Max - Tribeca
It was so wonderful! The server was so sweet and accommodating, as was the hostess. The pasta felt like an Italian grandmother cooked it, ha! A definite recommendation for friends visiting NYC!
Perfect balance of great food and neighborhood vibe. No sign of tourists! Pastas are amazing and good wine for good value. Apps were just OK but I’m being picky here. This will be a Tribeca staple in no time if it isn’t already.
Seems to have gone downhill since the relocation. We were served a slice and a half of tiny bread and my pasta was overcooked and lacked flavor.
Too noisy and too dark.
First time to this restaurant and I promise you it won’t be our last! The food was just outstanding as was the service and the ambience. True gem on our top list of returns
We really enjoyed our experience at Max and would recommend to others. Usually when I am reading reviews I like to read about which dishes people recommend , what they like best, etc. We unfortunately had a late lunch and were only able to try one app, one salad and one pasta to share so could not compare but everything we had was made well with quality ingredients.
The value and quality were both excellent
Food was amazing!! But noise level made it very difficult to hear the server and dining partners.
This is a great neighborhood place. Lots of families eating here. The pasta is fresh and the dishes are very tasty. The new location is more spacious and easier to navigate.
Everything was great! Heather McMahons hype was real :)
Great place that had our table ready and waiting early despite being completely full for the evening.
Best Italian food I’ve ever had!
This was by far the worst restaurant experience ever. The food was terrible, I have never been to Olive Garden but I am sure they would do a better job, one side was so salted I could not eat it and they didn't even had the decency to deduct the charge. The cuisine was so bad! Salads were depressing and main courses microwaved. Cherry on top the waited told us they had another reservation for the table while we were still having the main course. Truly a disappointment and a NO on every aspect. Poor service and embarrassing quality.
Cozy place, way over-sauced pasta. We were rushed through our meal—which at least means it’s popular.
Went from a recommendation of Heather McMahan. And she did not disappoint. This was phenomenal. My mother and I split several dishes because we just couldn't decide what we wanted the most! Everything was delicious, I've already recommended to 3 people in the past 48 hours. The restaurant was pretty quiet for how many people were there. The service was attentive but not overbearing. And the wine was AMAZING. Pricey but well worth your cash.
My fave in Tribeca for Italian food, and not to expensive
They serve some of the best food!
Simply and lovingly prepared.
The servers really know how to look after their diners.
Fabulous food and a great location! This is the definition of a neighborhood gem. Also, a great place for a business lunch.
Service was awful. Extremely understaffed. Food was below average.
Too noisy, even after the place emptied out and was half full. Would only go again to sit outside
Another good experience. Service was a bit slow tonight but food always is amazing.
Restaurant has no ac we sweet through dinner
We brought our teens to NYC for their birthdays and had an amazing dinner at Max! The staff was lovely and warm, the food was to die for and it’s in the most charming space! It will definitely go in my list of favorites!
Inside was too noisy with big groups and unfortunately there was so much construction going on outside it was hard to talk which was not the restaurant's fault.
Very nice neighborhood Italian restaurant with an abundant offering of appetizers and entrees
Staff are so friendly and welcoming, the pasta is exceptional! Always a delicious and delightful evening at Max
Simply amazing! Everything is great!
Service was charming but food was disappointing. Only so so.
The new space is not as nice and cozy as the old one. It just doesn’t feel the same and while the food was good the experience wasn’t special in any way. So not sure I’d go back given the options in the city for really great Italian. The lasagna was really good but the fennel salad was nothing like I remembered it. Not nearly as good.
A gem in Tribeca. Despite there being a ton of Italian restaurants in NYC, it's hard to find really good Italian. Max's is REALLY good Italian. Delicious food, great ambiance, lovely service. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent food and friendly staff
The food, staff, ambiance was fabulous!!! Highly recommend!!!
Always a wonderful and delicious meal. The chicken Milanese is the best!
My husband and I dined outside. We split an arugula salad and a pasta dish and both were absolutely delicious. We would love to return next time we're in NYC.
Great food, nice atmosphere. We were a party of 8 and they rushed us through dinner a bit due to "another large party coming in after us". Otherwise a nice place for Italian food in Tribeca!
Lovely family owned and operated neighborhood Italian restaurant with amazing food. Consistently good food and attentive service. Outdoor seating as well as a full bar!
Max has the best lasagne I have ever had in my life!
Absolutely delicious food! Will 100% be back (hopefully a lot!)
Just a fun dinner with friends! Pasta ( with clams) was delicious. So was the rose!
Was running late and wanted to add 2 people. Their response: “we’ll make it work!” Felt like you were eating with family. Great Italian comfort food. Limited bar and wine list but fine. Great neighborhood vibe with friendly staff. Check it out!
Small unpretentious Italian place in Tribeca - we loved it
