Matchbox - Pentagon City
Food was great. The service was perfect. Really enjoyed it.
Always pleasurable..Everything about is Great!!
We loved the choices for the Brunchbox on Sunday morning. We ended up getting served the same items twice, by mistake by servers, but didn't mind eating more.
I enjoy going to Matchbox and highly recommended it to my friend. She was not as impressed as I am/was. I always order the apple and pear salad with the 3 mini burgers. We had calamari and wings. Her son had the crab cake meal. Too many french fries. He was looking for more vegetable sides as an option. Prices are a little steep.
It exceeded my expectations, I was surprised by the menu options. I loved the pear apple side salad and the fried shrimp entree!
I reviewed this restaurant's noise level as "quiet," but I went for a lunch meeting. There are a lot of hard surfaces, so I expect that the busier dinner time crowd is probably noisier.
Matchbox provided exactly what my wife and I wanted away from the kids. A nice booth near the window, amazing food, and even better cocktails. Thank you.
Fantastic calamari, the jalapeño jelly is delicious! It was a good evening with great food!
Food was excellent we had the Pizza, Chicken, and Burgers..Great customer service
The best brunch in the DC area! I took my teenage niece and nephew. We all loved it!
Valentine’s Day date with my partner. Good drinks and good food.
Everything was great . Server just forgot utensils had to chase someone down to get it . On Valentine’s Day
We had a good time eating at MatchBox, the only thing was we went on Valentines Day for my birthday so of course we found traffic & there were accidents so we called because we were going to arrive 7 mins late & they said it was okay, when we got there they said we didn’t call & they gave away our table, but the manager helped us out and got us a table
Great as usual but the pizza was really really slow in arriving.
Friendly service and the pizza was very good. We had a chicken pesto pizza and a margarita pizza.
My server was amazing and very attentive seating was quick and good music selection.
It took us 2 hours to finish our meal and get our check. It was pretty busy when we got there on Wednesday night, but it slowed down to nothing and we still didn't have good service. food wasn't bad.
The fried chicken sandwich was very good. My friend had the beyond burger and sweet potato fries and really enjoyed it.
This was our second trip to this Matchbox in a week. The prior visit was very nice, however the service and noise levels for this visit were substandard. The server was inattentive, difficult to hear due to the loud music, slow to bring the drink orders, slow to take the food orders, the food came to the table close to cold, the check was delivered well after our table had been cleared. The host counter also seemed to lack a sense of urgency even after our party made several trips to express our desire to have better service. The music in the restaurant was far too loud, making conversation difficult. This is not the level of service we have experienced on prior visits to Matchbox, but another visit with service at this declining level may cause it to be our last.
We alerted the staff that one of our party found a piece of plastic in her pasta. It was a busy time for the restaurant and unfortunately the server wasn’t able to return to the table until after everyone was finished eating his and her food.
The manager only offered to replace the pasta instead of to remove the item from the bill. She had already eaten around the plastic at that point and wasn’t hungry for an additional meal.
They brought a dessert to go which was surprisingly a dessert with ice cream — in the to go bag!
This restaurant is one of our favorites and our normal weekly go to — so we were very surprised this was how they handled the situation. It’ll be awhile before we’re ready to return.
Decent wings! Loud, but it was during a super bowl.
Sadly we won’t be returning here. We picked this to celebrate a kid birthday because it checked a lot of boxes - pizzas, adult entrees, salads, etc and the one downtown has always been reliable. Service was terrible... this location suffers from an awful layout with the kitchen two floors up and not enough staff so your food is guaranteed to take forever and come out cold. We were there twice as long as we should have been and spent most of the time trying to catch sight of our well meaning but infrequently seem waiter who was running between the kitchen 2 floors up and the bar and pizza kitchen in all different areas.
I love going here for happy hour. The food is good and the service has always been great.
As always good food and great service despite there being a number of large parties for the Friday lunch rush!
Loved it all ! Highly recommend !
Stephanie provided fantastic service! My friend and I each had a cocktail, and Stephenie offered recommendations. We then split the salad with salmon (large portion) and split a small pizza, half fig/prosciutto and half of the very spicy pizza. Splitting the pizza was Stephanie’s suggestion, and a good one, since we could not choose between sweet and spicy. I preferred the fig/prosciutto, but it was all tasty. The noise level was high, but I knew to expect that from other reviews, and the restaurant was also quite crowded (especially for a Wednesday night).
Ordered online and grabbed takeout. The pizzas were ready but They told me my salad “had been stolen” so I had to wait 25 mins for them to make one. Cherry on top was the gastric issues I had 3 times the next day. I think it may have been from the pizzas sitting out for so long.
Hostess refused to seat me upstairs, pointed and told me to goto a table on the left ...
Fun for families with teens.
We had a great server, lots of fresh, delicious food and a wonderful brunch experience for my son's birthday. Very pleased and would definitely go back!
Never disappoints and with a restaurant week menu for lunch...it’s a great value! Def recommend!
I've always liked Matchbox and the food remains good. It's pizza, though, so if you're looking for high-end food, this isn't the place. Service was exceptionally good.
Good food waiter was fabulous. Hostess was awful. Mean and condescending. Our reservations were for 6:30 she said well they say on my form 5:30. I showed her the text that opentable sent and she said well it isn’t right. But we can seat you. I was not happy
Brunch was delicious; service provided by Hector was amazing!
We have had dinner here twice and will not be returning. The food was lukewarm, just average and not necessarily what the menu depicted. We had to return an entrée which they had to recook because it was not like the description on the menu. One of the entrees was served way ahead of the others with one of our group almost finished with dinner before the rest of the entrees arrived. The waiter was just ok, and did not seem to understand some of the very basic requests we had. It was quite a disappointment!
Best pizza in town but LOUD and at busy times it is hard to get served. We had to wait 15 minutes after being seated to be served, after one of our party got up to find a server. Still, my favorite pizza.
We had an incredible wait to even see a server. It ruined the whole meal. Also, when the food came out it was mediocre at best. It was worse quality than a TGI Fridays.
Open table allowed me to get a table at 10:15 p.m.. The restaurant and kitchen closes at 10:30. The service and food was great.
Outstanding food drinks and service! Love this place and we will be back soon!
