Our waitress virtually neglected us after taking our order. Someone else delivered the food, but when I called over the manager, she was WONDERFUL, she rolled up her sleeves and pitched in to make everything right! Ever grateful.

Great food, waiter wasn't every attentive to us as he was to the other guests. Another waitress had to step in twice as she noticed this as well. But overall it is a very nice restaurant good sized portions

Restaurant was clean and very well organized. Service was very good. Food was not delicious at all. We did not want to waste our time on deserts since the lobster bisque, calamari and our entree’s were lacking in flavor. Their rolls even seemed to be not tasty.

There was a very loud bar crowd when we walked in the restaurant but our partygoers 4 was seated in a more remote area where noise was not a problem and we could enjoy quiet conversation. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with menu choices. Only one member of our party was disappointed in his entree which he felt was undercooked ( compared to this same entree he had enjoyed during a previous meal at this restaurant)

Excellent service and food was great. Hostess called me to confirm my reservation. She was very welcoming. Showed us to our table exactly at 5:15pm- the reservation time. Waiter explained all of the specials and was patient and caring. I have already recommended Max Fish to friends. Thank you for a special evening.

The only problem we had was where we were seated. It was right next to the vent and hot air was blowing directly at us the whole night and even my wife and my friends wife who are usually cold complained that it was like a sauna. Even the table next to us complained once they were sat. Otherwise excellent food and service.

Service and atmosphere at Max Fish is always amazing! Food is hit or miss. Some dishes were perfect and interesting like the cookie dough brownie topped with popcorn. Other dishes are underwhelming, like the undercooked risotto. Overall, it’s always nice to dine here.

I do not live in the Hartford area, but due to recent travel have been frequenting the city quite often. I have been to all of the Max's restaurants and I can say that the service that we received at Max's Fish House was outstanding. To be clear, service at all Max's venues have been great, but this was truly amazing. I do not leave reviews usually, but our server was knowledgeable, pleasant and very accommodating. The food, as expected was also stellar. I would definitely return.

I was on my way home from a long day of working. Max Fish has become my main and favorite restaurant in the area. The bar manager is very friendly and remembers your favorite drink. He takes the time to stop his extremely busy & demanding job for a moment to see how your doing and what’s going on in your life! That goes a long way and there unfortunately is a scarcity of this wonderful old fashion practice!! Wonderful establishment with an even better staff!! A+

I have never had a bad meal here. The food is outstanding. I did order a side of beans with my meal. They brought them at least 25 minutes before my entree. My intention was to eat them with my entree since my meal did not come with anything. Needless to say they were stone cold by the time my entree arrived. Other than that no complaints...

I Foist service was excellent. We went early enough to get a booth. Wait staff was exceptional. Calamari was the bomb. Husband had chowder - it was t traditional chowder, I might pass on that next time. Sea scallops were the biggest most tender - ever. 2 cocktails, 2 glass of wine, 2 apps, 2 dinners + extra scallops + dessert = $150. I thought that was reasonable considering what we ate....

Perfect! Crab cake appetizer to start was 90% chunk crab and filet combo with stuffed lobster tail is best in greater Hartford. Try the sundae for desert it reminded me of a bananas foster in New Orleans ... very friendly and attentive staff ... “The” Choice for Dinner in Glastonbury!

We went to MaxFish to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. I had looked forward to this dinner for weeks. We started with the lobster bisque and clam chowder. Both were lovely. Unfortunately that Was the highlight of the meal. I ordered scallops which came with rice and green beans. The scallops were extremely overcooked and tough. The green beans were overcooked and mushy. My husband ordered the surf and turf. He said the short ribs were good but his shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. I also had a glass of sparkling wine and it was warm, like bottle wasn’t properly chilled. I would have said something but we hardly saw our waitress and I didn’t see a manager.

I was taken to Max Fish for my first time on Valentine’s Day, while it was a very busy night, the staff accommodated us well. Food was excellent and the service was stellar! I will definitely be dining again!

Very good seafood at a reasonable price. Had the lobster pan roast and bisque. My partner had the fillet. Atmosphere and soundtrack couldn’t really decide what it was. The combination of music was bizarre for an upscale restaurant. Would expect something less kiddish and more refined. Went from classic rock to pop hits of the 90s to hip hop and club music. Maybe jazz? Table layout doesn’t make things very intimate but with limited space it’s to be expected. Overall a good experience just might need to find a new mix CD to put on.

We went in Valentines Day to celebrate not only the holiday but also our 10 year wedding Anniversary. I had mentioned on here it was our anniversary and the staff starting at the hostess to our server acknowledged it. Great service!!! Max’s never disappoints! We loved our food. We didn’t even feel rushed. I will keep coming back!

I had made a reservation well in advance of Valentine's Day. I didn't request a booth, though,, I guess should have. Didn't know that was an option on this web-site. Was told a booth was not available for us, was told it could not be guaranteed even if we had. When we requested a booth, we were told there were booths open but they were reserved for people who were there yet. So, apparently people who weren't there were guaranteed a booth? Confusing: we could've reserved a booth but wouldn't be guaranteed it. But if we were there and booths were open, we couldn't have one because they were guaranteed to people who weren't there?

Dear Mark, with over 220 reservations totaling over 500 guests on valentines day & only having 9 booths that fit 4 guests we realize we cannot accommodate every guest that requests a booth. For those that do request a booth when they make a reservation we do our best to accommodate those guests requests, but never guarantee it knowing we only have 9 booths. I'm sorry the location of your table put a damper on the evening. When we spoke everyone at the table said they enjoyed the food. Thank You

The menu is good. Good selection of fish. Stuffed lobster seems too butter rich... Fairly standard. Barrata arugula salad very nice. The grilled octopus very tender and tasty. Cappuccino Gelato was okay. Waitstaff was excellent [my memory for names is terrible]. Both young women very professional and pleasant; they made appropriate suggestions for wine and perfectly attentive. The restaurant was full but conversation friendly. Also, a very busy valentine's crowd handled extremely well by the front desk.

The food and service were both excellent. The only complaint would be that where we were seated the tables were awfully close together so it was the least amount of privacy I can remember especially for an intimate setting and it was on Valentine’s Day
