Always a great experience. The food options have gone to far from the original offerings and not as tasty. Please get some of what made you successful back. Chicken has changed its very dry. It once was the best in town.
music a little loud. was unable to converse with people at table without screaming.
Service was very good, waiter was very attentive and friendly.
Service and food were fantastic
Server was very nice and food was tasty....once it finally arrived....food took way too long
Finally tried Max's Famous Fried Chicken! It was really good. The portion size is huge! The highlight for me was the crispy deviled egg with crab meat! OMG! A must try!
Fried chicken is their signature dish and it did not disappoint. I was lured into getting the smoked salmon board by the pretzel bread, it was interesting but did not wow me. I will definitely try the wings and waffles next time.
Matt was a FANTASTIC server. He treated us very well, knew the menu and the wine list, and was an absolute professional. We’ll be back SOON.
Food was great. Seated near the time of my reservation. The service (Stephanie) was the best. Food tasted great.
I was asked online if there was a special occasion. I said that it was my wife’s birthday. I reminded the server after we were seated. The restaurant didn’t make accommodation for the birthday. Why do they ask if there is a special occasion when they don’t acknowledge it?
No need to go here for a special occasion.
The food was good. I think it’s mostly a gay spot tho. Our waiter was an old guy not really fond of his attitude
First time at this location, but it was amazing. The service was great, they checked on us from beginning to end. The food was amazing as well.
Creme Brûlée french toast wasn't as good as it used to be :( and the portion was smaller also. We ordered drinks, bloody mary & mimosa; very expensive and smallest in town.
My family enjoyed everything. We will definitely return. The service was superb.
Excellent food but our waiter left much to be desired. He did not write anything down when we ordered and subsequently forgot several things. He repeatedly told us that the menu had X on it or that a certain side dish came with a certain main dish and was wrong three times. He was slow and we had to flag him down for new drinks and to bring the things he forgot - needs more training.
First time at the Fairview location. Washington location way better. Everything we ordered drink wise they didn’t have. It took almost an hour to get served. Our server was great though. She apologize more than one time about food taking so long
Our first time a Max's Wine Dive. Our waiter Oliver was attentive and helpful. The food was much better than I might have guessed from the menu. One of us ordered the vegetarian curry dish, which didnt sound that interesting to me, but it turned out to be delicious. I had a fish special which was also delicious and creatively made. We would definitely go back.
This was our 2nd time dining here and were not disappointed
Both times got the fried chicken and the macaroni & cheese and both are great
My first time and I loved it. Good brunch on a Monday!! Delicious food! Good service. Will be back.
We went for Sunday Brunch and it was fabulous. Wings and Waffles - YUM!
What can I say...the fried chicken is amazing. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Their menu is unique and I’ll be back!
Overall good. Nothing worth to brag about, but not criticize
plus the music was not as loud as before and was very pleasant to have conversation at our table.
This is the second time I have had this particular waiter in a 2 month span. The first time I felt that he was a little overwhelmed because it was a larger crowd. That is expected. On yesterday I got the same guy and it was about four of us. The first thing was it took about 30 mins for someone to even recognize that I have not been waited on, not so much as a glass of water. I did not initially complain about that because I was waiting on a few friends to join me. Once they got there the waiter was mixing up our orders and checks and again seemed very overwhelmed. I am not sure if he had too many tables but since this was my second time with him it became very frustrating that I couldn’t enjoy my meal.
Love their fried chicken, and mashed potatoes!
The Food was very good, but it was a little pricey.
Very good service and the food was delicious! Our waitress/bartender was really friendly and helpful with wine and food selection.
This was our 4th or 5th time at Max's. Food was excellent as usual, wine recommendation was excellent as well. Sat at one of the "high tables" this time - not as comfortable seating as the tables along the wall. Service was good for the most part - waiter "disappeared" for long stretches a couple times, especially towards the end when we were wanting/needing our check.
Max's is always a treat but Saturday's brunch was awesome our group ended up being 14 people & our waiter i wish i could remember his name was FANTASTIC! A big rowdy group can be tough to handle but he did it like a champ & allowed us to have a blasts. thank you!
Great service during our awesome brunch!
MAX’s is my go to spot where I know the Mimosas and good will be good. The place is always packed, so make sure you make a reservation so you won’t spoil that appetite by waiting.
Great food , excellent Sunday brunch.
Wonderful Brunch after church
We have never been disappointed in the terrific food at Max’s. Add to that the very friendly, efficient, and personal service we receive from our waiter, Manny, and this is one of our “go-to” spots, where we know we will not be disappointed.
Annual gathering of friend
Great place in a developing neighbourhood
Awesome culinary twists on traditional brunch options. Best grits anywhere. Highly recommend.
Service was great and food was exceptional. Not crowded at all.
Waited over an hour to get food for table of 4. The specialty southern fried chicken is not as good as remembered. Was poorly battered missing half on each piece
I am from NYC visiting the parents in Houston for Mother’s Day. MAX’s was vibrant, great energy. Staff was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Drinks were awesome, had the bloody Mary’s and champagne. Glass was skunky, waiter switched it out immediately. Chicken was divine, deviled eggs with fried oyster on top delightful. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Will be coming back when in Houston again.
