Maximiliano Ratings and Reviews
We joined friends for dinner at Maximiliano and enjoyed it. The gluten-free pizza crust was a little on the chewy side and there was a little too much sauce on the puttanesca, but the cauliflower side dish was outstanding and the flavors overall were very good. Also very reasonable wine prices. An excellent neighborhood hangout for a casual evening.
I was in from out of town visiting my daughter at Oxy and we returned to Maximiliano’s and had a great meal. The Scottish Salmon was perfect and the Caccio e Pepe pasta delicious. My daughter prefers a drier version of that pasta but was very happy with this. They have a nice wine list and I enjoyed the Nebbiolo. The service was great and everyone was super nice. The noise level was just right. Will definitely go back!!
As always, the eggplant appetizer is a winner. Also tried the bianca pizza for the first time and was really impressed. One persistent problem that happens every time we're there: they never bring serving utensils! So for example, you have a bowl of piping hot, cheese covered eggplant with no spoon to serve it up. Same goes for salads and appetizers in general. So please, try to remember to bring over a large spoon or other serving utensil, thanks!
The reviews are pretty accurate. I enjoyed the appetizers more so than the main meal, and I REALLY enjoyed the desserts!! They do not have a full bar, which I wish I had paid attention to that little detail. The server was super busy with about 3 big parties of 6 or more people, so understand he was spread super thin... but we made reservations and I'm sure those people did too... they should have staffed accordingly. Or placed us in different sections so another staff member could serve us.
We love this place for special occasions, if family and friends are in town, or just for a nice dinner out. The staff is great and it is very kid friendly while keeping the ambience warm and romantic. It's great for a family night out while still feeling like an adult.
Came here for NYE dinner. The restaurant was fairly full when we arrived, but we had reservations and were promptly seated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered a pizza to start and it was delicious. I highly recommend trying one of their pizzas.
For dinner, we each ordered one of their pasta options. I ordered a seafood pasta that was a special that night and it was amazing. The seafood was well cooked, as was the pasta.
We've been here before many times and we are never disappointed.
Our group of six had a lovely time enjoying very attentive service, delightful food & drink! My Italian BF couldn't bring himself to leave a single drop of sauce after finishing his fresh Tagliatelle....he said it was as good as his Aunts' would make when visiting Italy growing up!
The food is usually good, but this last time things didn’t seem to taste as good as we remember. The service was pretty disappointing! Our server was quite forgetful and it seemed as though they were short staffed because we couldn’t seem to get anyone’s attention for our requests! :((
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and also my birthday. It was a Wednesday night, and was pretty slow only a few tables sat.
Our waitress must have been trying to fit one last table in her shift, because we were greeted within 2 minutes (great) and immediately asked if we were ready to order. We were only ready to order waters and had not even glanced at the menu.
Upon returning with waters, we were asked if we were ready to put food in again, and 4 MORE TIMES within 10 minutes...
It was a little uncomfortable, especially since we were looking for a place to come in, relax, have a bite, enjoy each other.
I have never felt so rushed in a restaurant setting, and I was so disappointed because it was a special day for us both.
The food was incredible, wine selection great. But unfortunately I felt so uncomfortable I would not recommend it to any of my friends - she made us feel like we were more a nuisance than a guest.
Maximiliano's is always consistently good. Nice wine and beer selection. The side dishes and appetizers can make up a meal if you're not craving pasta or pizza. I haven't eaten the poultry or meat, but many of my friends have. They say the roasted chicken is crave-worthy dish. All of the desserts are delicious and fresh.
I had the seafood linguine. I was told by the server that the noodles were handmade. However, the noodles were not thoroughly cooked so I could not taste the freshness as well as the creaminess that fresh handmade noodles should have. The food overall was salty. The bread chips that served with the pasta were too hard and chewy. The ambience was great with nice layout and decoration.
I've reviewed this several times, so not much to add. Our service on this occasion was slow at first, but warm and friendly. I am concerned that their red wines are not being stored at the proper temperature (they've always been served on the warm side) so although they have some interesting, aged choices, probably best to stick with young whites. Anyway, good, solid neighborhood standby with a diverse enough menu to please most everyone.
