Maximiliano Ratings and Reviews
Maximiliano's is always consistently good. Nice wine and beer selection. The side dishes and appetizers can make up a meal if you're not craving pasta or pizza. I haven't eaten the poultry or meat, but many of my friends have. They say the roasted chicken is crave-worthy dish. All of the desserts are delicious and fresh.
I had the seafood linguine. I was told by the server that the noodles were handmade. However, the noodles were not thoroughly cooked so I could not taste the freshness as well as the creaminess that fresh handmade noodles should have. The food overall was salty. The bread chips that served with the pasta were too hard and chewy. The ambience was great with nice layout and decoration.
I've reviewed this several times, so not much to add. Our service on this occasion was slow at first, but warm and friendly. I am concerned that their red wines are not being stored at the proper temperature (they've always been served on the warm side) so although they have some interesting, aged choices, probably best to stick with young whites. Anyway, good, solid neighborhood standby with a diverse enough menu to please most everyone.
Had such a great experience here. We sat outside and it was the perfect atmosphere for our triple date of friend's meeting for the first time. The string lights and surrounding plants made it very nice yet intimate and comfortable. Inside was louder and hoppin and definitely recommend the outside seating.
Love the authentic food. I've taken out of state guests several times lately and you've never let us down...a great introduction to the L A food scene!!
I've actually gotten used to the noise level and it lends to more private conversations. An all- around winner! You'll see us again soon.
Maximiliano never disappoints.
The food is great, the space itself is well designed and nicely laid out.
It does get a bit noisy inside on a Friday night, but that is part of the place's vibe.
The patio outside is very charming.
Maximiliano has a small. It very nice wine selection.
Their pork chop is incredible.
They also have a gluten free pizza crust that is quite good.
I really enjoyed the food, however I was not aware ahead of time that if we wanted to bring in our own cake for a birthday it was $6 per person to eat the cake. That is not listed on your website or menu. Not to mention that is one of the highest charges I have ever seen for bringing in your own cake. I did not appreciate that at all considering that I have been to much more high end restaurants and not had as much of an issue as I did at Maximiliano's. I will definitely reconsider going to this restaurant in the future whether or not we have an outside cake.
WE went on a very hot night in LA and were sat on the patio. Normally the patio is wonderful. The LA weather was not cooperating so we were sweating but the staff kept the cold water coming so we were fine. The food was delicious as usual at Maximiliano's. We enjoyed salads, pasta, and pizza. Haven't had anything here that I haven't liked.
Pizza ( Margarita) was disappointing, the pomodoro sauce tasted too much of tomato paste, yet a bit too fluid. The cheese had very little taste and the basil while large leaves were used also had little taste. The dough also tasted as if it had been frozen and looked as if it had been commercially formed. We have eaten there several times and this was an aberration-- we hope.
Came here for the first time on a first date. And it was just what I wanted, especially with the outdoor patio, which is open yet feels intimate. The prices brought me here for a date too. Was able to enjoy a nice "neighborhood Italian" without overspending. Will come here again :)
My party and I had a great time the only thing we wanted to suggest was maybe having some sort of music. As well as in the summer to have a fan the rotates we were dying or humidity we had to take our party inside. Very beautiful back yard 😊Thank you for the hospitality.
We've eaten here for years, but Friday's dinner with friends was particularly nice. The food was excellent and the service was very good, especially given how busy there became. I particularly recommend there vegetable side dishes: they are easily enough to share and are particularly creative and tasty. I love their house-smoked salmon pizza; not as impressed with their plain cheese pizza. Our guests seemed to enjoy the pasta and salmon chowder. I love the olives and bread appetizers. Be warned, though, the cost increases quickly as almost everything is a la carte. Great craft beer list!
Been here a few times, and don't want to write a full review, but just want to point out a positive that stood out and a negative. Positive: the waitress returned a cash tip left by our friends, who hadn't noticed that the tip was already included due to our being a large party. That was very honest of her, and we sincerely appreciate it. Negative: the dessert (berry buckle) tasted fine, but had clearly been microwaved which made it both soggy and insanvely hot. Also the ice cream seemed grocery store--no better than Dreyer's.
We introduced our friends to patio dining at Maximiliano's. The 6 of us were first placed at the picnic table. When a better location became available, the staff cheerfully moved us. (The picnic table has a patio roof support beam in the center which was ackward for conversation.)
We love the arugula salad and the burrata pizza. We have several favorite dishes. And we like the choice of 6 or 8 oz glasses of wine.
We go often to Maximiliano's. Valet parking now!! Yay!
This restaurant is in my neighborhood, so it's convenient to bring visiting friends to.
There are enough choices on the menu to accommodate various diets , and it's Italian leaning cuisine is always agreeable . I also like the contemporary interior and hip ambience ,which never fails to impress my visitors . It is also reasonably priced. It would be nice however to offer more daily specials ,for instance seasonal offerings , even if one has to charge more for these . I would then definitely come more often.
