   We decided to try the Chef’s Adventure for our anniversary dinner and were not disappointed! The staff were gracious and genuine, taking time to introduce themselves and available to answer any questions we had. The food was delectable , perfectly plated and portioned, each offering a work of art. Our server, John (Bo) was attentive and knowledgeable. Many thanks to each of the staff for a wonderful evening and for thoughtfully signing our menu as a keepsake for our 35th anniversary.

   A truly wonderful dinner experience! We opted for the tasting menu, and each course was superb. The service was attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings. This is everything that fine dining should be!

   We celebrated my birthday with the chef's tasting menu. Our hostess Cricket was pleasant, James brought our water, Bow was our server, and I believe Justin took our first round drink order. Everything was great. The food was amazing, the drinks where we'll made, and the service and atmosphere were great.

    I took three friends here for a special meal. And it was really special! The cooking was utterly superb – innovative, and inspired. The escargot and the monkfish were particularly noteworthy. The service was entertaining and very insightful when it came to wine. I know my wine, well, and I am often unpersuaded by the suggestions of sommeliers. But ‘Bow’ was really helpful. It was not a cheap night out, but it was worth every single dollar. It was a meal I shall remember for a good while!

    First time visit! We went for our One Year Anniversary….we selected the 6-course chef experience which was a really cool dining experience! Definitely recommend it. Our server Bo was very friendly, interactive and knowledgeable of the items we were served and explained everything perfectly. We will definitely be back to this little hidden gem!

    This was hands down the absolute best meal I ever had. Amazing food, excellent service, and extremely friendly staff. We sat at the Chef’s table and all of the kitchen guys were just fantastic. Watching them work their magic was a wonderful experience. This was the best birthday ever.

    Matthew's has now become my favorite resturant in JV. Service was impeccable, the food out-of-this-world good, ambiance perfect amid lovely contemporary decor. I highly recommend the Chef's Adventure menu with wine pairing. You WILL NOT be disappointed! Matthew's is a terrific place to impress a date or a client, or for a special occasion. Hats off to the chef de cuisine and his staff!!

    While we were expecting to give this restaurant a 5 on all counts, unfortunately it fell short. The best: service from arrival to departure was pristine and perfect. Kudos! The good: food was very good with creative touches; a bit bland for our taste. It took long between appetizers and entrees. The need improvement: the dining room was extremely loud. The decibels on my phone app were mostly on the red zone. Even the server was apologetical as we had a hard time hearing him and holding a conversation amongst ourselves - very uncomfortable. There were several patrons that were extremely loud; while not the restaurant’s fault, the acoustics could benefit from significant improvements to mitigate situations like this. This restaurant is supposed to be “la crème de la crème” and as such, dining should be pleasurable. We sat in a booth; the seats could use better cushioning as we both sank and the table was nearly at shoulder level. The back is ergonomically uncomfortable as it’s hard and straight. Next time I will request a regular table. Because of the consistent great reviews, we will give it tray again in the future. It may have been one of those days …..

    Blown away by the service we received at Matthew's. It was a dual birthday celebration for both my Mother and myself. You guys knocked it out of the park! From the greeting when we walked in, to the details provided about the food/wine we received it was amazing. Our server did not overstay the table explaining each course, he gave us just enough, answered our questions and let us dig in to our 6 course tasting menu. Two Maryland natives were blown away by that crab cake! Absolute favorite of the night was a tie between the Foie Gras and the Pasta Bolognese with black truffle. Great work to the entire staff, the kitchen was rocking it without all the yelling and screaming I'm used to! Can't wait to come back!!

    Valet was simple, right there at the front. Upon entry we were warmly greeted despite being a little late. The maître d’ was so gracious and after apologizing for being late he simple said: “stop, no issue and relax…you are here and we’ve got this. Let me take a quick picture to memorialize your time with us this evening.” We were then seated and waited upon by Dewayne who was exceptional. The whole evening Dewayne was attentive and timely at every course. The meal was a three course and desert. I had the duck and it was amazing. The whole evening was fantastic and we will return again!

    Tier 1 service and hospitality. Tier 1 food. Highly recommend their prix fixe menu. Try to sit with Bow if you can. He's the sommelier and is unbelievably knowledgeable about the food and wines. Matthews continues to be out favorite restaurant in town and one of our top 2 or 3 in the state of Florida.

    “One of the best restaurants we’ve been to” - my husband. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Matthew’s where we had the 6 course chefs special. We plan to make it a tradition an come each year. Excellent service!
