with us twice, the waitress just seemed to disappear. We waited for awhile after we completely our meal and then went to the host and asked for our bill. Right after we did that our waitress appeared and said she would get the bill. The host communicated to her that he had already printed the bill. I paid with cash. Since we split the meal, our bill was only approximately $55.00. The waitress brought back approximately $45.00 ( two twentys and a five) I had to go to the host to break one of the twentys so I could leave an appropriate and reasonable tip. I hope this all makes sense. I think our waitress may have been new. I would recommend Maxwell's as a fine dining restaurant and hotel. I might tell them to avoid the sukatash and the mashed potatos.
Beautiful spot on the river!! Food, service and ambiance are on par with major cities Thank you Merrill!!
The food was great! I loved the river view. Service was fast and friendly.
The food and service was amazing! We really enjoyed it! The only problem was that there was some construction right next to us that made the noise level quite loud and took from the atmosphere. Otherwise it would have been perfect!
Food was great as always!
They had a great selection on their menu and a few specials that we were able to try! Can’t wait to come back!
Very quiet, not busy. Nice view of the river. Food was good. Had the short rib, it was very tender and tasty along with the mashed potatoes. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it.
Great View, Fantastic Food, Service was Awesome... but once the food showed up, we wished we had gotten a table inside, the flies were terrible (but what do you expect on a summer day by the river?) Would Definitely eat there again!
Personnel went out of their way to be outstanding.....from service, recommendations, to
trying to procure a liquor they didn't have in their bar! I will go back even though it is an
hour of driving time!
Food was wonderful, a great take on midwestern fare. Staff and service was some of the best I’ve experienced
Very nice server, excellent food. Ambiance is slightly off since it's part of a hotel lobby.
Beautiful setting. Great Reuben sandwich. Quick and professional service despite the fact the restaurant was very busy.
Steak was ice cold and service was really slow considering there was only 10 people in there. Other then that the food was good.
It's a Must! When in Muscatine, Iowa, please make time for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner at This amazing restaurant. Chef Tess is wonderful but her food is better. The Merrill Hotel & Conference Center is where you can find all the action.
We went to Muscatine for the holiday train. The restaurant and hotel are beautiful, but you’re effectively eating in the lobby with all the other visitors. Loved the openness, but it could use a glass wall around it or something to separate it out a little. Food was good, not great for the price, but those cookies were unbelievable. Best sugar cookie ever?! Baked potato wasn’t quite fully baked, steak was a little more charred and done than expected. Service was phenomenal, especially considering the large number of guests visiting the event and in our party of 11. Definitely a place we’d like to try again on a quieter evening and would definitely recommend it to others.
Staff is very nice. Just very inexperienced. They have a wonderful venue, good food. Again, just very inexperienced. If I ran the hotel, the team needs training, not different people, just training. A bunch of good hearted people that need culinary and hospitality trains. I will definitely be back and I'm sure they will be great.
