Laural was an excellent server. She made our dining experience
We love our waiter Joseph. He makes dining at Max Gill and Grill special.
Our first time trying Max Gill and Grill. What a wonderful experience. We love seafood and when we lived in MA we had so many good options. I only wish you were closer to our house in Black Hawk!
The food was clearly from a freezer.. the ceviche was the most bland ceviche I’ve ever tasted...the lobster roll tasted only of mayonnaise. The seasonal veggies were once frozen.. anyone could tell. Very disappointing
Food was great. Magician was ok, not quite on a kid level and somewhat ordinary for adults.
Overall a great value for a neighborhood seafood restaurant. Great wine selection and the service is excellent.
Great service great food and cool ambiance!
The service was pretty good, the food was good with the exception of the calamari which was the toughest I've ever had. Surprising considering it's a seafood restaurant. They brought the wrong soup for my wife but had no problem making it right. We liked the ambiance, however some people at the nearby bar were obnoxious and loud. I got the impression that's not a rare occurrence. All in all it was good but too expensive for what you get in our opinion.
the three of us enjoyed the seafood options we each selected. Our waiter was outstanding!
This is a great 'neighborhood' place - food is excellent, service great, and its a fun and despite ample tables a cozy place to visit. Prices are good, plenty of options.
The restaurant appeals to a wide range of ages. There were people in their twenties celebrating as well as retired folks and even some well behaved children. The food and service were great and the place had a good vibe. We will be back!
I chose MGG due to a recommendation I received from a friend and must admit I was a bit disappointed. I arrived about 30 minutes before our office staff was supposed to be there so that I could check out the space and assure everything was set up. As time got closer to everyone's arrival time, I became nervous about the lack of valet services as promised on the web site. By 5:15 pm, when everyone began to arrive, still no sign of the valet. I was aware that parking in front of and around the restaurant is less than plentiful, which is why the valet promise was of importance to our staff. That being said, everyone found parking wherever they could and we placed an order for drinks. Our waitress was friendly and prompt, but there was a pretty long delay on the beverages and later, our food. I had ordered wine, as did our Agency Manager and others, which was served in a not-so-clean glass...yuk. I would like to give MGG another try, but if this is the usual, maybe not. Was it just an off night or is this the norm on a Tuesday afternoon? What do you suggest?
Our new 'go to" place. Love this place so very much. Food outstanding. Best service ever! So much fun. Go here if you get a chance, you will not be sorry. Seafood so yummy. Owner really cool guy. Thanks for the best time we have ever had!
We enjoy the atmosphere and food. This menu seems smaller than previous experience so it felt like there weren't as many choices. Great patio!
Great neighborhood restaurant and bar . Wish I lived within walking distance!
They were out of lobster rolls.
Food is always great!
We had excellent service and food covering a wide range of cravings. All excellent and great value. The only spoiler was our booth’s location near the front door (gusts of cold air from the ebb & flow of guests) plus noisy & uncontrolled children at the next table. Next time we’ll eat later.
This is a GREAT place! Great food, great employees, fantastic owners and convenient location. Always a great experience!!
The service was great.. Food was great. Love the nautical decorations and friendly atmosphere. Dont like stiffy and quiet..from out of town.. Would def go back!!
Your senses are greeted with the smell of fresh seafood as soon as you enter this quaint little establishment in Wash Park. We arrived soon after 6 pm and we were seated at a cozy table by the fireplace and quickly greeted by "Laurel", our knowledgeable and friendly waitress. We started with some "Awesome crab cakes" and a martini, both of which were in time for their Happy Hour pricing. Doris ordered the Shrimp + Seafood Linguine and I had the Scallops with S.W. Cream Corn & Brussel Ragout w/ a side of Garlic Bread. Both meals were absolutely outstanding! My Scallops which are easily over cooked, were cooked to perfection. And the Shrimp, that is usually rubbery, tasted almost like they just came off the boat.
We were so impressed, that we cancelled our reservations at Ocean Prime next week to come back here and dine again! Dress is casual, and some TV's scatter about, but the noise level was comfortable. We highly recommend this Seafood restaurant over the others we've been to, such as Jax & Blue Island Oyster Bar.

Joseph was fantastic and attentive! ALL food was amazingly fresh and cooked to perfection. Only thing I can say as far a constructive criticism was that the sirloin steak was a bit undersalted for our taste but still cooked to perfection. Having been to "steak houses" before and having the meat under or overcooked it was incredible to have a perfectly cooked medium rare steak. All other food, including dessert was impeccable. We are going back next week and can't wait! Love that Denver Restaurant Week allowed us to find this Denver gem!
Had a chance to try their DRW menu and it was worthwhile. Enjoyed dinner on a snowy Saturday night.
The food was very good. I was pleased with the selection for restaurant week. I would go back for sure.
Came here for Denver Restaurant Week. Our group ordered an assortment of things and loved everything we got! Have never been and will definitely be back. Also, our server was great.
We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our dinner. The waitress brought us more water even after we finished our meals, which I always appreciate. :)
I went during restaurant week so it was very busy and loud. Food was wonderful! The best max and cheese I have ever tasted. I will ne returning.
Great food and fabulous service. Ladies at the hostess stand, bartender and server were all awesome!! Happened to be there on a Thursday so we were treated to the delicious smell or ribs (on special) and happy hour all night 😁
Laurel was extremely friendly and efficient! Salmon was delicious and enjoyed the crab cakes, grilled bread and chocolate cake too.
This was for Denver restaurant week, so take the value rating with a grain of salt. It’s a nice setting with plenty of parking on a Tuesday evening, we sat on the patio area which is currently closed up for winter, but was very comfortably warm. Our service was good & quite fast. We will be back.
Food and ambiance was excellent/ waitress was very helpful
We were seated promptly and the service was excellent from then on. My order was from the Denver Restaurant Week Menu with grilled oysters with garlic butter appetizer (could have made a meal out of them) and the strip steak main course. All very tasty. I would be happy to return.
We went before a concert and were able to try their Denver week specials as well as the Tuesday special on wine. Fabulous value, tasty food especially crab cakes, salmon and key lime pie. Service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.
We tried the restaurant during Restaurant Week. Food was good and a good value. Service could have been a little better, she didn’t come around for additional drinks even though it was not busy. We will come back in the spring/summer for outdoor patio.
Great wait staff!
Everything was great and the staff cared including the 2 owners Kevin and Dan
Server and food
We had the best experience during Denver Restaurant Week! Our server, Laurel, was seriously the best ever. The Mac and cheese with shrimp was amazing and I haven’t found a key lime pie that actually tastes like Key Lime pie straight out of Florida since being in Florida. I’m happy and full!
Outstanding food and service. A favorite restaurant.
We went for restaurant week recently (what a bargain) but my boyfriend and I go pretty regularly! He’s a seafood lover and I’m more of a steak/chicken fan so we can both go together and leave happy! Their alcohol selection is very reasonably price and their food is all very flavorful and great portions! Service is very friendly! When it’s nice out they have a cute outside patio and then a bar in the with swings! Highly recommend!
