Max’s is AMAZING!!! They are always updating their menu, creating amazing specials and the staff is so friendly! We are in their outside tent and it was beautifully decorated, ambience was nice and it wasn’t too cold. They did a great job having to modify the way they serve people.

Our cocktails were super delish- and meals prepared perfectly. I love that my fiancé loves a hamburger, even on our anniversary dinner. He says they are just so good there. I had the special fish and it was super yum! Would order again in a heartbeat

We took advantage on one of the last nights we were allowed to dine out at one of the nicer restaurants in town. We are so glad we chose Max’s, our whole experience was phenomenal. We ate in the tent outside but it was warm and cozy with more than 6 feet between tables. It all started with our server Megan...she was friendly, knowledgeable and made great suggestions. I decided to try the meatloaf that I had heard friends rave about and I wasn’t disappointed, it was delicious. Megan suggested I try the Brussels sprouts instead of the regular veggies and they were the BEST I have ever had. My husband was going to get the chicken but when he heard about the halibut special he opted for that...again it was perfect. The food was incredible the service was so good it truly enhanced our evening. We made reservations for New Year’s Eve and hopefully they will be back to outdoor dining. We will also request Megan as our server...she was the best!

Tremendous evening with friends with conversation that included our server Sierra! The best food, drinks, wine. JJ and the staff know how to make you feel comfortable and serve well thought culinary delights.

They are doing a wonderful job of providing an excellent dining experience given all the COVID 19 restrictions they have to adhere to. Above all the food was wonderful and we want to support them as much as possible so they continue to be in business. They have been our go to place for special occasions for years!

We went for brunch and our meals were fantastic, service was excellent. We typically don't order dessert but splurged on the Apple pie/tart. The server warned us that there was a 10 minute wait, but every minute was worth it! It was a fantastic dessert.

Food was outstanding, as usual. But the outdoor-only service (due to Covid) in the big white tent was terrible because it was freezing and they had no heaters. They need to get the temperature in the rent straightened out or stop serving in the tent. When you pay $180+ for two-person dinner and drinks, you expect to eat in comfort!

Friendly management and staff. Knowledgeable wait staff. Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Eating indoors was the best part. I look forward to going back as soon as indoor dining is allowed again! Would recommend, highly!

It was my first time and I loved it. The servers were very attentive. When I finished my food, it didn’t even take 2 minutes before my plate was gone from the table.

An excellent experience and will be back for a visit soon!

One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time! Will definitely return an, would recommend this restaurant to everyone! The waitress was amazing, everyone greeted us which was very nice. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious! Everything was perfect!!

Just waiting for the Covid issue to be behind us so we can enjoy the full service and full menu.

Service was slow with drinks and taking the meal order. The food arrived in an expedite manner......after it was ordered.

It has been a while since we have eaten....only because so many good places to eat in Fresno/Clovis area. We went in service was great the food got many yums and we were so glad we decided to eat here .....great choices and will return without a doubt.

The food is always excellent. Staff is attentive and have good recommendations. Price are very reasonable as well. This is my fav place. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday with my wife. It was very quiet and I was able to eat indoors which was great. staff was awesome, we had great service, food came out quickly and was delicious!! Had the peppercorn short rib sandwich, it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a really long time. I also came her for Valentine’s day and the service was just as good! I will continue to return here as it is consistently good and I like it’s low key location

Beautiful indoor decor as well as the outdoor dining options. Excellent bread with vinegar and oil. The food was excellent but the service was extremely slow. The bar order was extremely slow as well.

Excellently prepared food and many delicious options. They served a complimentary tasting item that was delightful. We ordered several appetizers, drinks and main courses. All were good portion sizes and very flavorful. Nice wine list as well. I recommend trying one of the ports with dessert! Service was great, did not try to rush us out and setting allowed for ease of talking/hearing table conversation.

Max's is my fav place to dine! The food is delicious and the ambiance is very relaxing and enjoyable. Great place to invite friends for nice and cozy visit! Thank you Max's!

Service was excellent!

After some initial confusion as to whether they had my reservation (that I booked through Open Table), we were seated promptly in the outdoor area. The service was attentive, but not as polished as I would have expected from an upscale place. The food was very good. A little on the spicy side, but that was expected. I did ask for salt because I thought the short ribs needed a little more. They brought a small dish and spoon for me. The wine/bar prices were a little on the high side. The cocktail I had was well made. The list of wines by the glass was very short - about one option for each variety. I've eaten here before and this visit was consistent with prior visits.

This restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Consistently great dishes (don't ever forego the halibut preparations!) and some of the best cocktails, Max's is a great place to meet friends, host business dinners, or have a date night experience. The service is excellent and the staff is warm and attentive. The Trio of Fries is their signature appetizer and I personally recommend the Max's Mule cocktail. They also have an excellent wine list and great by the glass selections. This restaurant should be on everybody's "don't miss" list.

Dinner in middle of COVID-19 25% restriction capacity. Food was good.....indoor dinning. Way better than the alternative (restaurants closed).

We had Birthday Dinner with Family and friends, they did an Amazing job with quality and presentation of food

Our waitress was rude. When we asked where our dessert was she said “I didn’t know you were on a time frame”. That was so out of line. She said the pie takes 12 minutes to bake. We waited 30. She should have had the pie start baking when we were almost finished with lunch.

The petite filet and Brussels sprouts with bacon are amazing! I will be coming back for this meal.

I got the shrimp and grits and it had no flavor whatsoever and the grits tasted like chalk. I was very disappointed

Lunch was impeccable,well flavored French Dip meat with awesome roll, friend had a huge hamburger he said it was awesome, service was great ..

The food and drinks were very good and the service was excellent. Of course at this time its outside seating but it was well laid out. Its prices are on the high end but you get great food and service so in my opinion it was well worth it and I will be going back. Jeff.

Really enjoyed our dining experience at Max’s. Their food is always exceptional! They seems slightly understaffed as the service was not as prompt. Our drinks seemed to be taking longer than usual. The filet was exceptional, as always. Otherwise, the whole experience was a nice break from eating at home!

Always enjoy Maxs for dinner. Megan was an outstanding server and everyone is friendly and ambiance is nice. The Maxs burger is a favorite and the special which was pasta was excellent. Would always recommend Maxs for a great dining experience.
