MAX's Wine Dive Fort Worth - W. 7th St. Ratings and Reviews
Food was EXCELLENT and the atmosphere was even better. It was a simple date night experience, but we were going for something on the unbeaten or unfamiliar path. We were pleasantly and emphatically surprised at the food selection simple and quaint yet tantalizing and eccentric with a flavorful flair. The atmosphere was quiet enough to converse without the silence of crickets chirping. We decided we would return for more sampling of the tasty menu before we had even gotten our meals. The appetizers were exquisite and had our mouths watering for the main course. There’s was no let down or disappointment either. The wine selection is fabulous, service was fantastic, and we have definitely added this place in our rotation of favorites.
I was treating my sister to a much needed Girls' Weekend. We had tickets to a matinee performance, and wanted to have brunch before hand. What a terrific place. The seasonal mimosa was outstanding, the food was delicious and more than either of us could eat, and our waitress was friendly and fun. I would definitely recommend this spot for great food and a great time.
The food was very good. I had a $50 Open Table credit and gave it to my sever before I ordered. When she brought me the bill she had not taken off the $50 and I had to remind her about the certificate I brought in. I was disappointed I had to remind her. Other than that I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Visited for Valentines Day, late dinner. Small restaurant, but service was outstanding. The Fried Chicken is a must try.. delicious along with the greens and mashed potatoes were equally as good. Laid back atmosphere, dress is pretty casual. Pretty good music played from the jukebox
We truly enjoyed the shrimp and grits & pork shank - delicious... an overall excellent dining experience thanks to our very pleasant, attentive server (Lauren) spending extra time to explain menu details. We never felt rushed & truly appreciated her helpfulness. She’s quite an asset to this establishment.
Love the ambiance and vibe at Max's. First visit. We came for Sunday brunch. I ordered Smoked Salmon Benedict and The Secretary of the Interior ordered the Honey Butter Benedict. Both were OK but the Wow Factor anticipated by the dishes descriptions and visual presentation upon arrival did not materialize upon digging in. First, both the fried eggs atop the chicken biscuit and the salmon Benedict were perfectly cooked. Usually an excellent indicator of a well prepared Benedict. But while the fried chicken tenders on the Honey Butter Bene came out piping hot there was just no zip or flavor to speak of in the crust. The crust was crispy, but remarkably bland. And over all there was just not anything about the dish that would compel us to order it again.
The smoked salmon Benedict, aside from the eggs, was cold from top to bottom. If the house made focaccia and sautéed arugula on which the salmon rested were warm to begin with they were cooled off by the salmon that appeared to have been added to the dish straight from the refrigerator. Even the hollandaise was at best room temperature. This dish has the potential to sing if everything were hot and when plating, the salmon was added at room temperature.
The jalapeño-cheese grits are pretty tasty but neither of us could detect the slightest amount of jap heat or flavor. But the grits are nicely cooked, pleasantly cheesy and creamy.
Our server was appropriately and very pleasant. We will definitely return on another occasion
Went for brunch. Service wasn’t great but not horrible. My fiancé’s Santorini omelet was good. My steak omelet was not. Rubbery and over cooked filet . Also I requested egg whites and it came out regular. Server never came to check on us until meal was over. Wine based Bloody Mary was surprisingly good.
My wife had the Shrimp & Grits, she said they were fabulous. I had the burger which is a combination of meats ground together, I ordered it medium and it came out well done which was disappointing. The fries were very good. We had those dishes, an appetizer and 2 drinks each and the bill was $93! $113 with the tip, seemed high for what we ordered. The service was spot on!
Lots of Foodie Buzz around this joint! MAX’s DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
We are not drinkers, but was drawn strictly on the food buzz. For those that do drink, extensive wines and full bar.
Sydney was AWESOME as our server and was super familiar with menu, prep, and history/menu rotation. THIS PROPELS ESTABLISHMENTS INTO GREATNESS on the foodie scene.
One critique: for non drinkers, the choice of salad dressings needs to be expanded to 3 options as the 2 available force the nondrinker choice to just Caesars. Non drinkers would like a sweet or savory choice.
Mac N Cheese OUTSTANDING
Fried Chicken OUTSTANDING (greens stellar)

Nice man came and chatted and checked on our experience. Manager? Owner? Chef? Oopsy- He forgot his own intro. But fun to talk with and had good presentation...
I enjoyed everything about this.
To bad my friend of color did not..... Come on y'all would it hurt to have a few black customers on a Sat night? Not even a black server or bar tender?
I REALY looked forward to visiting this spot. I read the reviews.
But my date felt so out of place we left... Waited till 3 other, larger tables were sat despite our reservation. Then we were sat in front of the bathrooms....
Only black guy in the place.... We got water, left a $5 tip & left.
Come on y'all do better
Max's never fails! Took my boyfriend here for his first time on NYE and we had an amazing time the moment we walked through the door. The hosts were extremely friendly and personable, our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. And, of course, the food was absolutely delicious. We cannot wait to visit again and try new items on their seasonal menu!
