Enjoyable atmosphere, and just good food. Had the grilled octopus, and it was very good. Anytime we want good seafood, we can count on Max’s.
Server was excellent, food was good and ambiance was excellent and it was quiet.
Good experience food was good, our waiter was very good,
Lively crowd. Food was fantastic, cooked to perfection. Service was excellent.
Always a great experience. Treat all customers like their number one.
Food cooked as requested especially if dietary issues. Highly recommend!
I would recommend it however anyone who is not a real big seafood appreciator may want to get a burger the other alternative the Parmesan encrusted chicken was pretty bland in and tasteless. my husband and son thoroughly enjoyed their meals chowder and lobster was great the lobster Mac Was fabulous
Food and service is always outstanding which is the reason we love Max Fish.
My friend was even accommodated with her strict diet.
Our server was very good.
We dine here every couple of months. Max Fish is always a great option for the variety of seafood on the menu. We both enjoyed a striped bass special. Service was very attentive.
Bar seating option is NOT bar area aka Happy Hour Eligible
Was seated & waiting for 14 minutes with no service
Only table occupied- it was 5 pm
Shame on young hostess for not addressing this
Once Molly saved us -would rate service excellent
The food & ambiance were adequate BUT thought the Food was pricey.
Thought the portions were kind of skimpy (Gourmet) I guess??
Always a favorite place...reiiable in every way. Great fresh fish options, lovely place, wonderful service..always impeccable. Love that there is a Gluten free menu too.
This is one of our favorite places to go because the food is just consistently excellent across-the-board. We each ordered something different: cod for one, Arctic char for another, steelhead trout for me. All were cooked to exactly the degree of doneness each of us requested, and we appreciated the flexibility our waiter gave to us with respect to side dishes. For appetizers, the shrimp cocktail seems price-y, but the size of the shrimp is impressive, and the Caesar salads are always perfectly done here, right down to the croutons. Eating here is never cheap, of course, but the presentation and quality are always spot-on, and we see consistently excellent service from one visit to the next. One last thing: we frequently come here with a fourth person who needs to be both gluten-free and dairy-free at the same time. Although this person didn't happen to be with us on this night, it's worth mentioning that Max Fish handles food allergies expertly -- so much so that this is one of our favorite go-to spots when the fourth person joins us for dinner. Another great meal, thanks so much!
Incredible food & wait staff was attentive. getting food was slow, but not unbearable.
Friends bday celebration. Love Max Fish. Awesome time.
Amazing food and staff like always!!!! One of my favorite spots to Dine!!!
I would recommend Max Fish with the caveat that my experience as very hit and miss. The restaurant itself is nice. I was there on a Thursday night for dinner. Ate in the bar and had a comfortable table (not crowded by other tables) and noise level was low for a bar (i.e., there was activity but it wasn't overbearing). Our waitress was helpful and pleasant. Wine selection is very good. Crab cake appetizer was great but not enough sauce on the plate (little drizzle). Then the meals came. Unfortunately, I chose the cod a la plancha and it was bland and very one-note. There were no real textural elements so the entree ate soft and mushy -- and it was room temperture vs. hot. Dessert was ok -- nothing to write home about. So, the evening was hit and miss. So good elements, some bad (it's just unfortunate that the entree was the low point).
We had a reservation on March 6th. Food was good. Expensive but good. The waitress was horrible. I wish I got her name, but we never felt so rushed before. She didn’t smile, she kind of argued w us when we asked to change something w a meal and was constantly hovering an rushing us. I left her a very good tip on a $137 check and I should not have. Will not come back unfortunately. I wish I had her name but the check amount and 6:15 reservation and my name should be enough to figure out who she is.
The Korean Paella was awsum the sauce that came with the octopus app was overwhelming. The grilled octopus app st max oyster is much better
fantastic spot, especially for great, fresh and perfectly prepared seafood. Great service and very nice, upscale ambiance.
