Sushi quality was just OK.
Service was great. Ambiance was really nice.
We were just OK with the food. Nothing to make us want to come back soon for....
Great location, beautiful decoration, delicious food, nice service
Took 40 min to have my glass of wine delivered. Very slow service.
Omg sushi was amazing! Service was great. Will be coming back very soon for a knockout roll
Thank you Matsu! Our large group was easily accommodated, you were patient even when some of them did not arrive on time, you helped us plan our meal around the other large groups you were expecting. The service was gracious, helpful, prompt, and all around wonderful. Thank you!
Great happy hour prices with full price quality. Service was prompt. Familiar rolls created with originality.
It was great!
Food was delicious, service was great and attentive! Rolls took longer than hot foods and prices were a bit high, but that might just be the Seattle culture.
Excellent before the game meeting place.
Previous dining experience (service) wasn't great, but close to stadium and hotel, so thought we'd give it another go. We enjoyed the food, beverages, and service this time around. Matsu is a little more on the spendy side, so be prepared for that, but considering that, the apps and rolls we at were delicious.
Actually this place does not seem to be owned by Japanese. But the price and taste is acceptable.
Loved our waitress! She made the night so much fun!
The restaurant is beautiful and hostess was amazing, very friendly and genuine! Our server seemed like he was having an off evening and was pretty short and terse with us at the beginning, eventually by the middle of our meal he was nicer but it started the evening on a rough and sort of tense note. Yakiudon I ordered was ok, not a lot of flavor so that was disappointing. The chicken katsu was also just ok, came out like popcorn chicken and the dipping sauce was not great. Crunchy California roll was very tasty. I had a sashimi set and although it tasted good, my stomach was not happy later in the day so not sure if it was the sashimi but since my husband had everything I ate besides that and felt fine I am guessing it was. All in all we enjoyed our dinner but with the mediocre service and food I would be on the fence about going back. Too bad because it had a lot of promise.
We were seated right away on a Saturday night. The server was knowledgable and brought our meal out promptly. I had the KFC chicken with spicy ramen from the happy hour menu and a spicy tuna roll with Jameson on the rocks. My partner had miso soup as well as the veggie sampler plate. We both loved our food. It was really tasty.
Birthday dinner with family. Great rolls. Wonderful service and friendly atmosphere
Great Sushi and fabulous ribs. Staff was excellent!!!
Food was decent, service friendly and competent. The hostess absolutely reeked of perfume. When she reached over to get my water glass I nearly died.
The sushi was very unimpressive. The only thing good about the sushi was that it was fresh - the rolls fell apart really easily and the rice was too wet.
5 stars for the ice cream though - that was really good. Service was good with nice and helpful wait staff and ambiance was good.
slow service and food is not tasty, not a very good experience
Nice place which we'll come back to. The 'standard rolls' weren't mind-blowing but some of the special were pretty nice. Decor and service was good. Thanks, we'll be back!
Very good sushi and udon. Music was a little bit too loud.
Great location and great quality sushi if you are going to a game or something near the stadiums. But otherwise, if you can, make it to momiji or the other sister restaurant before going here.
This was the second consecutive year my leadership team and I hosted peers from our largest client for dinner after our annual Executive Review. And again, Matsu did not disappoint. The staff is appropriately attentive and very knowledgeable of every aspect of their revised menu - including food/beverage pairings. Even seated in the main room, our group of 10 could easily converse from end-to-end, and enjoyed the privacy to discuss confidential subject matter.
Kudos and thank you.
Fabulous! Romantic and fun! Super nice folks! We ate here on Friday for our Anniversary and they were so kind to seat us in the back. The sushi, sashimi and short ribs were fantastic! So good we came back on Saturday night, after the WHO concert for more sashimi, sushi and drinks. Super great again!!
Yummy chef’s choice sashimi platter, also delicious sushi roll options for our vegan son. Great location, as we stayed at adjacent Embassy Suites Pioneer for Sounders home game. Pricey, but tasty and killer stadium location..
Wonderful atmosphere and fabulous food and service. Server picked out some awesome saki flights for us to try. Enjoyed the sushi as well as yakisoba.
We had a wonderful meal at Matsu! The happy hour specials were fantastic - and great service, too!
Food was delicious and the fish was super fresh and high quality. Our server was great and very knowledgeable about the menu. Recommend for a nice dinner out!
We loved Matsu! The cocktails were great and they had a very impressive sake list. We ordered some of the best sashimi I’ve ever had and the spicy crab miso was phenomenal. The only item we didn’t appreciate was the salmon skin roll (the pike place, I think) and that was purely on taste preference, not quality.
Great atmosphere and nice staff
Beautiful space. Great scene. Good vibe. Friendly staff. Outstanding food. Cold beer. Happy Hour was fabulous.
We ate here after a Sounders FC game. It was really fresh sushi and great service. We just happened to be there during Happy Hour.... ended up with a bill much lower than we expected!
Cute ambiance, hadn’t been there before. Nice find for the area down by stadiums. I’d go again!
Ambiance is lovely; quiet and calm. However the Sushi was of fair quality only. The fish tasted wet as if it were recently thawed. Cooked food was far better. but it doesn't make it worth a visit here. Service was good, nothing great.
Solid Japanese restaurant close to CenturyLink Stadium. I would highly recommend the Pike Place roll and the Otoro sushi. This a perfect restaurant for a happy hour or a group gathering.
Cod is very good. Everything came out quickly. Sushi is better than average. Happy hour is a good value. I'd say the short ribs we're just so so.
Overall, I'd go again. I've been twice.
Dude, y’all were amazing when confronted with the hurdle of an 18 month old. Much credit given. Thanks for a great dinner.
Super spot to convene for Pre Game dinner! Sushi 🍣 is so fresh. Flavors mouth watering! Just lovely & wonderful.
One of the best sushi spots I’ve been to! So fresh and great service!
