Max Gill and Grill Ratings and Reviews
The food was great, we got the #0% off deal, so thqat was awesome. The only thing was that that we could only go around 9:00pm and by that time they were out ofe everything we wanted to see like the lobster. Other than that the service was great. I'm planning on going again soon. I love the fresh seafood that they have. OMG. It was so good and fresh.
Although this has been one of our favorite places, service on this visit was pretty bad. Rarely did we see our waitress, but at least the bus person would swing by and attend to our needs. Example, the waitress served our salad and left without asking if we needed anything. I couldn't get it out soon enough to ask for SILVERWARE. After 5 minutes, I went to the front and picked up a couple of sets. Not sure if I want to go back for a while.
I love this restaurant, but the crab night was disappointing.
Not their fault but the amount of king crab you get in a pound was surprisly disappointing. Given that they were serving king crab the service amenities weren't great - no naps to wipe off your hands and the table wasn't cleaned after the dishes were removed. I'll buy my crab at the grocery and have it at home the next time.
Fantastic meal. Baja shrimp cocktail, I had Cioppino that was amazing (skip the linguini, the seafood, broth and bread are MORE than enough). My date had the ahi tuna burger & loved it as well. Great Blueberry/Acai Mojito as well. Great service too. An all-around great experience.
I've been to Max Gill and Grill several times prior to this. This pst visit was disappointing. My father had a shrimp caeser salad taht was tiny, even though he had ordered the larger sized one, and it was presented on a bed of some sort of red leaf lettuce, not Romaine.
The service was very slow, and the waiter was very lukewarm in his personality. My parents had never been there before, but they will not return.
Max's is one of the best restaurants on the Gaylord street strip near Washington Park. The parmesian truffle fries are amazing and cheap during happy hour. The wine list is extense and priced moderately outside of happy hour, but the glass rates are standard for the area. The raw bar always has a great variety of oysters and shrimp, I typically go for the Chesapeak Bay oysters but it's not uncommon for them to feature 4-5 different types. The bloody Mary bar for brunch is awesome as well with a great set of mixers. If your in the area, stop by and try this place for sure. I recommend surf and turf or the lobster pasta, either are amazing.
Food was excellent, but very overpriced for the extremely small portions. The restaurant was noisy and our menus looked as if they had never been cleaned and had food and grime caked on them. We had to go hunt down our own drink refills - we only saw our waiter long enough to take our order and bring the bill.
