Your prices have gotten extremely high and the amount of food does not suffice. I will not be back until you lower them.
We truly had the most terrific time for our Saturday Brunch with the ladies! To the sweetest waitress, host, and bus person....THANK YOU! We will be coming again soon.
Staff was disorganized and unattentive. Not intamate or romantic.
Cody was our server. Great and attentive. I deliberated on the St. Louis ribs or the beef short ribs. I opted for the St. Louis ribs. Somewhat chewy, didn't really the skillet potatoes or roll. The poblano cream corn and moscato champagne were the best part of my meal tonight. My birthday was Monday and this was the first time in years that I was disappointed. So, I guess that's not too bad.
So delicious, great drinks too! Great service! This was our 4th visit to Max's wine dive and we are never disappointed
Took my dad for the first time he looked. Our waitress was phenomenal
Great but they closed the Dallas location after we visited. I'm so disappointed.
The sliders were ok, I should've opted out of the honey butter it was way too sweet and drowned out the nice taste of the chicken. I don't know my the mac and cheese is so raved about either because it was so bland...
the French fried were a surprise big hit though, I really liked them. Salt and pepper needs to be on these tables.
Exceptional! Thank you for attention and amazing service. Sean, our waiter, was beyond accommodating. The bananas foster was out of this world amazing. Caramelizing the banana slices was a nice touch.
Music was loud. Service was subpar. It says online that the happy hour lasts till 7, but waitress told us it ended at 6. Fort Worth location was MUCH better. Won't be returning.
The music was loud for the size of the crowd in the restaurant. Our server while attentive made multiple mistakes with our order. Please someone teach young servers to write the order down rather than trying to remember all of it.
Unfortunately the bar got one of the simple martini orders wrong three times...otherwise the food was great
A year or so ago, I had a poor experience here, but things have changed and this Max's deserves my very positive review!
My wife and I went to a show last Thursday night, and knew we would be eating late and booked a table through Google/Open Table for 10:30pm. Having worked in a restaurant for 6 years in the past, I know that nobody gets excited for the last table of the night to show up 30 mins before close (when the kitchen is supposed to close when we arrive) and I have empathy for the crew when we are the last table. Fortunately, the bar manager Sean and the executive chef Sam made us feel like we were the complete opposite of a bother. They were incredible to us.
My wife has Celiac Disease. We had a question for Sean about if one item could be made gluten free. Rather than guess, he brought Sam out from the kitchen and Sam explained everything and answered all of my wife's questions, including explaining why some things could not be modified to be gluten free. Sean's attentiveness, kindness, and attention to detail really showed throughout the dinner. He even remembered something we said shortly after we arrived, and acknowledged it as we were leaving. Very thoughtful.
The food was spot on. Everything came out perfect and Sean checked on us as well as Sam came out to ask us how everything was. He even explained how the ribs were prepared and gave me a tip on how to make corn as good as that which came with the ribs. The warm brussel sprouts on the seasonal menu were the best we have ever had anywhere. They are a must, even if you don't think you like brussel sprouts.
Not once did we feel rushed or that anyone was growing impatient with us. Sean and Sam were genuinely polite and friendly from the moment we sat down until we left and that meant a lot. I understand they are both relatively new, so I hope they become a critical part of the long term plan, because while the food was very good, their service will have us back the next time we go downtown.
I really enjoyed my dinner at Max's. The cracklin chicken and risotto was absolutely amazing.
We've been to Max's several times now. The food is always good and plentiful. My only disappointment was the gin drink a few of us ordered. It tasted a little on the watery side. Next time it will be strictly wine. Otherwise, it was a great evening with good food and friends.
