This place is the worst in the chain. Unapologetically awful service that gets worse every time we go. This time was our last.
The French Fries were cold and it took away from the overall meal. I had to ask for an itemized bill of my purchase as well.
Great birthday dinner!
Always a fun place to go when we want to talk with good friends. Food ranges from okay to good. Great staff.
Great food and service as usual!!
Server was personable and attentive.
Great food, great service and waitress! Definitely will be back!
Excellent staff and Everything was good.
I would love to see gluten free bread for breakfast and plant based milk as alternatives for people who have food sensitivities .
Every other Matchbox location has always been excellent. The Silver Spring location was such a disappointment. The wine was warm, cocktails were undrinkable, and our server was incredibly slow and very frosty.
This is a solid brunch spot to go to! They have good food, nice ambiance and it’s spacious!
Food was good but disappointed because bottomless brunch was not served as advertised
Super cute, nice ambiance, outdoor seating is covered.
the food was really good! the salted carmel waffle was to die for
I’ve always loved Matchbox as a central place to meet friends from Maryland or Virginia. The food is terrific, and lately I’m really enjoying the patio!
Sarah was the best server and she made our experience wonderful. She made sure to ask allergies and check on the table enough.
I would won’t waste my time or money coming back here. Nothing about this dining experience was impressive. The manager and server made a point to make us feel like we were bothering them. The servers humor was inappropriate. I won’t spend my money here again
Blackened chicken salad with mango dressing was good except they dumped a half bottle of dressing on it. Needs a lighter hand in the kitchen.
We have been to this restaurant in the past and the menu has recently changed and not for the better. It used to be a fun place to go to but now it is really not worth the drive. We understand that restaurants constantly change their menus but the current one is not well thought out. It will be a while if ever before we go back.
My wife’s birthday
It was a huge disaster choosing this place for Mother's day. I ordered off the regular menu and the order took forever and was wrong. I had to snd it back. We sat there for 40 minutes or more before I just gave up. My kid's food was ice cold and just sugary gross junk food.
neighborhood steady standby. Glad to see the Milk & Honey pop-up
Wasn’t crowded but very slow service. I mentioned more than 3 times it was my daughter’s birthday and the server never really acknowledged. Didn’t ask if we wanted dessert. Didn’t bring a special dessert. That was disappointing. Food was amazing as usual. Service was blah.
Food was delicious and the service was excellent. I’ve gone back at least twice since this time and order their takeout when I want to stay in.
I’ve been there before and had a great lunch which is why I chose to return . But I must say I was disappointed. The food was so mediocre. I ordered the chicken sandwich. One bite in and I was looking for the salt or some kind of seasoning to make it taste like something. Very bland even with the egg salad topping.
Matchbox can do better than that.
Asked for outside seating and hostess did not acknowledge the request was made. Waiter wasn’t very friendly. I’ve been to better locations.
We ate outside as requested. It was for a birthday lunch. Food was good, but omelet was surprisingly tiny, and the salad was just barely dressed lettuce leaves. Not much for $18. Service was polite but a little rushed - perhaps due to the trainee. Nothing made of the birthday, but request for extra plate was accommodated quickly. No water refills. Overall good but not great.
No vegan friendly options. Cocktails were good. Service was excellent.
The food was Matchbox quality. However, this was the worst restaurant service I have had since the pandemic. The wait staff was more engaged in their conversations behind the bar while restocking glasses than they were in tending to the patrons. No one came to ask how the food was or if drinks needed to be refilled. It was like our patronage was not needed and more of an annoyance. We asked for a box and it took at least five minutes. We went to the bar to pay for the check instead of waiting so we could meet their 90 minute table limit. It’s a shame, We won’t be returning.
I always enjoy my visit at this Match Box, I even invite family and friends because of the great quality and service we received!
Great service and food. We are outdoors so sound and ambiance was just okay based on the location. I will definitely be back and may eat indoors as the protocols seemed appropriate.
Food came out fast and was tasty. No complaints
The waiter was very sarcastic , he forgot to put in the order for my spinach dip although it was the first item i ordered. It arrived after the entries. We got charged full price for a veggie pasta even though there was no chicken added . The was no team service at all . We asked another waiter for water and he acted like we were bothering him . With very few servers, it important for everyone to contribute equally. Loved the food . Manager was pleasant . Servers not so much
Great food and ambiance. Great covid measures
The waiter was rude and management doesn’t know what he is talking about.
I really like this place, it is close, good food, however the service was not good. I felt like a burden and not a customer. Gave a tip even though it was not earned.
Overall good experience
the Match Box is our favorite place to eat. We missed being there and we seriously missed the brunch
They advertised, both on their website and also inside the restaurant on a sliding screen on the TV, that they had bottomless brunch. We get there and they claim they don't. They also do not have bottomless mimosas. But they have mimosas by the bottle for $20. I ask for that, they say they ran out of prosecco but can substitute with another wine.
Our server told us he would get us a $20 bottle and charged us for an $88 bottle of wine. Did not know the cost until after I had already been charged. The restaurant refuses to call me back and never answers their phone.
Good food, decent portions and nice ambiance. Great social distancing and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I took my out of town visitors to Matchbox because we wanted to celebrate my brother's birthday at a restaurant that had outdoor tables. Because of their outdoor first come, first serve policy, when we arrived all the outdoor tables were occupied. Although I was skeptical about sitting inside a restaurant, Matchbox indoor social distancing policy was excellent. We were at least 25 feet(!) from the nearest diners so felt completely safe. The food portions were large and the taste was amazing. 4 of the 5 of us took home doggie bags but by midnight we had consumed all our leftovers, and it was still amazing. We will definitely dine there again.
