Max's Harvest Ratings and Reviews
As always, the food was exceptional but they ran out of chicken and waffles, and orange juice at the mimosa bar. The service left much to be desired. Our server was indifferent and uninterested. Very disappointing experience overall.
Sunday brunch service took an hour. When we asked the waiter where our meal was, he said that they were short staffed and, also, that our meal was delayed because we ordered an appetizer. No apologies, no rolls, rude attitude. Eggs were delivered to the table cold.
meh... service and atmosphere were and always are good. food, for the first time, was very average. ribs over cooked (if this is possible). very dry.. chicken has changed dramatically. what the hell happened to the brick chicken??? many of the familiar staples are no longer on the menus. corn with chicke was good. other vegetable was unrecognizable in color, texture and taste... (it was purple). really nice to catch up with an old friend but... when you take them to your “go to place” and have an average meal it is very disappointing. petite amarone was very good but WAY over priced... $48 on menus, $15.99 on vivino. it’ll be a while before i return again. :(
I've been here before and love it!!! The food is always amazing, atmosphere is warm and cozy - This particular night they were short staffed and appeared to have only one waitress - Not too worried about it as we were chatting the night away, but we had an event to attend - I would definitely return!! Love this restaurant
This was one of my favorite places and chose to go celebrate my birthday, but what a disappointment.
Place was empty, one server and food was just not the same. We actually sent back a horrible dish of gnocchi.....it was truly uneatable.
So sad, I will never go back.
Had a great meal with some friends. Enjoyed the new menu. Unfortunately they were out of the hogfish dish we were wanting to try but the tile fish was a delicious substitute. The tomato tart burrata salad was super. The fresh ricotta doughnuts were heavenly!
Waiter impatient and arrogant. Asked about the Hogfish and he told us mild white fish. Whole fish no head or bones.
We were a party of 4. My husband ordered everything for us to share. Nothing was shared. The fish was the size of a guppy; and so over-salted, I was unable to eat it. Our friends had ordered salads. They were dropped off and no one offered cracked pepper and both of them wanted both salt and pepper. None was on the table or offered.
I called the hostess over to tell her about the service and the fish. She told me she would get the manager. So much time passed before she came to the table that everyone else had finished eating
The manager offered to replace the entree. I asked if salad could be fast. It was.
By the way, the hush puppies were great as were the apple salad and the shrimp salad.
We were underwhelmed and disappointed, especially after reading about the restaurant in the Sun Sentinal.
Max's Harvest needs to step up it's game.
Fortunately, it was a nice day and we were able to sit outside, which allowed us to have a conversation. Had we not been able to sit outside, we would have canceled our reservation since it is far too noisy inside. That would have been a shame since Max's food is so good.
The food was really good not utterly amazing but yet very good - I would eat there again.
The best part - was the staff. They were extremely polite, attentive and the best part they made us feel like family.
Oh - they allowed us to bring our two dogs and we're very nice to them also.
I can't recommend Max's Harvest because I didn't find the food equal to the cost. My feeling when I left the restaurant was that the food was fine. Based on what I spent, I would have expected the food to be outstanding. I also had a hard time believing the farm to fork concept. My understanding is that the menu changes according to what is in season. Aside from a few selections, that particular idea was not evident.
My second time at this excellent farm to table place. The staff is friendly and knowledgable; the cauliflower appetizer was great. The hogshead fish excellent. The desserts were very good, not as good as the savory courses but enjoyable. My favorite place when I visit Delray Beach.
