Went for my daughter's birthday, two of the dishes (both pasta) were not hot when they arrived. My son was starving so ate his lukewarm (his fault for not returning) but my husband had to have his heated up. My dish was delicious, scallops w/spinach & polenta.
Service was good, not outstanding. Had to ask for bread.
Great time, great food.
Regularly go to this restaurant for good food and service, nice atmosphere, and pricing consistent with the quality of the food/service. Veal tenderloin, scallops, Max a Penne, and bolognese were the main selections-- all excellent-- as were the salad and dessert.
I like the extras provided; olives, virgin olive oil and focaccia bread.
Waitress seemed like she hated her job. Argued with everything we said. Max penne comes out different every time it’s ordered
Food was not as good as previous visits... one of the meals was cold. Server was very reluctant to separate checks, into three and ultimately didn’t do it...
My boyfriend and I ate here for dinner one night and everything was great!! The bread with roasted garlic and tomato oil was really good as a start. We had meatballs for an appetizer, which were delicious, though we did think the dish could have used a little more sauce. For drinks, he had the Manhattan 140 and I tried the cats meow. Both were good, but I felt like my drink could have had a twinge of something else like dash of soda or a bit more of an orange flavor. My boyfriend got the chicken parm and I had the linguini e prosciutto. Both were excellent and did not disappoint. For dessert we had the creme brûlée which was also very very good. I would certainly come here again, and will recommend this restaurant to others!
Cozy intimate moment. Loved it
Very disappointing. I was first served soup that was barely warm, I had to send back. My lunch, Salmon served over arugula and grains was so salty I could barely eat it. The waitress was never available, probably because she was helping with a large party. Therefore, she never stopped by to ask about our lunch. I ate what was edible and left the "very salty" remaining salad. Considering it was 2:00,the lunch rush was long past and we deserved better service. Frankly, I believe the Max Group restaurants have really declined in quality of both Food and Service. Sad !
Absolutely perfect and just what we hoped for.
food was delicious, and our server Chris was the best!
Very good service. Authentic Italian food like Mama used to make!
Dinner was wonderful as usual. We love all f the Max’s restaurants!
Max Amore is one of our favorite restaurants. We enjoy the pizzas, salads, and pasta dishes. The service is attentive and friendly. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience.
Of course it being the Saturday after Valentine’s Day, the restaurant was very busy. We just happened to notice that the service seemed a bit rushed and was not our usual experience there. At one point dishes went crashing to the ground and it seemed as though the waiters and waitresses were banging into each other. Next time, we will stay in doors around Valentine’s Day.
Always great service and great food...Everything was just perfect
One of our favorite restaurants to frequent. Didn’t have the best service on this date though. Food was great, as usual.
Max's restaurants are always well run. The food is good.. The service is attentive. My lunch experience was fine. Nothing great but nothing wrong.
Pricey but excellent food & service. Beautiful indoor setting but it's in a strip mall.
Delicious meals as always! Great service!! Friendly and professional! Love the specials!
We have loved Max Amore for 30 years! The last two times we visited we were disappointed in service, myself and my daughter'sfood was cold. Family dinner was not as expected. Wanted to try again for brunch. Service was so horrible. Food cold again. We ae looking for a replacement of an old friend. Realy sad about it.
The service was good, my wife ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was burnt and she and she couldn’t eat it. I expected more from a Max restaurant. I ran a restaurant for many years and would not have served that dish. I will not go back there
The food was exquisite. The appetizers? Tasty and playful little dishes. The specials? Elite choices. I thoroughly enjoyed the entrée. It was simply delightful. I must say, that the best part of the night, was the wine. What a vintage. Where they get their vines from, I cannot say, but it was truly a kiss on the tongue of the gods. The service is world class, as the who staff is attentive to the needs of their patrons. I will be back, you can bet your last dollar on that. A prime combination of yummy and fresh ingredients makes their cuisine second to none. Anyone who disputes that is lying to themselves and to the American people. My meal was easily the best.
The food was outstanding and so was the service !!! Sauces can be made to order !!! ( smooth /chunky) and the atmosphere was perfect ! Wasn’t too quiet or too loud . Seemed like lots of families having a good time together . We were so impressed with the dinner and the cannolis were fantastic for dessert ! The only thing that I wish was different was that the table they gave us for my husband and I was very small . Seemed very cluttered and they had to keep making room for wine or dinner . Other then that it was perfect ! We will absolutely be back !
Service was slow but we were not in a hurry to go anywhere. My husbands dinner- shrimp scampi was flavorful and delicious. Mine - sea scallops with butternut squash risotto which was lacking in flavor and although I asked for the scallops cooked through they arrived seared and room temperature. This is a favorite restaurant of ours and usually have delicious food and attentive servers. This night was off but we will be back!
Always a great meal. Always asked to go with friends from around the world who come in to CT.
Staff went out of their way to accomodate our requests, PLUS unrequested extra dessert for adult celebrating birthday; excellent food other than soup not very hot (was quite tasty though); one fish meal undercooked but patron did not request to have it cooked well done. Go to Max Amore often and at lunch (we had 1PM seating) was very quiet, unlike dinner time when full house leads to high noise level
Our waitress, Jennifer, was sweetly attentive. The bartender, Anthony, makes a world-class Stoli martini. The food was amazing. (Real risotto, cooked perfectly!) And the flourless chocolate cake? Fuggedaboudit. We had a wonderful celebration of my birthday.
The service was great and prompt. The food was amazing definitely worth the price. I'll definitely be going back.
Good service and food. Kind of noisy, but most restaurants are these days.
Always a great experience at Max A'more. There are good options for vegetarians including pasta and salads.
Our server was phenomenal. She was very attentive. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner. Definitely returning to MaxAmore
I love max amore...its just that simple..great food ...good price...yum
I think Max Amore is one of my favorite restaurants. I dream about the polenta croutons in the salad and roasted garlic to spread over fresh bread. The food is outstanding and the service is always excellent!
Price and quality did nog match. I ordered veal which was highly salted. I expect restaurant veal to be very tender which this was not. It was more like a beef cutlet
We had a wonderful meal. It was my birthday and I was happy to be able to choose from an entire menu of gluten free options.
Always excellent. Good for lunch or dinner. Easy parking.
Had a nice lunch there with my husband. Food is always excellent!
Excellent as always! We dined with friends who also love this place. The burrata special was superb and I liked the Barbarossa wine special too. As always, Teddy’s for the meal. The other three loved their meals as well. Been here probably 25 times and don’t see that ever ending! Give it a try, you won’t regret it!!!
Food and service was excellent! Can’t wait to come back.
