Our favorite food!
The interior is casual but a tiny bit worn -the seats next to us had holes in them. The service was good and attentive but not very well informed. The young lady serving us was confused when I asked if the pizza oven was wood burning. We had the duck breast special which was very good and the short ribs which were very salty. It wasn't a bad experience but not memorable enough to return.
This place was great. The outside seating is really pretty. The only annoying thing wasn’t flies outside but it’s not too bad
Great neighborhood Italian. Would go here weekly if I lived a little closer
Had the most amazing duck pâté, served with crusty bread and pickles. A meal in itself! We also shared a delicious water melon salad and for the main course shared a squid ink seafood pasta! truly a memorable meal! I come here often when I have visitors and want to impress them with a really good neighborhood restaurant. Once again I was impressed how consistent the quality of the food is and this time around even tasted some delightful new surprises!
Been a fan of Maximiliano since it opened. Love the food. Consistently good. Great service and friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
I came here on a Saturday night with a girlfriend and my doggy. Although I had forgot to make my reservation for the patio, the hostess was able to accommodate us right away. Our server greeted us with a bowl of water for my dog and was totally accommodating. The service was fantastic, the food was great, and the ambiance is perfect for any occasion.
Although its reputation began with pizza, that was the most disappointing part of the meal. The rest was fine, and the patio was a quiet relief from the noisy interior.
We enjoyed our meal here very much.
The website says plenty of street parking, well that depends on time of day and which day, but not too bad.
The space has high ceilings, concrete floor, open kitchen, interesting lighting and a cool vibe. There is also a lovely outdoor patio where you can bring your dog!
Mixed clientele, several couples with kids, mostly younger that us.
Service was excellent.
Food was very good and good. We had excellent burrata with toast, tonnato sauce on grilled octopus and greens, perfectly cooked salmon with a beurre blanc sauce and wonderful chocolate cake. The tagliatelle was very good, not great.
We will definitely go back.
I hadn’t been to Maximiliano’s in a couple of years and this visit reminded me of why that was. Service was mediocre!
Loved the food and service
Had dinner with new friends and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our server Jesse was respectful of us letting our conversation happen, and was never pushy. And made everything run smoothly. Roman, the bartender/manager just made sure our night was perfect. This little gem on the EastSide keeps upping its game. Thank you so much Roman and Jesse for understanding how much of an impression great hospitality makes.
Amazing place! Servers are the best, ambience is fun, the best urban Italian ever! We love Chris, Michael, Roman, servers at the counter make the difference and Marcos is an incredible chef! Go you won’t regret it
All was good. May go back.
This place is WONDERFUL!! Food is great, food is great and the outdoor patio dining is stupendous!! We drive a long way to eat here. The owners are so conscientious and welcoming! You will not be disappointed!
African American manager/waitress was rude with attitude. She is not professional and treated customers with annoyance. Will never go back.
Loved this place! Very nice ambiance outside, great service and food. The bar area got busier towards the evening, it had more of a casual and relaxed vibe. Will definitely be back! Thank you for a great night.
Loved the cuttlefish ink pasta!
Dog friendly patio with good food. Their brunch menu will satisfy the pickiest of eaters.
service was great! food was amaze; we ordered supreme pizza and the special for the night, which was Hangar steak! we were celebrating an anniversary, so shared eachother's plates. were were very happy overall and will visit again.
Great place delicious food - our waitress was not so good she seemed to forget most requests and needed to be reminded over and over for the basics- the food was quite good and I’ll be back to give it another try.
Food good but large families with 4 kids on patio was out of control, running around and loud, disturbing other diners. Ruined our meal.
Great food and staff! 💗
Nice place. Good food. Very quiet but is was a Monday night.
Used to be great but became just average, food way too expensive for the quality and service .... well .. be ready to ask for the same things many many time
I realize that Mother’s Day is probably one of the busiest days of the year for a restaurant, however, I felt the 45 minute wait for our food (I had to inquire twice) was unacceptable. My order also ended up being incorrect.
The waiter (manager?) brought three mini muffins to the table and apologized, but to be honest, I felt the bill should’ve been adjusted or comped.
I have been to Maximillianos a few times and have had good dining experiences, so this was a disappointment.
I found this place through the use of mapquest and yelp. The location is in a neighborhood that is becoming gentrified. There is only street parking before six and then they have valet parking. The staff was very friendly and informative about the history of the restaurant. We had a group of five and we were seated outdoors in the patio section. We were offered seats inside but it was a little noisy so we opted for the outside. The food was Fantastic an at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place for dining.
I had never been here but the food and everything was stellar! We had a few small plates and everything was fresh and really tasted homemade. I’ll definitely be back!
Always pleasant for brunch
Always love the food & service. Just have to go in warm nights so we can eat on the patio...can get too loud inside
Always reliable, consistent and tasty. Love the patio for the relaxed atmosphere. Inside is more charged.
MY Favorite place to eat! Lively flavors, great portions, perfectly cooked pastas, wonderful staff. And dog friendly garden dining.
The service, food and atmosphere were all on point. It is a bit pricey tho.
The food was good but not worth the price. Our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there. The layout feels pretty crammed. Didn't feel like we had privacy for our conversation. The appetizer and dinner plates came out all at once, so there was very little room on our table. And by the time we finished the appetizers and moved on to dinner, our plates got a little cold. Timing was off.
Really greasy and rather tasteless Italian food. So many more (better) options in LA
The food was delicious
It was a lovely afternoon. Roman was the best - helped us select a delicious wine and was all around terrific!
Been there a few times but decided to try for Easter Brunch and it was the PERFECT choice. The patio area was delightful and charming, will definitely be going back! Really enjoyed the chef special.
We live in Highland Park and frequent Maximiliano’s. Usually it’s a nice neighborhood restaurant that serves great food and wine with personable service. Our visit Saturday night was very poor. The service was stretched too thin...we waited for our food, which was below their standards and also had to clear our own tables...not once but 3 times! One would think the bartender (manager?) standing there doing nothing would have noticed and helped out. No one at the restaurant had a clue how bad our visit and those around us visits were. Doubtful I’ll spend money there again- too many options care about the customers.
Great night out with friends. We had a comfortable table on the patio, with adequate shade. Friendly, competent service and delicious food. Highly recommended!