This place Truly an exceptional fine dining location I was very please with not just the freshness of the food but by the elegance in the plating and a very flavorful food I had the pleasure of meeting the chef text to Kimberly the waitress which by the way was amazing I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants a Great experience It was actually my first time here but obviously not the last thanks again guys specially in the creator of this wonderful place...
We started with happy hour drinks and appetizers and then went into the dinning room for dinner and the entire experience for our anniversary was perfect.
I went with my husband and another couple. We had 7:15 reservation and were seated right around then. We didn’t leave until around 10:00pm because of the extremely slow service. We were not lingering having drinks. We were there that long strictly because of the service. Almost 3 hours for a two course dinner is way too long. It took us forever to get our drinks (water and our bar drinks) throughout the entire meal. We had to ask multiple times. A woman, who I think was the manager, came over before our dinner meals came out to apologize for the delay and asked if we wanted anything. At that point we just wanted our dinner. Nothing was taken off of our bill and that was in poor taste, in our opinion. Obviously she knew we had waited an excessive amount of time. Further, one of us asked some questions about a meal before ordering it (was the seafood out of the shells) and was told it was when in fact it wasn’t. He would not have ordered it if he knew he had to take out of shells. Finally, my husband’s meal was not what he ordered. He didn’t complain or send it back because we had waited so long.
We frequent Max’s so we’re really disappointed by this experience. It is usually one of our go to restaurants and we eat out at least once a week. We may hesitate to go there the next time we eat out because this experience was sub par to say the least. It was not the usual experience we have.
We love Max Fish! This is our go to restaurant for a great meal.
We’ve been to max fish a few times. For a date night and we’ve taken our 3 kids. Kid friendly, classy restaurant with great food choices for all ages! Comfortable setting and great waitstaff! Looking forward to our next visit!
One word comes to mind when we dine at MaxFish:consistency!
The food and service are consistently great.
You can always count on Brian greeting patrons or serving something.
The filet mignon is better the NYC Steakhouses.
The fish entree’s are always new and inviting!
See you soon
Went on national clam chowder day! Great soup and bowls for only $4! Also it was a Monday so there was $1 oysters
Overpriced, mediocre service, and food quality below average.
Unbelievable restaurant and staff...the best dining experience available. Went for brunch, we have numerous times, a must try!
Amazing meal and dessert!
My friend was an Orthodox Jew and had hoped for kosher cooking preparation. I had never heard of such a thing, but he would love to know you could provide that.
it is not the place to go for a quiet evening! Very loud and we even had an early slot. Great food......our waitress Rachel was "on it". We were never without water or drinks.
We had 6 people in our group. 2 of them had never been to any of the Max’s.
We always have had excellent service but this time was different. We were seated in a tight corner. Had to wait for even anyone to come to the table to introduce themselves.
The drinks took a bit to come to us and we had to ask about the specials.
When we did receive food. The waiter reached over people to serve ones. Very awkward.
The food was very good except for my friends soup which was cold.
Overall we had a nice night though.
Everything was wonderful again tonight. The food, the wine, the dessert, and the service from Kimberly were top notch. Thanks for a great night & we will see you again soon.
We had a 4:30 reservation and arrived 10 minutes early. We were told we had to wait until our reservation time to be seated. We stood at the front door for 10 minutes with my 83 year old mother and then we were seated in an empty room.
Our waitress was very nice and upbeat. Food was fantastic. Overall great night.
Went with another couple. Had an amazing time. Food was great. Service was great!
The food and service were outstanding. We were seated on time.
Everything was great. My only issue was that the waitress spoke very very quickly and at times we needed to ask her to back up and slow down. The food and wine were terrific. The setting was quiet yet vibrant. The chef was flexible with requests for carb / other substitutes. I will be back.
The food was very good. We got seated on time. I really liked the ambiance. Very classy restaurant. I would definitely visit again.
