Overall the experience was good with the exception of the pace of the service. We felt somewhat rushed. and our entrees were served before we had finished our salad course. The pasta dishes were outstanding.
The half price wine on Thursdays is a real deal and worth going here alone.
Birthday - consistently great food
We made a return visit for dinner Friday night to Max A Mia. We were seated inside, but the evening was warm enough for those desiring to sit outside under the covering awning for a first outside seasonal dining. We were greeted by very friendly waitress and brought beverages, then bread with delicious roasted garlic bulb and marinara sauce, while we waited for our appetizers. Our entrees were excellent, salmon and steaks, which were more than ample and took home as leftovers. My brother-in-law’s coconut cake was a large slab piece that he took home as well. It was a very enjoyable evening.
Fantastic food and perfect location for a casual dinner meeting.
Took my niece out for her 21st birthday. When making my reservation thru open table under “special instructions or requests” I mentioned this and wrote that I’d like a dessert with a candle in it to be presented to my niece. It never happened. So, the restaurant must not fully read the open table reservation.
Great food, and service with Bonnie was excellent. Looking forward to returning when it is warm enough to eat on the patio.
We had a great server as we seem to have whenever we dine w you! She was just the right amount of attentive. The food was great as usual though the risotto was quite a bit undercooked. The scallops were delicious so I didn’t tell our server about the rice. Just thought you should know. Thanks for a great time w our family
waiter was pretty rude and odd, other than that it was an exceptional meal
The new white bolognese ragu was outstanding! We have been dining at Max a Mia for many years and my go to dinner was always the ragu, but the new white ragu was so different and serving it with paparedelle pasta was a excellent choice. Thank you for a memorable meal.
Always enjoy Max a Mia. Was very crowded, so unfortunately it was very noisy. Great wait staff and food.
Always delicious! We can always count on a great experience at Max-a-Mia
Wonderful food all around... the sangria was great, and the grilled salmon and eggplant lasagna was to die for!!! Will definitely dine there the next time we’re in CT!
Wanted to try a new place for dinner with my man. my coworker as well as my mom reccomended max a mia so we figured we would give it a try. Hands down best experince we've had in a while. It stinks when you shell out a bunch of money for a nice evening and its mediocre. It was a pleasent change of pace and we will deff be back again, i cant wait to try out the rest of the max resturants. Ps they give you a whole roasted garlic to pair with the freshly baked bread which was awesome! and the drinks were made perfectly👌
Third time to the restaurant. Food is always good and our waitress, Nicole, was super nice and helpful!
As always service is terrific. Just like Cheers where everybody knows your name and what you like to eat. Very comforting Food is top notch especially like the green olives brought to the table
Great food and service. We have been several times and are happy every time. Highly recommended!
Excellent. This is the mother ship, you will love it. Amore has fallen and we no longer go there.
The service is outstanding, the food delicious, and the ambiance is superior! Thanks! Had a great time with friends.
Went for a birthday dinner and had a really great time. Our server was wonderful and the food delicious! Would definitely go back again.
Food is ok - menu is nothing thrilling. Service was slow and the waitress was annoying. The bar messed up on a glass of savignon blanc two times by pouring a glasses of moscato. Won’t be going back for a long while
We had a great meal. Arriving a few minutes early for our reservation we only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated on a busy Saturday night. The only reason I did not give service 5 stars was two out of three meals were delivered and we had to wait for the third. The wrong special was prepared by the kitchen (not sure server or kitchen error) and had to be taken back. All 3 meals were delicious. Our table was on the bar side, so there was a buzz, but not to the point that we couldn't hear each other. I've been to Max a Mia before and will go again.
The food is consistently delicious.
Best coconut cake ever!!!
As always delicious food and great service in a very nice setting
Service has always been wonderful. The food has always been delicious. I love the kale salad.
Very nice dinner menu. We always a dinner out at Max Group.
The food was excellent and our server was friendly and efficient.
The music is always too loud. Most people are oblivious to sound, but those who are not, if they are like me, find it pretty horrible...difficult to have good conversations. Turn it down. Better yet, turn it off. Thanks. People want to talk.
Valentine's Day dinner ! Amazing service! Amazing food :)))
From check in to CHECK PLEASE! this place was great. Friendly and courteous staff who did not hover like some other restaurants. We went on Valentines Day and we did not feel rushed once, even though they were super busy. Our waitress was amazing and funny and very attentive to our needs! Food was amazing, really felt like I was back in my grandpa’s kitchen eating his chicken parm! Over all A+
Always enjoy going to Max-A-Mia. My only suggestion is to have Rose's Lime Juice available as a cocktail ingredient. I happen to like my Vodka Gimlet with Rose's Lime Juice rather than just fresh lime/simple sugar. I don't think it's too much to ask. Thank you for your consideration.
We enjoy Max a Mia and go there often. The food is greasy and creatively prepared. Great service and an overall comfortable dining experience.
well done Maxi mia.... the guy from NY.............................LOL
My husband and don't dine out often, but when we do Max a Mia is at the top our list. Creative fare and attentive staff make it a great dining experience . We'll be back!
Former Connecticut residents who visit max’s Every time we visit family . Never fails to please.
Getting a bit tired but still a very good dining experience.
I’ve been coming here for over 10 years, and I by far, had the WORST service I’ve ever had here. It took us 30 minutes to get our drinks, our server was flighty and not very nice. She spent the majority of the night slicing bread. We didn’t even eat at prime time! Super disappointed in Max a Mia, will not be coming here again.
As always, the food( salmon and the swordfish special) and the service was excellent.
it was good but they charges me for a selzer water 3.95
Service, newly renovated setting and food excellent. Good to be back.
Nice by the glass wine. Seating in bar area good. Good music and moderate sound level. FOOD not what expected from a Max restaurant. Roast chicken with no au jus and veggies not roasted. Trout plate served with fingerlings rolling around not smashed with olive oil and seasoning and trout looking plain without garnish To add color and appearance. Very disappointed. Wait staff very accommodating but kitchen needs help.
