   This was my first time going to matchbox. I seen it on TikTok so I decided to come in with three of my friends but overall I loved it. The pepperoni pizza was delicious the stuff French toast. Also, the spinach dip with the bread was so delicious. I do recommend to make reservation and also come early because they run out of a lot of things but other than that it was great. I’ll be back soon.

   I’ve been a fan of matchbox since its inception. However, this experience was not the best at all, save for our waiter. First our reservation seating preference was ignored and we were placed inside where the temperature was very cold for the two seniors with us. People around us complained of how cold it was. Aside the temperature, the larger issues were our seating preferences not being acknowledged while my family watched people without reservations be seated outside when they asked, and some of our food was underwhelming and overcooked. My steak was burnt (and yes, you can cook a steak fully without burning or drying it out). The sides were the size of children’s meals and my daughter’s pasta was dry. My wife’s pizza was so thin that the cheese melted right through it. It was beyond a typical thin crust pizza. The dough was damn near nonexistent. The saving grace was truly our waiter who was so personable and helpful. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

   The atmosphere is beautiful, and the ribs and cornbread were genuinely good. However, the service was a major letdown. Although our server was polite, he wasn’t attentive. Another table received our order, and we waited nearly two hours for our food—only to get it cold and incorrect. The staff seemed overwhelmed, so either more training or additional help is needed. Also, the restroom was in terrible condition, which really took away from the overall experience.

   This was my first time visiting this location and it seemed they weren’t properly staffed to handle the crowd they received for brunch. Simple things like appetizers & syrup had run out but they didn’t inform you of this when allowing you to place an order for things you would expect to come with syrup. The wait for dishes was long considering you can only order 3 dishes and the portions weren’t share size despite the menu saying family serve style. Overall I was not pleased and do not think I’ll be returning to this location any time soon.

   The overall experience was subpar. My guest and I had to wait 30 to 45 minutes each time we ordered food and drinks during the unlimited brunch. Therefore, the value diminished greatly because we spent most of our time waiting for our entrees and our waitress to get us additional drinks we ordered.

   We came here as an anniversary and try brunch. We figure to try something new, but we ended up regretting coming here. I’ve been here after work during the week and it was great, but brunch is not great. For the price the eggs are not made fresh, they definitely use powdered eggs. The “ street tacos “ were mediocre and the waffle station isn’t made fresh. Just have a bunch of slices made sitting under a heat lamp. The overall service we had wasn’t that great. It was made worse when we ordered steak and eggs. We requested medium well and had to get the order sent back 6 times! Not only was it a waste of food, but apparently medium-well steak is cooked rare. Use a thermometer if you have to but man I’m not sure what caused the disconnect to get 4 consecutive rare steaks. I cook myself and just don’t understand how that was made so many times. On top of that we got wrong orders that we did not ask for and randomly got approached with food that wasn’t ours. Completely disorganized - we really tried liking the place. Not sure if we would do brunch here again. The only positive thing we had was the buttered biscuit.

   I missed my first reservation for 3pm due to no parking, I drove around for literally 30 minutes and once I finally made it in at 3:40pm I was given the option to come back at 4:30pm for dinner because they were not seating anymore people for Brunch per the hostess. I decided to wait and even made reservations again but for 4:30pm. Overall, the dinner was not so great as my food was kind of bland and unfortunately my food was served warm at that. I wouldn’t say my experience was bad but maybe I need to try the Brunch since that’s what I believe this place is popular for per social media. My advice: get there early to find parking as your reservations are cancelled 15 minutes after the scheduled time and maybe only try their brunch

   Went for brunch..their brunch menu if u sit at a table is $42/pp; who eats that much breakfast to justify $42 for breakfast and that doesn’t include ANY beverage, even tea or coffee; all beverages are separate charge. They treat it as a buffet so u can order more than one thing, but again, who is going to eat that much breakfast. Money wise it doesn’t make sense. If u want to order a la carte you have to sit at the bar. We did not know this when we sat at a table as it was our first time there. So be aware! Food was good, ambience was good as well. The blueberry lemon pancakes were delicious. The mimosas looked as if someone drank half of it as it was only half a mimosa in the glass. If you are going to order more than one mimosa, you might as well order bottomless. Overall, it is a nice place but I will not be sitting at a table for breakfast in the future.

    The weekend brunch offered at Matchbox Sawgrass is overrated. For the price you have to pay ($42 per person) the food was very average. Service was also lacking. Waiter misinformed us about the price of bottomless drinks and added unnecessary charges to the bill. Overall, the experience was overpriced and overrated. Definitely do not recommend. Not good value at all. Be smart and spend your money elsewhere.
