Great food and service! Molly did an amazing job will be back.
As always good food,great service
So let’s bottom line this - our experience was fabulous. But there’s a story here that needs to be told. We dined at Max Fish in January with friends for my husbands birthday and while the food is always great, our service was horrendous. In a review I indicated as such, and was surprised to hear within a couple of days from the managing director of Max Fish who apologized for our bad experience and asked for us to give them another chance to change the guest experience. Saturday evening, our server Brian was exceptional, food fantastic and our overall experience remarkable. Max Fish may be expensive, but worth every cent for the freshness of the seafood and the culinary skills of the chef. We will be back.
I think Max Fish is my favorite restaurant. We come from the other side of the river to dine here, and it's worth the ride. I often meet a friend for lunch, and the restaurant is pleasantly busy. The fish is as fresh as it gets, and the chef's creative platings keep it interesting. I almost always order from the specials, but it's hard to go wrong with any choice. Last weekend our family of four, including our two grown sons, had dinner at Max Fish to celebrate my birthday. It was perfect! Thanks to a creative culinary team and a cheerful waitstaff for a wonderful evening out.
Sat at bar for a drink. Those guys are good and on the ball. Once we were seated took too long to take our order. We weren't ready when first asked, but took too long to come back. The main course was delayed for some reason. We were getting antsy. I had one of the fish specials. Flounder I think. It was overcooked. Fingerling potatoes were burned and tasteless. Dessert was good. Blueberry pie special. I took a business client. Wished I had gone next door to Max Amore.
The food options for someone with Celiac are really great and truly gluten free! The restaurant is beautiful and food delicious! Definitely make a reservation!
Brian was a phenomenal waiter. Attentive, pleasant & made excellent recommendations.
Shrimp cocktail was yum
Had the Tuscan wine —-delish
Mac and cheese was MEH!!
Fish and chips about par
Monkfish looked good
Wonderful menu and service
The food is outstanding as always, thank you. I would of liked our server to be a little more friendly. She did not even say anything about the specials like the other servers do. Anyway our meals were delicious and we plan on coming back often.
PS. Gets very loud
Relaxing, enjoyable dinner.
Have always enjoyed dinner here and now brunch was awesome too. Bloody Mary bar with lots of additions, great mimosas and unique eggs Benedict.
The staff is most courteous and ready to accommodate special requests.
Terrific Brunch for a Worthy Cause - Autism Awareness. We often eat at Max Fish but we went to the Sunday Brunch because the Max Group was donating a portion of its Sunday income to Autism Awareness. We were delighted with our make them yourself Bloody Marys, the excellent crabcake Benedict and salmon frittata. The service as usual was great and the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable. We highly recommend this brunch at any time and especially when it can help others.
Love that bouillabaisse! Next time will ask for a little more broth. Girlfriend loved it as well and three fish appetizer was terrific.
Awesome seafood and accompanying food. Wonderful service. I would give it a 10!
Food was really great and the service was fantastic! Gluten free menu had a lot of choices and is truly gluten free-separate cooking area.
My wife and I had dinner for our 16th wedding anniversary. We were dressed casusl, but nice. We had a reservation weeks ahead of time. When we were seated, I was surprised that we were given a table right next to the happy hour crowd. I remember Max Fish having a nicer dining area. It was on the other side. I noticed they sat us in their very casual area. The folks around us in sneakers, worn jeans and hooded sweatshirts. We were fine. I just felt profiled and sat here purposely.
So if you book Max Fish, and you want the dining room, you should ask. Just a warning. Overall, fantastic service and good food.
The service was tardy and rushed. The food was mediocre. We have been fans in the past and are very disappointed by our most recent visit.
The only thing fishy about this place is the food. And be glad it is because it is excellent. Meal was exceptional, service warm and friendly with a local, community vibe. Love it!
Food was good, nothing really special. Service was very good. Reminded me of the Bonefish grill, was a little disappointed with the filet mignon. Also to feature fish as your speaciality, it was disappointing to have the fish and chips. That was almost on par with long John silvers, I would've thought the fish would be more fresh with fresh beer batter coating. Would I go back, not so sure. Maybe if I went with someone who loves to eat average food but with a higher price.
Good meal...scallops were fresh..crab cake better than most, linguini with white clam sauce quite good
We had a wonderful meal. The food was great and our server was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating.
We booked a reservation for Easter Brunch. It was amazing! We had a beautiful waitress who handled our shellfish allergy like a pro! The food was amazing and so filling! My family was so impressed! I can’t wait to come back to this wonderful restaurant!
- side note- our waitress was so awesome! I was very sick due to being pregnant, and she took time to relate to me. She understood my needs, and gave me some great words of wisdom. She remained professional, warm, and caring!
I can’t say enough about our experience!
Great love Max
Service and ambiance are the stars here. I visited on a busy Saturday evening and we had salad and raw seafood courses, with entrees trailing behind by 30 minutes, even though the restaurant had cleared out substantially by then. Two of our shrimp entrees arrived over-cooked and management could not have been more accommodating or congenial. The quality of seafood is excellent, although the flavors and preparations missed the mark and dishes did not feel balanced.
Lunch with daughter for Easter. Very accommodating wait staff and kitchen.
Waiter was disengaging, bland and inflexible. Very discouraged at the service which normally is very good.
The food was outstanding. I had a fish entree which was one of the specials, and it was delicious. Creative use of kim chi and miso glaze. the salmon was delicious, and the crab cake with aioli was very good. We always get that as an appetizer when we visit. The service was excellent.
We have been here many times, and it always is busy. The noise level is a little loud, but people are having a great time!
Our server was awesome and attentive and very friendly. My date ate oysters for the first tine and she is now a disciple. Thank you
I’ve dined at Max Fish many times and this was the best meal ever. Thank you for a great dining experience.
Great food, great atmosphere
We took advantage of their special St Patrick's Day menu: Guinness, artic char, corned beef, etc. Not extensive, but delicious.
We were with friends celebrating a real estate closing. Our server, Nicki B, was fantastic. She was friendly, very knowledgeable about the food, attentive without being intrusive. She contributed to a wonderful evening of great food and wine. This is my second time at Max Fish and it certainly won’t be the last. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Nice place, but too pricey for small portions. Great taste however.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Max Fish on March 15th. My husband had the Tuna and loved the dish although, he didn’t care for the dried seaweed on top. Without the seaweed, the dish was perfect! I had the fresh Salmon and it was really fresh and delicious! I asked for sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes to accompany my fish which made my dinner perfect as well. Our server was attentive and very customer oriented and made our occasion very special.
I met with friends for Bruch everything was awesome, food, service and company .
Lets start by saying the hostess and waitor were extremely courteous and the food was delicious. The restaurant is bustling so not a place to go if you want a romantic dinner or have meaningful, deep conversation. Much more of a social honest atmosphere. My disappointment was the service. Had to continuously ask for things, bread never offered, salt and pepper because there was none on the table, refills on water. No one came to the table proactively to ask or check on us. Also, i made a reservation in advance and we were in the center of the room, next to a pillar. Probably one of the worst tables in the restaurant. Not what i expected from a high end restaurant, i probably will make other choices in the future.
Scallops were outstanding as was the butternut squash risotto
Mussels fra diablo, though no longer on the menu, was made specially for my husband. It's an outstanding dish!! All in all, a delicious meal served in cosy and warm surroundings!
I can’t say enough about Max Fish. We went for a birthday with a group that contained 3 children (including a toddler) and we all enjoyed the meal and the staff was awesome. We are still talking about the quality and the taste. A++.
