Very pleasant ambiance dining outside at Matchbox Rockville yesterday. Food was really excellent - shrimp and grits (breakfast menu), salmon salad, and fire and ice pizza. We also had Virgin Marys, which were very good as well. The service was very good, but the server clearly was overworked/covering too many tables. He did try to keep up. All in all we had a great experience!

The ambiance and atmosphere was everything. However the food was lackluster. I did not get my pizza garlic bread with my order of fettuccine Alfredo… and their was something floating in my drink when served. Plates on the table were visibly dirty. I’m actually disappointed.

Matchbox has a nice variety of options for both lunch and brunch. I has a chicken and avocado sandwich, cooked perfectly. One of my friends had chicken and waffles. She said it was the best she's ever had. Another had shrimp and grits and was impressed by the tenderness and texture. The last person had eggs Benedict and was thrilled that it was cooked perfectly.

Server was great. Had a good time, fine food. We put that we had a birthday to celebrate. A treat would have been more than welcome.

Matchbox is always great about accommodating my family’s needs. The food is delicious, and many of the servers are excellent. We eat here regularly.

The meal was amazing and enjoyed by both adults and children. The veggie garden pizza tasted even better than the real pizza. Caesar salad wasn’t great and the browned lettuce that was still visible under too much dressing. The server was not attentive and had to be flagged down to bring basic things such as cutlery or straws. We were overcharged but easily fixed when we pointed it out. I would certainly recommend for the great food and ambience.

Great brunch options. Overall the food was great, but my fiancé did not like the grits…I’m not a grits eater but they did look rather stiff and clumpy. But other than that everything else was great! The service was great.
